Wolf Cub - Valko/MC
Main Masterlist
Little Wolf July Masterlist
Rating: G
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: None. Pure Fluff
Summary:
Valko brings MC to visit the cubs in his care.
“My Val, who trains every day, struggles to keep up with a group of children?” you tease, circling him with a shake of your head. “What good is all that endurance training, then?” “Wolf cubs are no joke. If even I struggle against them, then a hunter like you stands no chance,” Valko says. He pulls you close and inhales your scent. “Val? The kids are watching,” you whisper. “I don’t care. Let them. Can we please stay like this for a moment?” Valko nuzzles into the crook of your neck, breathing deeply. “I need to recharge before the puppers run me ragged.”
Note:
I can tell I really liked this prompt since I wrote it so quickly haha. I love the concept of Valko playing with all the children in his pack, or maybe he takes in kids who don't have parents and makes sure they're cared for. Either one has ovary-exploding potential.
Enjoy the Valko fluff, because we all know we need it!
Happy Reading! (。・∀・)ノ゙
“Big Brother, Valko!” A chorus of high-pitched voices pierces the air, and the ground tremors with dozens of footsteps.
Waves of children exit the building, rushing towards Valko as they all dogpile onto him.
Valko t-poses and spins around with at least three kids dangling on each arm. He reminds you of an amusement park ride, and their combined laughter fills your chest with warmth.
As more children launch themselves at Valko, he pretends to struggle under their weight, feigning a loss of balance. He looks over his shoulder before cleanly landing with his back against the ground. “AH! You got me!”
Your smile softens as you watch them roll around in the grass, and you can’t help but think about what a great father Valko would be. You stand off to the side, listening to the giggles and squeals as the children talk over one another.
“Big Brother, did you bring treats?”
“Valko, will you play with us today?”
“Uncle Valko, you promised to read us a story the next time you visit.”
“Hey! I’m not that old,” Valko protests. He tickles their sides and playfully snaps his teeth at them.
The children screech with joy, dispersing and running away from the big bad wolf.
You approach Valko and offer him a hand, brushing grass blades from his hair. “I didn’t know you were so good with children.”
Valko flushes and takes your hand. He rises to his feet and dusts off his pants. “Kids love me. Maybe it’s because I’m a big child on the inside, but I wish I had their boundless energy.”
“My Val, who trains every day, struggles to keep up with a group of children?” you tease, circling him with a shake of your head. “What good is all that endurance training, then?”

“Val? The kids are watching,” you whisper.
“I don’t care. Let them. Can we please stay like this for a moment?” Valko nuzzles into the crook of your neck, breathing deeply. “I need to recharge before the puppers run me ragged.”
“They’re not that bad, right?”
Valko doesn’t answer you right away.
“...You’ll see.” There’s a smile in his tone, and a sense of dread creeps up your spine.
“Big brother, who’s this?” A little girl, who you later learn is named Selene, tugs on the hem of Valko’s shirt. Her eyes sparkle with curiosity. The fluffy tail behind her wags slowly.
Valko’s cheeks turn crimson, and he gathers the children around to introduce you.
“This is your new big sister,” he says.
The children murmur amongst themselves, all of them sneaking glances at you.
“Then, is she your sister, Valko?” one of the kids asks. Valko nearly chokes on his spit.
“But she doesn’t smell like a wolf,” another points out.
“You dummy! Big brother’s scent is all over her; it’s obvious who she is!”
And thus, a small debate ignites over your identity.
You bite your lip to hold back your laughter, looking at Valko with raised brows. The poor man looks lost, drowned out by the high-pitched voices and hushed whispers. You pat his shoulder before squatting down to eye level with the children, and you give them your name. “I’m his… what word does your pack use? Mate?”
Tiny gasps ripple across the crowd, and dozens of large eyes burn into your face. Suddenly, you’re swarmed, surrounded by twitching ears and wagging tails. They crowd around you, asking you questions and begging you to play with them.
“Alright, alright. What do you all want to play?” you ask.
The kids look at each other and nod. They open their mouths and scream, “HIDE AND SEEK.”
“Big brother is too good at seeking, and he always finds us quickly. It’s not fun playing with him,” Selene says.
You look over at Valko, and he smirks, tapping his nose. You roll your eyes and turn your attention back to the children.
“Okay, how about I count down from 100? Keep in mind that this is my first time visiting, so I’m not familiar with this place. It might take me longer to find everyone,” you say. Dozens of fluffy ears wiggle as the kids nod, and they all run away giggling as you cover your eyes and count down.
A strong pair of arms wrap around your waist, and heat flares against your back. You uncover your eyes and glance over your shoulder. The next number dies on your tongue.
Valko curls his tail around your thigh. His usual tone softens, and he gazes at you fondly. “You’re not so bad yourself with kids. Maybe… we can have our own cubs one day—if you want to. Or we can continue raising puppers here. There’s no shortage of strays to take in, and every child deserves a safe and loving home.”
You smile and tilt his face to kiss him. A small whine shatters the silence when you pull away. His hold on you tightens.
“We’ll see,” you say, brushing your thumb across his bottom lip.
Valko buries his face in your shoulder and groans. His tail thumps gently against your leg. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself later when I see you” —he shudders, and his hand caresses your stomach— “playing with the kids and acting motherly towards them.
You hum and lean into him. “Even if I don’t want cubs right now, that doesn’t mean we can’t practice.”
“Practice?” Valko’s throat bobs, and he stills, wondering if his wolfish hearing has failed him.
“Only if you behave for the rest of the day. If you prove to me that you can be a good boy, then we can practice making cubs—little pups of our own.” Your words spark an inferno, and you begin to sweat from the heat seeping into your back.
“Big Sister, it’s already past 100!” a faraway voice squeaks.
You grin and kiss Valko’s cheek, leaving him behind, dazed. “Ready or not, here I come!”
End Note:
Next prompt is Protector! And I have no clue what I'm going to do lmao. That one might end up on the shorter side purely because I have no ideas coming to me right away. I want to avoid Valko protecting MC in a fight because I feel like that's too simple.
Maybe I'll have MC be Valko's protector instead!
I'll see you guys at my next hyperfixation! (。・∀・)ノ
Reblogs are appreciated!
