From Virgin America’s Coachella party plane to Fendi sending drone cameras down the runway during Fashion Week, you stay on top of the latest trends in technology and media. You have about 3-4 years experience in PR and have always been interested in what’s emerging. You are the first amongst your friends to try out the latest app. You recognize when a celebrity is doing some whack product placement but then also wonder how much that product placement cost and how they got convinced to do it. Your favorite news sites range from Wired to Buzzfeed and PopSugar to Vanity Fair. Coming up with the most perfect story for the writers at these outlets is your idea of a good time and you do this regularly. Your friends and colleagues look to you for advice on everything from pitching the right story to the right reporter to reviewing the draft of an email they’ve written or thinking through a strategy for launching a new app. An active participant in brainstorms, you can think through creative ideas and how to augment them from a media standpoint on the fly, and then you can quickly organize the chaos into notes with actionable steps highlighted. People walk past your desk and are jealous of how organized it is and how many things are crossed off on your to-do list. You take direction well, believe in supporting the team, but also are eager to lead when called upon.
