the conversation between Claire and Sean in the kitchen about being honest with Daniel about The Bedroom fucks with me, man, like she's literally doing the same thing Sean did with Daniel in ep 1 by deceiving him (and deceiving Sean, if you take the dialogue option where you ask if Karen contacted her parents and Claire straight-up pretends she didn't) about a painful contact, inadvertently stringing out the pain for everyone and building to an uglier confrontation later on. And like, Sean knows this is a shitty idea, he knows because he's lived it, he knows exactly how badly things went down in the motel room when Daniel found out, but he can't tell her that because it would risk getting into the weeds of why it was such a shitshow, because he and Daniel are both keeping secrets from their grandparents for reason they (with a bit better reasoning in their case tbh) think is the best option. and this is all before the absolute shitshow with Chris--like, I know the name of this ep was "Rules" but it could also be "Lies" because that's what the whole shitshow is about.
