I’m not trans. I mean, I am coming to terms with myself being she/ they genderfluid, but I know that everybody’s experience if different. I just know that being trans both is and isn’t a choice. A person doesn’t choose to be born in the wrong body, but they do choose to transition.

I didn’t know who Bridget was before you pointed out and it made me realize three other character who are in the same boat.

Peter Baker from sleep away camp, who was forced to live as Angela by his insane aunt because she wanted a daughter, and, as you do, he goes insane and starts killing people.

Eli from Let The Right One In is a boy named Elias who was castrated when he was turned into a vampire over 200 years ago. He dresses in female clothing and is perceived by outsiders as a young girl. He literally had his weewee chopped off and dresses like a girl because its easier to lure prey, which can be considered as transphobic in itself, but hey, kid is just hungry.

Lastly, we have Tippetarius from the OZ book series, who was born Princess Ozma, but was turned into a boy by an evil witch and raised as Tip. When reveled to be the Princess Ozma, Tip literally BEGGS to stay a boy, but the stupid adults decide for him.

Thus I have dubbed this trope the OZMA problem.

If anything, these characters have more in common with trans men who are forced to present themselves as female by society.

You took the words out of my mouth. And every single time, without fail, you get someone arguing that oh, we can’t have characters like this, it’s good to retcon characters like this into having been trans all along because otherwise it makes transitioning out to be a bad thing, and I will never, even if I live to be 200, understand that line of thinking.

Being forced to present as a gender that you don’t feel is the one you should have is a bad thing.

Chai, I hate to tell you but g*psy IS a derogatory term. For Roma and Romani people. I wanted to make Romani characters for Unfamiliar so I went down a rabbit hole and watched every documentary bout these people on YT, apparently most Romani folk don’t like the G word. Some American Romani use it, but in a ‘ our word’ kind of way.

Despite me still loving the show, there are big things I helluva that have always bothered me.

Viv, despite being outspokenly ACAB, encourages POC people to work at her company, and negatively depicts cops in her show, literally ended episode 4 with a group of people made up of mostly POC and LGBT characters having to suck off the police . IDK in Brandon wrote that or not but the fact Viv, a Trump hating Latino, didn’t step in and say no astounds me. To make things worse the succubi weren’t even doing anything wron, they were just doing their jobs and although I love Blitzo Verosika has every right to spite him. I love edgy hummer but this was too far.

What can you expect from the same episode that had Moxxie get assaulted for laughs?

Cartoons give me life and honestly the lates new about HBO Max and Discovery plus’s merging and cancelling most of its WIP shows, as well as Sony, Disney, Nick, CN and most other big name companies treating their shows like shit makes me very depressed.

I hear you. Everything feels like it's getting worse all the time, but you've just got to hold onto the fact that there's always something new to love.

TBH, I hate it when people nitpick Helluva Boss. Like REALLY nitpick, like people complaining about how Paimon’s desing or there being a beat after a joke. I mean, Criticism it’s self is fine, but there are better things to criticise the show about. But it just bothers me SO MUCH that Stolas and Blitzo are the same age. I know, people can play around with mythology if they want, I myself love doing it, but now he’s only 36 so wiccans and pagans have been worshiping a being that didn’t even exist up until recently. As soon as Paimon told baby Stolas he was taking him to the circus I was like “ Oh no. Nononononono. Please no!” 

I can get both arguments because sometimes you just want to nitpick, sometimes it’s the little things that piss you off. At the same time, I’ve seen people get really insistent about things like the designs being bad or include them alongside lists of things like the Blair White incident and then it turns into crying wolf. Before you know it, along come serious abuse allegations that people shrugged off as more of the same.

I’m not a fan of the age thing here. Not that I’m immune to cute little owlet Stolas in his cute little knickers, but it feels like it was done specifically to give him and Blitzo a very fanficcy meeting as kids and to give him daddy issues.

Which is silly, because the Goetia demons are fallen angels and therefore by definition swimming in daddy issues.

My thoughts on the episode

My thoughts on the episode

- My feelings towards Vivzie and her actions doesn’t effect my outlook on the show. It just means I skipped the adds.

- The whole ‘Stella bad’ thing could have worked if they established she was a bitch beforehand rather than just showing her upset she was cheated on.

- Blitzo and Stolas being the same age is weird man. I always thought of him as an ancient being but he’s like thirty something. Next they’ll team me Ozzie and Fizz are the same age.

- Stolas had the potential to be such a good character. Just show Stella being cruel ( not just because she was cheated on) earlier, that maybe not have him force Blitzo into having sex, and you’d have an amazing character .

- If someone has pity sex with you it doesn’t give you the right to keep forcing them to have sex with you again and again. Neither does being depressed or being a victim yourself. If anything it makes Stolas worse, since he knows what it’s like to be trapped in a miserable relationship but still uses Blitzo, his first ever friend, as a toy.

- A person can be a victim in one relationship and an abuser in another

- I will give them brownie points for establishing that Blitzo was taught from a young age to steal from the rich to survive, it makes his actions much more understandable, too bad everyone completely glosses over that fact and go right to hating on Blitzo. Poor guy just wants to provide for himself and his employees.

- “Stolas stayed in the marriage for Octavia” bitch, the worst thing you can do is stay for the kids. I’ll always be grateful that my parents divorced when I was young.

- Despite it’s flaws, I can’t say this show isn’t funny. I was chuckling to myself the entire time.

- Music and animation was amazing.

Yeah, I chuckled pretty hard at Paimon wanting a seat where he doesn’t have to “smell the poor.”

Ditto on pretty much all of this. “A person can be a victim in one relationship and an abuser in another” should be required reading for this fandom before anyone posts anything, because it applies to at least half the characters and everybody seems to forget it.

Sorry for all the asks but this is my safe space. Last night I had a dream that Hazbin came out and it opened with a lot of a24 style cinematic shots. Image if this show came out, A24 polished its story and writing, made it look good, it’s a big hit, and we can watch these characters go on without their shitty mother.

They can party it up with the characters from Harry Potter and Ren and Stimpy.
