Link’s used to you being somewhat late
but not… this late
he hesitates to go after you, thinking you’re probably fixated on something
but a few more hours pass
and he starts to worry
he grabs his sword and shield
and he’s out the door
he makes it to the spot you said you’d be exploring with ease
but something in his gut tells him this isn’t you ‘getting lost’
he looks around
and there’s clues that point to the Yiga Clan
I mean, it’s kinda hard not to notice with the bunch of bananas sitting in the grass
and then he realizes…
this is a ploy to get revenge
and with that, he makes his way to the nearest Yiga Clan base
because he knows they’re not going to trek across the country just for this little scheme
low and behold
there you are, sitting next to Master Kohga
you’re absolutely bored out of your mind
when you see Link, you wave at him with a smile
“This is so stupid” you mouth to him
Master Kohga finally notices Link after a few minutes and nearly falls out of his chair
“You— You actually showed up? How did—”
and he holds up the bunch of bananas found in the grass before tossing them in front of Master Kohga
details of the Yiga Clans plan to draw you here come up
and while Master Kohga is fixated on Link, you’re able to move freely without getting yelled at
Link notices this and keeps Master Kohga occupied
you make it to the entrance with ease
“Can I go home now?”
The large Yiga Clan Master’s eyes are on you
as are Link’s
“What— HOW—”
Link shrugs and walks over you you, reaching this hand for yours
“You can’t just… leave!”
and you take one step toward him
“Sure we can!”
and with that, both you and Link are heading back to the house in Hateno
he holds your hand tightly
and you can tell he’s slightly upset about the ordeal
but when you both arrive home, he wraps his arms around you tightly
“Link, it’s alright. I promise. I’m safe, you’re safe, and we’re home. That’s all that matters.”
and he nods
“Plus, that was the BIGGEST waste of time. I could have come up with a better plan than that. Anyway, I think it’s time for bed.”
you kiss his cheek before starting up the stairs
but he pulls you back gently, pulling you as close to him as he can
he gazes at you for just a moment before kissing you
and you can feel his smile against your lips
“I love you.”
your heart flutters from hearing him speak
it’s a rarity
and you alway cherish those moments he feels comfortable enough to
“I love you, Link.”
you both walk up the stairs, hand in hand
and the both of you are in for a good night’s rest
“could you do a headcanon of Link having a brother who Hates him so much seeing Link had it easy he had talent but his Brother had to struggle to get where he is and when Link got the Master sword his brother was not happy and one day Links brother returns challenges him to a duel and his brother brings out the well Master Sword but it is black in colour.” - @oransvillage
oooooh! yes!!! this gave me Dark Link vibes for sure, and i’m positive that’s what you were going for with the sword. i cannot tell you enough how much i LOVED this request! it was so fun to research Dark Link and Sheikah lore in my free time, and you know i’m always down to research the dark history of Hyrule <3

it’s not that you hated your brother
it’s just that…
you hated how easy he’s had it
from the time he was 4 years old, he was already besting some of the best guards in combat
it was a tremendous feat, yes…
but…
but you couldn’t shake the thought from your mind
‘Why can’t that be me?’
from that moment forward, you knew you had to train harder
and no matter how much you trained, it seemed Link was always one step ahead
Link always cheered you on in silence
but it didn’t matter
he was better than you
then the day came
the day where he lifted the master sword from it’s place
you were fuming with anger
‘Why can’t that be me?’
Link was the chosen one
the one chosen to save Hyrule
and that’s when it occurred to you
‘Vengeance.’
you kept training
becoming a mere reflection of your brother
you watch him from afar
traveling in his footsteps to better understand his movements and motions
you’re devoted to your craft
to getting what your heart desired
to feel worthy for once
it feels quite stalker-ish to watch your brother this intently
but you don’t care
you must know his ways
your dark intentions lead you to study the ancient ways of shadow magic
you crafted the blade you now carry
looking like the Master Sword, yet black in color
and over time…
you become the mere shadow of the Hero himself
you’re ready
ready for once last battle
you find him
his eyes narrow on you, not knowing exactly who you are
