Like I said back in my yokai post, I pointed that Ferryman has a lot of similarities with ame onna, who’s a yokai that brings rain wherever they go. So now I have the headcanon that whenever Ferryman goes in the Maw, it starts to rain in the room he's in.

When he's on the Maw, he stays a lot in the Depths.

Final part where I'll be talking about the Nomes, the Guests and the Shadow Kids !

Nomes : usutsuki warashi (mortar-pounding child)

Ghosts of children who were killed and buried under their house because their families couldn’t feed everyone, the usutsuki warashi is a harmless but unpleasant yokai ; they get in the house at night and make creepy noises (creaking and thumping). You shouldn’t make a usutsuki warashi leave, or the house will immediately falls into ruins. Similarly, the Nomes are children who got turned into these small creatures because of the Lady : and so they are everywhere in her "house", the Maw. They make noises and don’t cause any harm, like the yokai. Also, a lot of Nomes are in the Nest, where children are killed and turned into dolls.

And finally, a Nome in particular is seen in the Hunter's house (who killed a lot of people), and not far from his home there is someone who was buried.

The Guests : Gaki (hungry ghosts)

Gaki are vaguely human-shaped yokai living through eternal torment, always being hungry, and some of them can’t eat anything that isn’t corpses. But no matter how much they eat, it’s impossible to calm their hunger. Likewise, the Guests are always hungry and what they eat are corpses of children and other Guests. And they can’t be ever satisfied because of the hypnotic spell cast on the Maw. And like with the Viewers and noppera-bo, both the gaki and the Guests are represented in groups.

The Shadow Kids : nobiagari (shadow specter)

Nobiagari is a human-shaped shadow who stalks human from behind, and when the human turns around and looks up they'll grow up in size ; but if the human looks down the nobiagari will shrink and eventually disappear. Though they generally are harmless, some will attack people's neck. Likewise, the Shadow Kids stalks the Runaway Kid in the residence, and though their height isn’t changing when RK looks at them, the flashlight makes them disappear. Plus the nobiagari frequently appears near water like rivers, and the Shadow Kids appears at the Maw.

And another interesting thing is that sometimes the nobiagari is described as a big distorted human shadow, which isn’t the case for the Shadow Kids in the game, but it is for their concept art !

And I'm finally done ! I did find other things but didn’t put them here because they have too little similarities, like the Doctor who is kinda like the tenjo kudari (ceiling hanger) but only because they both are old people who can crawl on the ceiling (and very little is known about the tenjo kudari except for that one feature).
