What’s pretty understandable, kavra rarely ever compete with centaurs in any sports. An average centaur weighs approximately 5 times as much as a kavra, not to mention completely different advantages and disadvantages of their unique bodytype.
However, at one point in history a team of centaur dockers managed to take part in kavras’ Games, and despite losing in several disciplines, they were dangerously close to winning the championships.
I’ve taken part in a fantasy/worldbuilding contest, and as the theme was sport, I thought that including something from Liwarn (the homebrew land Xaere, my OC comes from) would be a nice idea.
That of course called for an illustration, which in turn made me do a first ever colored visualisation of kavra, one of the intelligent species which inhabit Liwarn. Kavra are actually the most important political force on the continent, which apart from them is home to centaurs, dragons and so-called lizardfolk or drakefolk. Kavra vaguely resemble anthropomorphic omnivores or predators, altough it’s hard to decide which one of them in particular. They tend to have long tails and manes, the stylisation of which reflects social status and gender, as apart from voice tone, they have little sexual dimorphism. Kavra are a nation that while shares the language and to some extent, culture, politcally is more of a confederation of city-states. They have their own writing and counting system, and are known from being adept traders and sailors. Outside of Liwarn usually it isn’t difficult to spot kavra - they often wear very colorful clothes, as they produce the best and finest cloth dyes in their world.
