Mock Orange
I'm fond of this plant, found in our front yard, but have never looked it up. Turns out it's Philadelphus Coronarius, commonly called Fragrant Mock Orange (source).

Variegated shrubs can be useful for lighting up a shaded part of the garden with Philadelphus coronarius 'Variegatus' (variegated mock orange) being great for this task. The deciduous shrub has leaves with a broad cream margin and in early summer white, strongly scented flowers. This plant responds to pruning after flowering and grows well in partial shade.

I am dreaming of my new garden. What would I like it to be? How would I like it to feel? How will I spent my time in it? How much work will I happily put into it? For the longest of time I feel drawn to white gardens. To be precise to green and white gardens. There is something about the color white that I find so soothing and peaceful. I feel I am getting a break, I can rest. I am thinking to try to keep the front yard all in green and white. But will it be boring in the long run? Will I be disciplined enough to stick to this color scheme? Will there be enough white flowering plants in Central Texas? Is this too artificial, too contrived? Many questions that I don’t know the answers to, yet, and that’s OK. The lovely blossoms featured in the image belong to a particularly beautiful mock orange variety with the name Philadelphus ‚Snowbelle‘. I took the photo on one of my trips to England. All of you who celebrate Easter, I am wishing a lovely Easter weekend! For most of us it will be quite different from what we are used to, I certainly will miss having an Easter brunch with friends, but let’s try to make the best out of it! That is all we can do, really! . . . #mockorange #mockorangeblossoms #white #whiteflowers #whitegardens #moongarden #moongardens #blossoms #whiteblossoms #fortheloveofwhite #philadelphus #philadelphussnowbelle #austintexas #austin #centraltexas #texas #england #newgarden # garden #gardens gardening #gardendesign (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-18LEtA9Pg/?igshid=1nizpjq3i3crw
Thinking a lot about spring today and wondering if the mock orange I planted will survive the winter.. 🤞🏼 #winnipeg #florist #spring #flowers #floral #botanical #gardenflowers #mockorange (at Winnipeg, Manitoba)
