Thank you!! I give you my first Solavellan drabble ever.

“You promised you’d stay awake.”

With a deep inhalation, Solas’ eyes languidly, reluctantly opened. Gazing upward, a pale face framed by a halo of soft, curly hair steadied into focus. “Forgive me,” he groaned, unsuccessfully trying to dispel the grogginess set upon him. He gripped the book that lay flat on his chest. “I can hardly help it, I’m afraid. There are few places I find more comforting than your thighs, vhenan.”

A playful roll of unnatural red eyes, a shake of her head. “You think yourself so charming.”

He smirked. “Am I not?”

“Unfortunately.” Bending down, she set a soft kiss upon his forehead. “Sleep then, ma lath. I will not keep you somewhere you do not wish to stay.” Lishala averted her attention back to the tome she had been reading.

Solas’ brow furrowed. “I am amazed how you so seamlessly combine disdain and sincerity.”

She let out a single, airy chuckle, turning a delicate page. “Not disdain. A dejected admission of the truth.”

“You suppose I would rather be in the Fade than here with you?”

“No. I suppose you would rather be with me in the Fade.”

“You are not wrong.”

Her lips pursed into a tight line. “I know.”

“This displeases you?”

“Not always,” she candidly admitted.

“But now?”

“Yes.”

So curt, so frank. Honest. No fear in speaking her mind. Stoic as she continued skimming the written words before her.

“Why?”
