the pen pauses against his journal, the ink bleeding into the page before he pulled back. the subtle knock at the door had startled him from his concentration, his train of thought derailed. and perhaps it was for the best. inhaling deeply so as to gather his wits, he placed the journal down on the table, closing the pen within it where he had been jotting down today's debrief. the dreams he'd been experiencing for the past few weeks would be put to rest for now as today was one of importance. he had to be grateful of course. the ad for a roommate had only been posted a couple of weeks when it was answered. he hadn't expected it to come so soon, but with his old roommate moving out with little notification, he had been just short of desperate. at least the response he'd received had painted his potential new roommate as sane. opening the door once he'd pulled on a shirt he'd set on the couch earlier, he smiled at the woman he unveiled. "amara? it's great to finally meet you."
