ouuuguguguhghg, I'm in pain. Writing program pain. Also I fell like a bitch and sprained my arm, but needing to evacuate my writing program hurts my soul more than bodily harm.
I started out on Google Docs ever since I got a chromebook from my high-school, and must admit I did genuinely enjoy living in that digital space for years. When the AI-enshittening began, I heard about how Google scrapes all your shit ever, so I made an effort to leave. That brought me to LivingWriter. I shelled out monthly money to make a home for myself on LivingWriter.
But now they're integrating AI too? Sure, it's all opt in and as ethical as they can make it, and you only gain access if you pay for it? Sounds cool, not for me, yep, cool, bye- NOPE, they have to include a little button that's CONSTANTLY at the corner of your writing space. A button for the service I haven't paid for`? Just a button to offer me to pay for the thing I don't want? A button that's IMPOSSIBLE to remove???
I just cancelled my subscription. I have six days to get out of there. All I want is a decent writing program with cloud features that I can use on both my computer(s) and my android phone.
Turning up on Google's doorstep to shelter from the storm like this feels like sleeping with an abusive ex. Shit hurts. oouggouuuuuhhh- ow my arm.
