Hey there Jazz. I'm such a big fan. Pressure verse remains one of my fave fics ever. I've always been curious about how you portray and see Phoenix. Is it something unique on Pressure verse that Phoenix lies so bad that anyone close to him can read him easily? Versus Canon that many people either have him that he's just good at hiding his thoughts because the game just expresses to players his thoughts? Or he is still the same emotional man but is so awkward and his acting in theater makes him good at pretending? Because he's so evasive about anything himself. Pssst. Any also any hint of next update? Hehehe.

Wow, so I had to take a second to think about this question. In its DNA, Pressureverse is a 'In Want of a Nail' story - the joke of 'what if Phoenix got therapy post-Dahlia' explored with narrative consequences. As a result, the Phoenix that takes shape over the course of the adjusted plot is one that-- while certainly not smoothed of character flaw or mentally prime lol-- has learned that even if he doesn't believe that his troubles or concerns should be shared (for arrogant or trauma-related reasons), he has learned that he likes and needs the support he receives from other people who take notice. In a way, the joke about his being a bad liar is evidence to progress in his relationships that diverges meaningfully from canon. He's a character that's not capable or willing to ask for help in many ways, but in Pressureverse, at least, he's begun to "telegraph" through chosen lies when he has needs. It's a changed indicator of his mental health, but it's a character flaw I gave him intentionally, because to make Phoenix a "bad liar" was an indirect way of writing the other characters-- particularly female characters-- as BETTER listeners. A lot of characters in Ace Attorney often share one major trait, and that's perception/emotional sensitivity, but only when narratively convenient for a video game sometimes. But in writing, or in Pressure at least, the key relationship is Phoenix and Maya's. Phoenix is a frequent liar who IS capable of lying well, but to people who know him, even when he's not half-assing it, they would learn to pick up on it. Why wouldn't Maya be sensitive over time to who he is, and when he's struggling?

Basically, Phoenix being a "bad liar" is a trait that is altogether a bit, intentional character development/canon divergence, and biased based on the POV character of the chapter. (Ex. Characters like Edgeworth and Klavier wouldn't describe him as a bad liar, but a lot of the other more sensitive characters in his life would!)

Sorry for how lengthy this was! As for an update, I'd cross my fingers for after the holidays... right now, I'm working on a Metal Gear Solid fic ;)

For HTLB, we had a bit of info on Inuyasha's side. Do we also get to explore Kagome's side? With him evebtually visiting Kagome's family? Hahaha.

Oh yes! 100%! I had actually planned to have him meet her family sooner and have written part of it out already, so I’ll definitely be popping it in somewhere! So, yes. He will absolutely be meeting her family and you all know mama Higurashi is going to be just as obsessed with his ears as her daughter is lmfao. That’ll be a trip for him, I’m sure.

I was just doing a comparison. I wonder if it's just me or just Sora? In the beginning of Kh3, you see Sora wearing his old clothes. His crown necklace is long, esp the chain. After changing clothes, did the chain get shorter or is it his sleeveless shirt, the cut is lower, assuming his outfit in kh2 has a higher cut on his neck? I'm confused and I suck in how I say it in english.

No, I get what you’re saying! 

I think it’s because of the character renders/character designs for each game. They’re meant to show that Sora’s growing older, and as he does, he’s getting bigger and taller. The necklace hasn’t changed size; he has. It used to fall really low on his chest, and the bigger he gets the shorter it looks, not because it’s getting smaller, but because he’s getting taller and his chest is getting broader.

His shirts also get progressively lower cut, too, till he’s rocking a v-neck in KH3. I’d have to look closer at the scenes again in KH3, but it matches pretty well with the renders and character art for him in past games, and it sounds like the beginning of KH3 was trying to be consistent with that. Even if it doesn’t necessarily make sense for him to suddenly gain a bunch of muscle like that unless Herc really helped him buff up which hey, completely possible! He did want to get his lost strength back...

Taking a closer look at some character art and renders, in KH1, the necklace falls nearly halfway down his chest and rests flat because he’s still on the scrawny side. His shirt/onesie thing is also pretty high cut.

In KH2 the necklace seems a little higher up, and he has more muscle definition. The necklace still lies pretty flat though, and his shirt shows slightly more of his neck but not much:

And in KH3 the muscles in his chest are more clearly defined, and his necklace is no longer lying flat. I think that’s partly why it looks so much shorter - it can’t hang flat anymore because his pecs are stopping it from doing so. And he is now rocking the v-neck:

So, uh, in-universe conclusion is that his new wardrobe shows how much Hercules helped him buff up? Looking at the KH2 costume and KH3 costume renders for KH3, though, the necklace doesn’t actually look too different in terms of length. It’s more that he looks more muscular in his KH3 costume render than he is in his KH2 costume render.

I have the same problem with my tumblr too. How did you contact the staff? Any updates?

After clicking help, I went to the bottom of the page that it takes you to and clicked the “Contact support” option.  So far, no new updates from my end, and my work still hasn’t been seen on searches at all. But, I’m going to give it another day or two before I start massively worrying.

At least, trying not to. lol
