Jenny and I visited mum today and she was pretty good! Sharing her words of wisdom and knitting her trauma teddies! Jenny lay in mum’s room most of the time feeling miserable because she hates the cone of shame! Her hotspot is healing and I’m hoping her updated beck collar is in the mail tomorrow! Mum has some time of joyful laughter after an emotional time of informing her of the passing of her eldest daughter Julie! Jenny and I drove down to the Island to visit Mum! Jenny is amazing when she gets to the nursing home! She didn’t want to wait the 10 minutes while I took my Rat test! She just wanted to get in to mums room! She is so intuitive and lies at Mums door as protector! She caught up with some of the residents who were so happy to see her again! At one stage she escaped to the lady opposite mums room who was delighted with her visit while I was apologetic! When I tried to take her to the car to bring it to the entrance to pick up mum she flatly refused and stayed by mums side till I arrived with the car! We then dropped her at the house with GK while mum and I went for a little drive! We stopped by the Island Food Store and got coffee and quiche and dear Elizabeth came out to have a chat with Mum! We then drove to Rhyll and then a visit to Dad’s grave at the cemetery! Visited Mum with Louisa today! After a teary start mum was happy with our company! A lovely afternoon visit to see Mumsie! The home is still in lockdown but mum’s wing and a couple of others are less restricted! It was such a beautiful day we went for a walk in the gardens and Mumsie got some welcome Vitamin D! We reminisced the songs that she enjoyed as a young woman and caught up with a friend Bill! Time to go home and I was happy to leave mum enjoying a milo I made for her! She was upbeat and that is enough for me! Visited Miss Linda today and she was easily tempted to go for a coffee at Pino’s! She even ordered some arancini balls with her cappuccino and managed to eat one! We sat outside with the warmth of the glorious May sunshine.
