Oh my gods everytime something happens, someone runs to get Jack to do something about it. No one else swims? What is that?
On one hand, Jack has a ridiculous need to barge in and do everything and this is one of his many flaws. He should seriously be addressing this. On the other hand, nearly everone else on the island has a severe Someone Else's Problem attitude.
Now Jack's blaming himself for never having talked to her despite doing everything else for everybody (aside from fixing the radio, catching boars, and officiating funerals). Gods damn it, Jack.
