Dolls X-over Meeting Huntrix: Part 1 Meeting Bobby
Because of course the dolls can’t do anything by halves.
Bobby woke up in a dark room seated at a table. There was a single light shining overhead that lit the table, but left the rest of the room fairly dark. Yep, if there was an interrogation room, this would certainly be it.
He only recently found out about the whole thing with his girls fighting demons, and okay, yeah, that was definitely a freaky conversation to have and, yes, he was still confused about the whole thing, but they were still his girls and he was still their manager so he was fully on board to support them! So he would never betray them! And whatever demon attacks there may be, he would continue to support them to the best of his ability!
"Come on! Show yourselves!"
He was expecting something tall and creepy. A burly monster or a big looming flame like at the Saja Boys concert.
He was not expecting small. Or cute.
But small and cute was indeed what he got as a little red and black-spotted being walked into the light on the table. It looked like a doll. With button eyes and blue hair in pigtails? And omigosh, there was another one! And this one was wearing black and with blond hair? And were those cat ears? They were! And a tail!
Bobby immediately melted.
“Awww! You are adorable!”
The red doll gave a little curtsy while the black one smiled at the praise. And oh wow the tail was moving! And the ears perked.
Bobby bit his lip, fighting not to coo the sheer Adorableness!
The adorableness that were demons who were clearly plotting something and had him hostage so PULL IT TOGETHER, BOBBY!
He coughed and tried to regain his composure.
"Oh. You're....a bit smaller and not as scary as I expected demons to be." He said, trying to sound tougher and like he hadn’t had a moment of weakness.
The red doll frowned, looking offended. The cat doll stuck out his tongue, which...okay, he didn't know they could do that but demons could do a lot of things it seemed.
Right! Stall! Stall for time!
"So, why am I here?"
Get info! Good strategy! Get information to share with the girls so they could figure out whatever these demons were plotting! That was step one, then step two would be try to live long enough for the girls to save him so they could make use of that information.
He trailed off as the red doll pushed a piece of paper forward. He frowned at her, a bit confused before picking it up since for kidnappers, they didn't tie him up or anything.
It was a little drawing of Huntrix.
The cat doll pointed at it.
Oh boy. Play dumb.
"So what? Are you wanting an autograph?" He asked, trying to pretend to misunderstand their intentions.
.....except it turned out he had completely understood their intentions because both of the dolls nodded.
Bobby blinked.
"Wait, really? You're wanting their autographs?"
The red doll nodded again. The catboy doll was even bouncing a bit. They both looked downright excited.
“Yeah, sure sure! Which do you want?” He asked as he started pulling out extra copies of the photographs he kept on his person at any time in case of emergencies. Pre-signed and everything. He shuffled them with the grace of a card shark and spread out an array like a fan.
“I’ve got team shots, individual shots, album cover shots! A couple extras from events and the celebration party for the Golden release. One from the stage performance for What It Sounds Like with the new outfits—“
The cat doll’s eyes got big and shiny at the options. He pointed to a small pocket-sized picture of the trio hugging.
Bobby hesitated. Should he be giving photos to the strange little doll demon? What if they were part of some magic that could use the pictures to hurt the girls? Or do some evil contract through their signatures?
He glanced down to the little thing only to be met with the biggest set of eyes he had ever seen.
Hit to the heart!
Despite his reservations, Bobby handed over the picture. “Just be careful with it.“
The cat doll nodded, taking the photo happily before turning into the red one, who had apparently left for a moment as she now had what appeared to be a picture frame. The two then worked together to set the photograph inside the tiny frame and within minutes, they had the photograph perfectly framed. Which the cat doll then hugged.
Aww, they were fans!
Feeling more reassured, Bobby turned to the red one. “And you?“
Red pointed to a group picture with the girls and Bobby.
“And here is yours!” He said as he handed it over. But unlike her counterpart, she didn’t frame it. Instead, set it down on the table and tapped it before looking at him.
“What’s wrong?“
She mimed writing something.
Bobby frowned. “But it has their signatures?“
She shook her head and pointed to him.
“Me?” He asked, pointing to himself in surprise. “You want my signature?“
Nod nod.
“No no, I couldn’t possibly—“ he said as he was already pulling out a pen.
Honestly, she was so sweet! It made him wanna cry!
With a flourish, his signature was added to the picture and handed over to the little red doll. She looked downright thrilled. Not even evil. Just happy. Like a fan!
“So are you two not demons?“
The two shook their heads and gave unhappy faces at the mention of demons. Okay, then he had to guess they were probably something else, but for life of him couldn’t figure out what.
As long as they weren’t evil or planning to harm him or the girls, he was more than happy to meet another fan.
“But you know,” he started feeling a little lost, “you didn't have to do the whole 'kidnap and torture' thing, right?"
The red doll frowned, waving her hands insistently.
"Not kidnap?"
The catboy doll left the lit area for a moment before returning pushing a tray covered in a silver dome lid.
"Not torture?"
The two pointed to the dome.
He stared at the dome before looking at the two. They stared at him, clearly waiting.
It hit him.
"Is this a bribe?"
The red doll nodded proudly.
"You know," he said, "you shouldn't be kidnapping people, even if it is to bribe them for an autograph."
Bobby lifted the lid, revealing a rather stunning opera cake.
He stared.
"This had better be the best opera cake I've ever had."
So I had a thought @nobodyfamousposts‘ Pinocchio story in the Dolls AU...
When Conner calls later that night,(in the DC cross) Adrien picks up and mentions that the dolls are eating cookies with Mama, because Papa is grounded because he chose the wrong movie.
Conner asks why and Adrien suddenly clams up before screaming that Pinocchio is now and FOREVER forbidden to watch.
The Team overhears this as Conner fumbles the phone and turns on speaker-phone by accident. M’gann asks why and is then stopped by Robin who simply asks “The Lampwick Scene?”
Adrien Replies with a dark “yes” and refuses to say more than forbidding Conner to even speak of this conversation before calling Marinette to take the phone.
Later that week Conner’s curiosity gets the better of him and he watches it with M’gann. As Lampwick appears on screen he leans forward, determined to discover what had scared his siblings about this character.
Then it begins, as Lampwick begins to change Conner goes stiff.
When Lampwick realizes what is happening Conner stops breathing altogether.
.As Lampwick’s transformation progresses he rips two fist-sized chunks out of the sofa.
As the ever horror-inducing Mama cries turn to Donkey brays he leaps up, rips the entertainment system off of the floor and launches it through 2 walls before taking off at a dead sprint for the Zeta-beam.
Marinette soon has the eldest-yet-youngest of her children wrapped around her and his siblings as he refuses to speak.
M’gann herself is ripping Adrien out of bed telekinetically and calling Robin to Mt. Justice so to begin plotting a conspiracy to ensure nothing of that movie can ever appear in the mountain again.
