Vampires, witches and ghouls would soon flood the streets,
House to house they would go,
Bags filled to the brim with sugary treats,
'Don't eat too much',the parents would say,
'The nightmares will lead you away'.
Little Tim dressed as a ghastly ghoul,
Went house by house as his novelty pumpkin bag filled up with treats,
His eyes gleamed with happiness at the sight of the growing pile of sweets,
'Little Tim, little Tim!' His mother called,
'It's time to come home',
The boy did as his mother asked and trotted home.
Upon reaching home little Tim poured his loot onto the floor,
An array of brightly coloured wrappers flooded the floor,
From skull shaped lollipops to mini chocolates,
Little Tim dug into the pile,
Wrappers soon formed a pile next to him,
The pile growing bigger by the second,
'Little Tim, little Time, no more sweets, it's time for bed' his mother said,
Little Tim crawled into bed with pieces of chocolate still smeared on his face,
'Goodnight little Tim' his mother softly said,
Little Tim's eyes slowly closed and fell asleep.
Vampires, witches and ghouls flooded the streets,
But these weren't children dressed in costumes,
These were scary monsters who seemed real to little Tim,
But little Tim wasn't outside,
Or so he thought.
Little Tim wandered the streets in a sleep walking state,
No one saw little Tim walking through the streets,
Or saw him head towards the forest,
The forest was a maze of trees,
Many parents told their children,
'Stay away from that forest!',
Although curious, the children obeyed their parents words,
But no one was there to stop little Tim,
And he carried on towards the forest.
As the morning sun rose,
Little Tim's mother screamed as she found little Tim's bed empty,
As days passed, Little Tim was no were to be seen,
Little Tim's mother feared the worst as her little Tim was lost,
People stopped looking for little Tim,
Unsure if he was alive out there or lost,
Maybe even dead.
'Don't eat too much', parents would say,
'The nightmares will lead you away'.
