A Genesee County Sheriff’s Department sergeant could face super-drunk driving and weapons charges after crashing her unmarked county car early Jan. 8, in Flint.

– The employee hit a median in the area of I-475 and Massachusetts Avenue in Flint, hitting her head on the vehicle’s front windshield before calling her supervisor just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 8.

The sheriff said the sergeant was treated at Hurley Medical Center following the crash and said she had a department-issued handgun and a personal handgun in the car at the time of the accident.

Swanson said he informed the sergeant of her discipline in a meeting Tuesday morning and said that discipline could change, depending on the results of the criminal case against her.
