I fought Google Docs for this and won

Tkachuk holds out his arms, bare wrists up, pale skin on display in an ancient form that Leon hasn’t seen beyond pictures. Okay, perhaps it isn’t ancient, but it is not the done thing and hasn’t been in a long time - so it’s odd for someone as young as Tkachuk to do it.

Not that the sight of those vulnerable wrists, paler than the rest of Tkachuk’s skin, doesn’t awaken something in Leon. He is being given something precious, something that isn’t easy for Tkachuk to give up. Something not without risks for Tkachuk, and… It’s like Leon’s dog baring his belly to Leon, trusting him to take care of Bowie’s needs.

“Is this how you want it?” Leon has to make sure.

It earns him an eye roll. “I’ll tell you if I don’t. Can you just… Oh.”

👀👀👀 basically it's sentinel!Connor and guide!Jack, and they meet at the U17s - well, I guess technically they know of each other before then, but they meet at the tournament and realize they're a perfect match why yes I will try and work soulmates into everything why do you ask, and they eventually bond their rookie year.

I'm trying to think of what else I can say that doesn't give away plot stuff 🤔🤔🤔 Connor’s spirit guide is a wolf named Jasper, and Jack's is a black panther named Callie. Both of their parents are mundanes (people who aren't sentinels or guides) and they handle them coming online with varying degrees of success.

Most of my favorite NTDP guys are going to be in there, and I guess some Canadians are allowed too 🤣🤣 I'm having a lot of fun writing and I'm hoping to get it finished soon-ish!

Fic premise that 100% sounds like the kind of thing you would write: Derek Hale is one of the first werwolves allowed to play in the NHL. Stiles has heard a lot of things about werewolves, but Derek Hale isn't what he thought he'd be, not to mention being handsome and talented to boot. Stiles' jock may be getting a little tight.

You are right and you should say it.

At first people thought it just wouldn’t be fair, having wolves up against humans. Clearly they must have a massive advantage on the ice with their superior senses. Clearly they can track the puck better and they have more strength to knock someone off the puck

Except... They can get more easily overwhelmed than humans at all the noise, and they have to be so very careful and in control of their strength to even play against humans. Werewolves gets suspensions easier, it’s really easy to draw a penalty against a werewolf... It’s not as simple as people think it is.

Stiles doesn’t know a lot about werewolves. He’s heard so much about them, but some of that stuff just sounds... dumb? Like they pulled it directly from Twilight fanfiction? Because there’s no way that werewolves turn into actual wolves. Right, Derek? RIGHT?

Stiles hasn’t been in the NHL that long. This is only his second season, and he’s never played with a wolf on his team before. He’s played against one, once or twice, but usually they make sure to get the big guys up against the wolves. And Stiles may be a lot of things, but... He’s not one of the big guys.

Enter Derek Hale. Undrafted, but mostly because wolves don’t get drafted. A couple teams were tempted to try, for him, but Gary fucking Bettman wouldn’t let them. So when wolves are finally allowed, Derek Hale walks onto the first training camp that’ll take him. And makes the team. Some people are pissed, Stiles is both scared and horny about it.

Stiles is pretty sure that Derek Hale doesn’t possess a sense of humor. He’s also pretty sure that he’d still like to climb him like a tree.

OMG, they were linemates.

Yeah, I’m gonna keep being me. I think my favorite response, in terms of making me laugh the loudest, was ‘don’t you think if a bunch of people tell you that you should stop [using a term for yourself that you were using ten years before I was born] that you should’

And by that mindset, the fact that TERFs swarm trans people every time they talk would be ‘evidence’ that trans people shouldn’t exist, or shouldn’t talk. (That’s how TERFs think.)

A bunch of people can think something and be wrong.

Anyway, I set up my filters and blocked a bunch of people and I’m moving on. I literally can’t see them if they’re still going.

Question: when books go on sale versus off sale, does that affect how much the author makes? I want to support authors so I'm willing to wait to buy books when theyre not on sale but not if that money will just goto the publishers instead. Or will that even make a noticeable difference?

This feels like an excellent question for @roselarkpublishing cause honestly, I have no idea :D

Just from how I understand it, a good way of thinking of it is that any book sale helps the author. It boosts their visibility to the various different algorithms they’re competing to be seen in, which raises their sales rank and therefore their overall visibility to new potential readers. I don’t know how it affects what they take home, but I do know every little bit helps, so even if you can only afford to wait for sales, you’re still helping the author out :)
