so @starlightweave wrote a post a while ago about the names of the years each companion was born in, and seeing the names given to Astarion's birth and death years did me in, so ofc I had to paint something and get the angst out...

if you know me, you know I like a smidge of symbolism so the flowers are asters - aster means star, and white asters signify purity and innocence </3

🎄You see wandering around a small girl dressed like a Christmas Elf looking slightly lost

Being a skilled magic user, the magic around her is very easy to spot, its a peppermint that blends in with the scent of Cinnamon and pine trees that everyone else can recognise.

She is also carrying a small object which links her christmas-y holiday themed magic with an adjacent type of pumpkins and halloween.

They seem deep in thought chewing on a candy cane, looking around but not at anything in particular 🎄

Zatanna noticed the elf during her show. She especially noticed the magic coming off the girl as she wandered around. It wasn't uncommon for magic beings to show their faces at her shows so Zee wasn't worried yet. If she stuck around after the show she'll check on her.

The girl was still there after the show still looking just as lost. Alright now might be the time to worry. Zee walked up to the girl smiling just as she would if she was about to perform. She then knelt down to the kid(?) It was always hard to tell with magic beings. "Hey lovebug, you look a little lost, is there somewhere or someone I can help you get to?"

Now that she was close to her Zee could feel ghostliness coming off her. That left a bad taste in the back of her mouth..

Watch your step, heed caution where you wander, and above all else, never show your fear. 

Inspiration finds us at odd times, doesn't it? I thought this up while driving my semi truck in the spring, I passed a swampy area with a downed tree. The upturned roots were closest to me, and in the new growth my mind saw this. So I had to realize it didn't I?

This is a couple years ago and is definitely due for a redraw
