I know that the tools players can use to transfer Pokemon between games aren't typically treated as hard canon, but if you treat them like they are you realize it's a ridiculously powerful in-world technology. You think it's outlandish that they can resurrect a Pokemon from a fossil? God sent a kid back in time with a cell phone and as a direct result, some random kid in Spain is going to reintroduce several extinct species of Pokemon.
