Linte2k15′s profession is “shady rpg merchant who has exactly what you need to continue your epic quest but you have to barter with something stupid and weirdly specific to get it”

The fact that he can’t exactly tell you what he wants is just part of the fun!

Edited to add, here’s a next-day add on “process gif” which is mostly deconstructed layers:

Here’s a run down, everything done in Clip Studio Paint, except for the final adjustment layers step, which is done in Photoshop:

Pose blob/sketch - what my sketching looks like, I could also just flood fill the thing with a solid color and it wouldn’t make much difference for this mess. originally he was gonna sell carpets?

Lines - what I managed to salvage from the blob.

Flats + bg tint - flats from his reference pic and brushed in some basic colors for the background because I didn’t want to think about them yet.

Hard brush multiply layer - “shadows should go here maybe?”

Blended multiply layer - “oh shit i don’t wanna render this whole thing ugh just smudge the hard brush layer around a little” (these brushes and a bit of airbrushing)

Duplicated multiply layer - copied the blended multiply layer and erased most of it to the left with a big soft brush to make the shadows deeper and make it look like the light’s coming from the left with 0 extra effort!

Multiply layer over white - just to show what it looks like on its own

Add (glow) highlights - that’s the layer type name, basic boring highlights. the background got flats here too

Glow dodge highlights - suddenly! lighting! (and smoke)

Adjustments layers magic - that magic ‘make it look pretty’ button in photoshop (mostly overlays and color tweaks)

I wanted to do something for mother’s day and since the theme lately has been “people taking Linte for walkies” let’s not combobreak. So here’s Rakh and Linte ready to burgle your house.
