Love, a short Liam oneshot.
Katie was running around the flat, completely flustered. She was wearing one of Liam’s jumpers, a pair of black leggings, and light blue slippers. Her hair was in a messy bun and her face was tear streaked. She was a hot mess and she knew it.
Liam was supposed to be home in less than an hour, and Katie was panicking. She kept pressing her fingers to her temple in an attempt to calm herself down, but then she’d touch her belly and burst into tears again. Katie was pregnant.
It was Liam’s, obviously. They were married after all, and she wasn’t the type to cheat. It was just…. Well they hadn’t talked about it, and it wasn’t planned. Not that it was a mistake or a bad thing. She was thrilled to bits. She was just afraid of Liam’s reaction.
The lock in the door clicked as Liam turned the key, and Katie flopped onto the couch, wiping her eyes a failed attempt to look normal.
“Kates, you home?” He called, stepping in and pulling off his heavy coat and winter boots. It was snowing again.
“Ye – yeah.” She hiccupped. He walked over to her, shaking the snow out of his curls, a worried look on his face.
“You okay Katie?” He asked gently, sitting down beside her. She shook her head violently and started sobbing again. Alarmed, Liam pulled her into his arms, petting her hair comfortingly.
“I’m sorry.” She said eventually, pulling back a bit. “You probably think I’m crazy or bipolar or something, oh god.”
“I don’t think you’re crazy babe. Tell me what’s wrong?”
“Don’t be mad.” She whispered.
“I’m pregnant.” She said softly. He stared at her for a full three seconds, and she looked down, eyes swimming with tears again. Then he grabbed her into a massive bear hug.
“You are? Really?” He whispered, eyes filling with tears. She nodded. “Why are you so upset? This is amazing news!”
She looked up at him, astounded. “So you’re not mad?”
“Why would I be mad?” He asked, laughing lightly. He pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I love you Katie, and starting a family with you is something I’ve always wanted.”
“Oh thank god. I was so worried, we haven’t talked about it or anything.”
“The more important thing though, are you okay with it?”
“I’m ecstatic.” She half laughed, half sobbed.
“Good. Come here.” He said, pulling her back to him for a kiss.
