In 2022: My Chemical Romance performed their 24th show of the 2022-2023 Swarm tour in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. This show was the first time the studio version of "The World is Ugly" was performed live. At this show, Gerard Way wore a custom made vintage cheerleader dress, and "I Bet it WAS YOU" was written on the drums. (🖤)

What's fun about set 2, is it looks like us in the states WILL get a chance to see those cool songs they debuted live in Europe!! As well as the other rotating songs we didn't get to see last time around. Aww, everyone's getting their turn

And Night Terror! WOWWWWWWWW. This is the strongest I've ever SEEN them on it even though I've heard this song a BAJILLION times

Portnoy hit SUCH a sick one-handed stick toss while his other hand was playing during the halftime break near the end of Night Terror
He is and will forever be, so fucking cool
That must've been SO satisfying to land. I get flashbacks to the Budokan commentary convo about stick tosses :P It's also fun to see them get SO stoked when the crowd reacts during Night Terror. Seeing them happy makes me happy :')
Jordan shredding the FUCK out of the Fun Part of A Broken Man on tilted piano thooooo let's fucking GOOOOOO. I LOVE that part!! It's great hearing these songs now that I know this album like the back of my hand
I'll also take this moment to glaze the shit out of the lighting and effects. The smoke in full color is SO impactful. Especially fun when each geyser goes off at a different time highlighting the beat. Chef's fucking kiss
James in particular is on FIRE. The way he emotes live REALLY adds a lil somethin somethin. He must've worked so hard for this :') I love him to death, and seeing him succeed always brings me no end of joy, especially knowing how he's struggled in the past with his voice
You can tell they're a lil nervous on the live debut of these songs, being a lot more focused. You guys did great!! They loosened the fuck up on Midnight Messiah which they've played a billion times. That made me smile
Cute to see Jordan air drumming during the parts when he didn't play hahaha
And JP coming over to hang out with James, and James going over to hang out with JM :) :) :)
Is the Midnight Messiah guitar solo a big highlight for anyone else? I love it to death hahaha
Also fucking love the weird bell motif theme on Are We Dreaming that shows up in a bunch of other songs
THE CROWD CHEERING WHEN BEND THE CLOCK STARTS! A new fan favorite :) James absolutely SLAYS BTC. And oh my god… JP sounds GLORIOUS. Oh I got to the point where the sound cut out. Oops :P There's something so goddamn nostalgic about that solo… I love it to bits. WHEN I GOT TO THE NEW PART OF THE SOLO I SCREAMED!!!! I'm SOOO hype. I LOVE how he added to it
Also can I glaze that I really love the way Mike plays when JP solos? It almost feels like a jam. I'll never get enough of the chemistry between these two
So funny that we had to wait 7 months for the ending of that solo!! Season end cliffhanger of the century vibes. But what a satisfying conclusion!!

Well, as much as I'm personally not a fan of the aesthetics of the AI art, I absolutely LOVE the choice to put the name of the song on the screen big in that font!! It makes it feel so cinematic, like when the title screen finally comes on in a movie
The fucking star wars part is SO hard to remember how the rhythm goes LMAO (I'm pretty sure I've NEVER played it all the way through without fucking up!). I got all nervous instinctively watching the tape hahaha. They did so good though!!
The Shadow Man is my FAV FAV FAV on the WHOLE record. It's SO SO SO good live I could cry!!!

Can I just say there are some CRAZY fucking bass lines in this. SO fun to watch JM go!!
Also I must once again give my kudos to the audience - for everyone clapping EXACTLY on time. It sounded like one clap LMAO. Never in my life have I been to a show where the audience claps more on time than a Dream Theater show
No, fuck it, this song is a MASTERPIECE. Hearing it like this in a new way, I just really appreciate the composition <3 <3 <3

Haha cuuute, they had a lil fuckup at the end there right before Terrifying Nightmares - I guess they had a miscommunication! Cool to see how they recover when shit like that happens. Really smooth recovery. Didn't let it get to them tho!!
LMAO it's so funny, I'm so used to hearing the cut on "Terrifying n-IghtMARES" on the record so it tripped me up a lil to hear it sung normal live 😆

At the end of the video I watched, Mike does a lil like swinging a bat motion. And a lady near the camera says "hit it out of the ballpark!" AWWW!!

I finally am home and able to watch the performances in full and wow. Just wow. I am so emotional FOR the boys. I know it’s been said over and over, but to see their growth and to hear them absolutely killing it…gods. It’s beautiful. I’m so happy!! I just hope to see them one day!
