Started my re-read of Great Expectations for my lit class. I loved this book as a teen, but it’s been that long since I’ve read it. Luckily I also have this antique text book of Dickens to help analyze his work. Love an excuse to bust out something from my old book collection! These coasters were a DIY project from a few years ago. Just regular tiles + a sharpie and I have “read & write” in scrabble coasters. Love them. 😍📚

That college procrastination life.

When it’s 12:30 am and you are only  on page 4 of a 5-7 page paper that you had all day to write cause the college cancelled all classes due to the blizzard that when on all day. And its midterms, so you have a shit ton of stuff to do for friday before spring break but you have been rewatching Bones from the beginning, and trolling tumblr.

“What is your current life path?

What is life’s meaning?

What are those aspects of human life which give it meaning?

How do you make moral decisions?

How should a person live?”

These are the questions we were supposed to answer for Literature today. I am sixteen years old. I DON’T KNOW the meaning of life! How dare anyone ask me such personal questions? Like I’d tell Mrs. Barton even if I did know the answers. For the ‘meaning of life’ question, I wrote “TBA,” but now I’m thinking I should just look up “life” in the dictionary and prattle off whatever they say.

I don’t know why this pisses me off as much as it does. I guess it’s because this woman has the audacity to teach the same humdrum shit every year, then as us what we think our lives mean without even telling us what she thought hers meant. No encouragement whatsoever, just write down on loose-leaf college-ruled paper what you think your life means and hand it in by Thursday.

She has got to be kidding me.
