MCs where I can restart the book and make a new MC with all different choices for them and it actually feels like I'm playing a brand new character with a different experience from my first MC rather than just the same character with a different appearance. I’m a hoe for Gabe all the way, but I honestly really like Joaquin’s character.

He’s cunning and has a quick wit to match MC but I still think there’s a genuine and caring side to him. I hope the circumstances change so him and MC can become close friends because that is such an iconic duo

Shoutout to MCs where you can decide who they are!

TRR MC, OG HSS MC, BOLAS MC, maybe AME MC and ES MC and LOA too. ILW MC too, even though they're from a fangame. And also MCs like ACOR and ILITW that are kinda more hybrid.

Probably unpopular opinion, but I tend to be a little more put off by MCs that are very pre-set characters. Of course, sometimes this can work in the story's favor and you get a MC that has a very enjoyable personality to play as and/or is also appropriate to the story such as COP MC, MOTY MC, and MAH MC. Or maybe one that is more of a hybrid like ACOR MC, where her backstory is already written out for you but you get to choose her methods, motives, and goals. But other times you get stuck with a really frustrating personality like the incredibly wishy-washy MTFL MC, or a really bland and passive personality that's ultimately just a failed lazy attempt to make a self-insertable character like TNA MC, where they basically spoonfeed all their character and feelings to you and they'll say or do shit that doesn't sit right with you.

I love MCs where you have choices in who they are because instead of being forced to be this one character where the only things you can choose are the name, appearance, sometimes gender, and sometimes love interest and you either love or hate their character, you kind of get options throughout the story to build their character into one that you like the most. Maybe you self-insert and make them more like you, or maybe you make them their own character. Is your TRR MC very serious and focused on helping Cordonia, or is she a totally messy person with a fetish for big hats? What activities will your HSS MC do, will they be good at said activity or complete utter shite at it, will they be more flirty or more chill or more pompous, will they be kind to the Hearst kids or not, will they be more forgiving towards others or not?

And sometimes it is nice when there's a little bit of ambiguity to their backstory, leaving it up to interpretation. What was TRR MC's life like before they met Liam and co? What were TRR MC's parents like and what happened to them? Did HSS MC's mom get divorced, is she deceased, is she missing, or something else? What was HSS MC's life like before they moved to Berry? How did LOA MC first gain interest in law and how did they come up to be the lawyer they are today? It's up to you, and I don't see why it shouldn't be.
