i don’t agree that gay marriage is a “bandaid solution” but i definitely think that once gay marriage is legalized the other aspects of oppression queer people have to deal with will be overlooked. that’s why i don’t like the hyper focus on gay marriage, because i feel like once it’s legalized other community issues are simply going to be ignored or laughed at because “we’re equal now.” it’s unsettling that it’s the only topic of discussion that comes up when discussing gay rights (with straight people at least). so, like obviously i want gay marriage to be legalized i just worry about the erasure of other issues it could cause (and in some respects already has).

emma you are just so cool? i can't believe we're mutuals or that you're 16? i was never that cool at your age!! i sound like a crotchety old lady saying that but it's honestly so tru! you are so passionate and good at makeup and i love how you're always willing to help anyone who comes to your ask looking for guidance. i love how serious you are about theatre but not like, pretentious rude theatre kid about it. it makes me happy that you like me even though i am ride or die team hit list and you are bombshell squad. i've never heard you sing, but i'm sure you're aces at that too because you've so far been pretty good i have seen

one time i did a show where all the characters were british so we all had to do accents but people kept lapsing into southern accents for some reason and the director would just yell WHAT ARE YOU DOING

that's basically what happened with that cast but the director just them run with it
