With Charlie’s help, Sam managed to get the boys fed and in PJs. But now they’re negotiating. In case you were wondering, Dean is very logical and convincing at four years old. And Cas? Well, just look at those puppy dog eyes. Who can say no to that? 

Poor Sammy has a long journey ahead... 

Part One - in which Sam & Gabe get into a lovers quarrel and Gabe de-ages Dean & Cas so Sam is stuck to deal with them

Little!Dean verse.

Dean is moving out, not completely of course, he’ll always have a room ready for him with Sam and Gabriel, but he’s finally moving out to live with Cas.

Sam is terrified of how Gabriel will react. He’s dealt with tears and tantrums for the best part of Deans life, but seeing Gabriel upset was haunting.

Gabriel on the other hand is more concerned about Sam. The idea that Dean wasn’t going to be around for every meal hadn’t sunk in yet.

It turns out the most emotional one is Dean. He cries. A lot. So much so Gabriel actually pushes him into Castiels little Prius. Leans over and buckels him up, too. Sam had to pack Deans things, his brother too emotional to even find the handle on the luggage.

He was embarrassed about it later - mortified even. But somehow, Dean being the most upset actually made it easier for Sam and Gabriel, knowing that the little boy they raised truly felt cherished had them smiling as they waved goodbye.

It was 1 am Friday morning and all was quiet in the Winchester house... well almost all quiet.

“Sammy. Sammy, wake up.” Dean whispered as he toddled into Sam’s bedroom and a smile lit up the five-year-old’s face at the sight of his one-year-old brother sitting up and waiting for him. 

“Dee.” Sam cooed happily as he clapped his hands together, nothing made him happier than the sight of his big brother. 

Dean smiled a plan already forming inside of his head, no crib was keeping him from playing with his baby brother. “Just a moment Sammy.” Dean needed to make sure that it was safe for Sam to land. 

Sam let out a little giggle and bounced on his feet as he watched Dean moved the white fluffy rug from the middle of the room to in front of his crib. 

“Okay Sammy, you can do it jump.” Dean encouraged his brother holding out his arms to catch Sam. 

Wanting nothing more than to be in Dean’s arms Sam scrambled and did his best to climb out of his little prison only to fall back on his diaper behind when he failed. “Dee.” Sam let out a little sniffle as he looked up at his brother with tears building in his eyes. 

A sight that Dean hated. “Don’t cry, Sammy. I get you out.” Dean promised and he never broke a promise to his little brother. Taking another look around the room Dean’s green eyes lit up when he spotted on of the chairs around his and Sam’s play table. Giving a firm nod Dean knew it would work. 

Sam could only watch in awe as his big brother lowered a chair into his crib, wanting to help out his big brother Sam did his best to straighten up the chair. 

“It’s okay Sammy, I got it.” The last thing Dean wanted Sam to do was hurt himself, he would never forgive himself if Sam got hurt. 

Doing as his big brother ordered Sam took a step back as Dean climbed into the crib and after a few tries got the chair up on its legs. “Follow me, Sammy.” Dean wanted to make sure Sam saw how to do it first and he also wanted to be on the other side so he could help Sam out. 

“Ok, Dee.” Sam would do whatever his big brother wanted. Sam watched with curious eyes at how Dean escaped.

“Come on Sammy, come to me.” Dean held out his arms waiting for Sam to jump in them. 

Letting out a little huff as he refused to stay trapped any longer, wanting to be in his brother’s arms Sam did his best to copy Dean, the moment he felt Dean’s arms wrap around him Sam let out a happy coo and wrapped his own arms around Dean letting him pull him the rest of the way out of his crib Sam knew he was free. 

Once Dean had Sam on his feet Dean took Sam’s hand in his and led him over to their toys.  “Come on Sammy, let’s play.”

And happy to back by Dean’s side Sam would do whatever his big brother wanted. 

John Winchester was not surprised when he went to check on his children that he found them curled up together surrounded by their toys with Sam using Dean as a pillow and Dean’s arms wrapped tightly around his baby brother. 

Nor was he surprised when the camera flash went off beside him as Mary joined him a look of pure awe on her face. 

“Maybe we should start letting them share a room. Dean always helps Sam make his little prison breaks in the night. They might actually stay in their beds this way.” John suggested as he moved towards his two sleeping sons, knowing from experience that trying to break them apart would only result in tears, screams, kicks, and tantrums, it was better for everyone involved to carry both boys and put them in the same bed together and wait until they wake up before trying to explain to them again why night was for sleeping and not playing.
