DM me your email, and I’ll scan and send it over!
Thank you! You’re the best :)

David Kastan’s “Proud Majesty Made a Subject” is one of my favorites, and should be on JSTOR. There’s also an awesome one called “Erasing Women: King Lear” by Pilar Hidalgo (I think?) which might be available through MLA. If not, I have a hard copy that I’m happy to scan and send your way.
I actually have the Kastan one saved from when I did my MA but I still haven’t read it! I’ll definitely read it now though.
I can’t find the Lear article though so if you’re happy to scan and send it I’d be super grateful ♡

Have you tried EEBO? Sometimes they'll have scans and a transcription.
since eebo moved over to proquest i have no idea how to use it. they actually made it worse and i’m not sure how they managed to do that.
if i can remember how to get back on to the old site (i’m pretty sure i’ll have a link somewhere) i’ll check to see if there’s a transcription.

If you find yourself looking for sources, let me know - I’ve just finished writing my MA thesis on RII, so I may have some things I can point you towards!
That would be amazing! I’ve got some articles about history plays more generally, and a few about the Henriad, but I’m struggling to find ones specifically for Richard II.

Richard II!

Richard II, for sure!
Richard II seems to be a popular choice and I’ve never actually worked on it before so that might be fun!

I love Confederates in the Attic! I hope you’re enjoying it!
I am! the Civil War has never been my favorite topic, but even with that I don’t mind reading it twice, which says something about the quality of the book!
Pu-erh, hop tea, and matcha - what made you want to study the early modern period?
Pu-erh - What is a book you can recommend to others?
I recently read Fingersmith by Sarah Waters and loved it so I’d definitely recommend that one!
Hop tea - Do you have a favourite tea? Which one?
My everyday favourite is Earl Grey but I have a blend with youthberry and orange blossom that I just love.
Matcha - what made you want to study the early modern period?
I knew that I wanted to study the early modern period, specifically literature, when I was about 16. I was introduced to the poetry of Sir Thomas Wyatt, John Donne, and Sir Philip Sidney and I just fell in love. I’d read some of Shakespeare’s plays before that since they’re part of high school curriculum but the poetry of the era really captured my attention.
Thank you for asking me some questions 💕
