Of course with only a handful of humans around, it would be completely unreasonable to drain them completely of their blood. Killing them wouldn't do her any good either, they were a necessary evil. As much as she despised the idea she needed to find a supplement for the time being.
Having previously asked her demon on the matter, she was told that the rats running around were actually humans punished for their sins. As outlandish as that sounded, it was partially believable in a place as twisted as this. After managing to capture one, the vampire began second guessing the demon's words and her actions. In her hands was what looked to be an ordinary disgusting rat. However, it wasn't as if she would have a choice in this matter if it turns out the demon's words were in fact true.
With a look of pure disgust on her face and forcing her eyes shut, she decided to bite the bullet. Plunging her fangs into the side of the squirming beast. Pulling back immediately after she got a taste of the rat's blood. It was bad enough to make her one to throw up on the spot.
"Lying useless bi-" Freezing up on the spot the moment she saw a shadow cast over her. Someone had witnessed her perform such a vile act. The rat was still in her hands squealing with two fresh holes on it's side while fresh blood trickled down her face. It would be impossible to lie her way out of this, all the proof was right before their eyes.
