hey molly, public or private is fine, i just wanted to say that i really love "i won't go out today," and every time i listen to it i'm struck again by your representation of "the universe" as an entity who would show up on your doorstep to deliver a message to you personally. to me it's kinda reminiscent of how death is represented in the book thief and i love it.
thank you!!! i loved death in “the book thief,” although of course that book made me weep ugly, ugly tears. that song kind of came from one of my favorite poems, which is called “theories about the universe” by blythe baird. i just like the idea of the universe being something that can be like, “hey girl, listen. sorry about this. why don’t you take a knee for a little bit til all this blows over?”
