2019 List Released

THURSDAY EDITION

Last night in the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning, depending on the outlook, Burton Judson Scav gathered in a frantic rush to get access to the 2019 Scav Hunt list, always a mystery.

In previous years, challenges to get the list have included hammering through concrete blocks, finding judges hidden in trees and on bikes around Hyde Park, and completing mini-lists.

This year, Burton Judson Scav is participating as BJ Scav 2019: Mark ZuckerBurton and the Harvard Dropouts. After the usual chanting, singing, and naysaying, the judges emerged, and the teams received a phone, completing various tasks that including making a puzzle, throwing candy in a bucket, and getting tape onto one nose.

Team Lieutenant Lynneah reported to the BJ Scavvie that the team found it “super fun and exciting and nerve racking, but the Harvard dropouts united together to get shit done!”

At midnight on the night of list release, the judges moved out of their lairs to give us the list--but first, a challenge. After a lovely, incredibly well-made presentation on their new sponsor, gerbiltees.biz [which carry t-shirts also for hamsters and chipmunks but are much too small for cats and dogs], they explained the rules.

Sixteen of the judges had left Ida Noyes and were somewhere on campus. They were being GPS-tracked. On go, their locations were revealed in live time on the presentation screen, and we sent out groups in a hurry to find those judges and bring back a token from each. When we had a token from 14 of the 16 judges, we would get the list.

Burton-Judson was the first team to get their list.
