Have we considered that Dracula can't find his keys??

Like Jonathan says that all the doors are locked and this is an old castle. So they're the locks where you need the key to open from either side of the door. Or they're chained shut which has the same issue

Thus I posit Dracula lost his keys and said fuck it I've got things to do we're lizarding our way out of here

My head canon for why Dracula climbs down the castle instead of going through the front door is that he lost his keys so now he can’t lock the door from the outside. And the door has to be locked otherwise the wolves will come in and get fur everywhere.
