heisenberg uncertainty (closed @ lipsticksails)
As it turned out, there was only so long you could wander aimlessly without wanting to at least try to find your way around. K had long since acquainted himself with most of the sectors, if only in the most cursory of ways, but sector 1, the supposedly "normal" one, remained a mystery. He'd headed over, taking note of the shops and buildings he passed (like the rooms in his old home, this was how he would try to find his way back) when... well. Something shifted.
...Everything shifted.
While he watched, the shops rearranged themselves around him; he was left standing in front of not a thrift store, but a bar of some sort. The man wasn't familiar with cities, but he was fairly sure this wasn't supposed to happen.
"E-Excuse me," he called to a competent-looking redhead, "do you know what just happened? Or... how to get back?"
