I never expect to be understood, I honestly don’t want people that close to me and the mind is a tricky terrain to navigate. I just want to be felt, touched, and released into the world to experience an existence that overshadows all of my pain and loss. An existence worthy of my approval and equivalent to the love and security I felt when you and my momma walked this Earth. I cannot say I will ever see you again, I don’t know if I’ve inherited that opportunity; I cannot day that I care too either. I’ve been living in a hell since you left so what’s the difference. None of us know what’s to come when this flesh loses its breath, but for what’s its worth. If there is a reward for all of the shit we endure in this finite existence, you’ve definitely earned it. for what it is worth, my focus for 2018 is refinement---quality over quantity. as I mature in this world and grow more courageous and assertive in obtaining the desires of my heart, I am discovering that the things I find most valuable originate out of a peculiar experience/process, making them original and singular in their existence. it is about what is, but also it is equally about the process by which whatever that it is, is made (lol). as a result of this realization, I will/desire that whatever I put my hand to or attract to me reflects this same integrity in character and likeness. my goal is that whatever I do, I do it with the uniqueness and originality cultivated from the appreciation of my own personal experience. I want the originality and uniqueness to emanate from a deep sense of integrity and value within myself for the glory and honor of African-American Men and the greater African-American community. and for this idea of refinement to permeate all of my dealings and endeavors so that I (we, the greater African-American Community, and the larger human community) can move through this realm with more grace and lightheartedness. I will to experience the full measure of my existence in this world from the inside-out, free and unbound. I wish the same for you, my friend. Happy New Year.

I'm really out here without my best friend!!! This woman helped me keep my mind after I lost my mother, her first born daughter. I remember the days, Granny, when we would cry together and you would tell me that it will be alright, son. You were strong enough to encourage me to keep pushing while we both were at a lost in the world, wondering how/ why my Momma departed when she did. You would alway say, "don't work yourself up, grandson because you won't be able to calm yourself down." Well, look at me Granny, I'm standing tall and you've both transitioned. Thank you for all the wisdom you've imparted in me in our short time here together. May your spirit be married with the spirit of my mother, and may you two act as guides and protectors in my life. Watch over our family and lead us in the way we should go to live a healthy and fulfilling life. You are our ancestor, you are our Goddess.
