Been doing commissions for a while of some of my characters who are normally reserved for... OTHER content. But aside from being a bit revealing, this and others aren't quite that content, being risqué at worst. So I thought I'd post em' here over the coming week, cuz I liked em', and I've had a bit of a drought of things to post here anyway.

Happy WBW :) what is the most heartwarming thing in your world? (a tradition or cultural aspect, an oc / species fact, anything!

This feels a little like cheating but I'd say the relationships that the characters in AASOAF form with each other. And I don't just mean the ones of the two main romances but the other romances and friendships in the story. Here are some of my favorites!

Rapheus and Jace. Master and apprentice but also pseudo father and son relationship. They are also each other's designated caregivers and support system since they are both disabled.

Wilkes and his adoptive father, Walter. They love and care for another very much and Wilkes holds him in the highest esteem, often mirroring many of his habits in an effort to emulate him. Yes even now at the ripe old age of 45 🥺

Fay and Anise. The ultimate sister from another mister/"please adopt me bc I'm poor" LOL. Anise is constantly asking Fay for monetary handouts and she pretends to hate it but she doesn't. Fay also admires Anise very much but will never tell her because her head will blow up to the size of Mars LOL.

Axtapor and Lady Fisla (aka grandma!). You know I HAD to put this one here. And I think it speaks for itself! Ultimate grandma's boy if there ever was one!

Mariel and Yula. Yula is a secondary character in AASOAF 2 that I absolutely ADORE so I won't talk about her and Mariel too much bc spoilers. But writing their scenes together was a lot of fun!

Lexlar and Hartim. These two absolutely don't get enough page time but I love them so much. Hence why they are getting their own book hahaha. They have a whole backstory I won't get into but safe to say I would jump in front of a bus for them.

Fay and her adoptive mother, Alma. Fay can literally count on one hand the people she truly, and I mean truly loves and would never betray. Alma is one of them. She loves that woman with all her heart.

The thoughts won't leave my head so here are some of my brain farts.

In a modern AU (bending or non-bending) but for me it's a bending AU Katara would totally be a nerd. Hell half the ATLA kids would be nerds.

I imagine Toph to be very intelligent and her parents downplaying it due to her blindness but Toph saying fuck them and getting on gifted kids programs and shit in school courtsey of some faked signatures. Thank you Jet.

Katara would be that nerdy good two shoes who never breaks any rules but ends up in a friend group with a bunch of hooligans anyways. Azula is her equally nerdy girlfriend who is a teachers pet and follows rules but will break every rule in sight the second there are no adults to judge her. I imagine they meet because Zuko somehow becomes friends with Sokka and he will never shut up about how fucking awful his little sister is for daring to be better than him an Katara takes personal offense to that and despite not liking Azula befriends her and now they're girlfriends. Yue is also their girlfriend because Polyamory. Yue is sort of like Azula where she is calm and composed goody goody in front of her parents and other adults to maintain family reputations and all that but she's even more feral than Azula. Yue and Azula learned to cut loose together and have been friends since childhood since they run amongst the same rich people circles. They are also friends with Toph. Yue is the one who helps Toph rebel and meet the Gaang. The Beifongs are influencial but I imagine Yue's family are still sort of royalty and they just let their blind daughter go on playdates with Yue for connection purposes.

Jet is the guy that everyone knows. He's also super smart and in the foster system but he basically ends up taking care of the kids at his foster home since the foster parent is incompetent or something. He plans on majoring in Pol Sci and History because Anarchism and Communism are the future. No he will not hear any arguments he's the victim of an oppressive system. Everyone loves Jet. Fuck modern Au's that demonize Jet. Fuck regular fics that demonize Jet. My boy is a chaos baby and liked and or tolerated by all. He burned down a cop car that one time and almost got arrested. Unofficially Azula and Yue helped. Officially both girls were safe at home having a sleep over and no their bodyguards didn't incompetently loose track of two teenage girls.
