eoin's aware of paddy's feeling, but is very chill about it, firm believer that paddy will come to realize and accept his feelings in his own time and is fine with being just platonically inseparable from paddy for now.

but augustin "oh well, i cannot just Not poke that toxic situation" jordan gets fed up, so to jump-start the solving of it all, he very publicly (in front of paddy and friends) asks eoin out on a date. and eoin mcgonigal, who never saw a situation he didn't think he could make funnier (worse), very publicly says yes.
