Exploro || Mami + Shu
Though Mami was used to getting a full night's sleep without trouble, the various incidents on the island had left her without the ability to sleep the whole night through and late into the morning. As it was, she usually got up before dawn now. Her morning activities varied from day to day - sometimes she decided on a swim or a jog to keep herself in shape. This morning, however, there was no exercising. The the chilly early morning air, Mami stood gazing at the slowly-lightening horizon. Perhaps this day would bring with it something better that the days before it.
Mami Tomoe dared to hope so.
At the very least, she was able to fight off the despair of the previous day in order to get out of bed. In doing so, she'd resolved to not allow herself to be so upset again. It was this resolve that had carried her to the steps of the door of the hotel's kitchen. With the market burned down and her choice of ingredients limited, it would be a lean breakfast. Thankfully, she'd had the presence of mind enough to hide her stores of various teas in order to ensure that no one ruined those as well. A nice peaceful cup of tea and some toast would be more than enough for breakfast today.
However, it seemed it wasn't to be. When Mami opened the door to the kitchen, it was greeted with the thud of wood meeting something heavy. Mami's heart lept into her throat. Maybe it was just a bag someone had left behind. Her fears were only confirmed when the clicked on the light. Someone was laying on the tile flooring of the kitchen - a boy, to be precise. Scooting between the door and the doorway so as not to disturb the body any more than was necessary, Mami swallowed back her fear. Okay. A dead body. She could do this. She was a champion of justice. A champion of justice should be prepared to see dead bodies.
"E-Excuse me?" Why was she talking to it?! Well, it probably made her feel a little better to do so. "I'm going to examine you now, so please forgive me." Lifting a hand, the female reached out to tug at his sleeve. "I don't see any blood or markings. Were you poisoned? Ah, but there's no one here..." Frowning to herself, Mami glanced around for any evidence of murder. When her golden gaze finally returned to the male, she frowned. "Why would someone want to kill you?"
