millenial women stop thirst posting on main im begging
Just spent the last ten minutes locking and relocking my front door bc my brain is convinced it's not good enough. I barely made it thru making sure the cats are all inside off the front porch
I wonder if there’s some big, profound reasoning behind why I feel the need to push away anyone who loves me. There has to be a reason.
▬ private encounters
[ it was her mother that answered first, offering the girl a bright smile before sticking her fork into the salad that sat in front of her on the table. ] "I think it sounds like fun, sweetie. But the Grand Canyon is pretty far away..."
[ the girl's bright eyes dropped to her own salad, and she couldn't help but stab at the lettuce leaves on her plate, not excited about the answer she seemed to be receiving. ] "... So I can't go."
"We didn't say that." [ zander made a face as he watched his daughter violently forking at her food. he hated when she pouted like that. ] "We're just a bit worried. Going away for the weekend when you were only an hour away made us nervous enough. What if something happened while you were there and we couldn't get to you fast enough?"
[ with a small roll of her eyes -- which she had to admit was uncharacteristic of her -- sam glanced up at the man. ] "What's the worst thing that can happen? It's not like I'm going to fall into the canyon or something."
[ lula's eyes widened slightly at her daughter's words, looking over to her husband with a worried expression. ] "That can't happen, right? People don't fall into the Grand Canyon often, do they?"
[ zander couldn't help but smirk at his wife's worry, finding it rather adorable that she was actually picturing their daughter tumbling down the dirt cliff. ] "That doesn't happen, Lula, I promise."
"Exactly! So there's nothing to worry about! And it's not like I'm going alone." [ with a casual shrug of her shoulder, sam stuck her fork in her mouth, chewing with a proud smile at her argument. they couldn't deny that she would be much safer going with maverick than if she were to go alone. ]
[ the two adults shared a glance before lula carefully set her fork down on the table. ] "About that, honey..." [ she eyed her husband, not wanting to continue her sentence. she waited patiently for him to take control of the conversation. ]
[ with a sigh, zander straightened his posture. ] "Your mother and I have been talking, and you know that we love you and Maverick, but..." [ he shifted uncomfortably in his seat, remembering a fairly recent memory of marty happily explaining to him that they would be in-laws in the future. ] "You two aren't... uh..." [ he looked to his wife for help, making one of his famous 'i'm-uncomfortable-so-please-help-me' faces. ]
[ lula recognized the expression immediately, taking back the reigns on the conversation. ] "You two aren't together, are you? You would tell us if you were, right?"
"What do you..?" [ it took a moment, but eventually sam's confused expression was replaced with an extremely embarrassed one. ] "No! I mean, no, we're not... I would tell you if we were, trust me. I've never even--... No. Just no. We aren't together." [ she paused, avoiding eye contact as a blush spread across her freckled cheeks. ] "Is that why you don't want me to go? You think Rocko and I are... together?"
"We thought it might be a possibility, that's all..." [ zander gave the girl a small smile, trying to clear the air a bit. ] "And what kind of parents would we be if we let our teenage daughter go out of state with the boy she might be involved with?"
"Well I'm not... involved with Rocko. He just wants to get away for a little while. Everything with Aunt Marty is stressful right now, and he needs a friend. And I'm his best friend, and he's mine, so it only makes sense that he would ask me to go away with him for a few days."
[ samantha's parents exchanged nervous glances for a moment before zander cleared his throat, speaking up once more. ] "Okay. You can go." [ his heart melted slightly at the excitement that found its way onto his daughter's face, and before she could leap out of her seat, he raised his voice slightly. ] "But, you have to promise that you'll keep your phone on you at all times, fully charged. And you'll call if you have a problem. And you won't do anything that could end up with you getting hurt or in trouble."
[ sam was too busy kissing her parents' cheeks to really pay attention to her father's words, but she understood the gist of it. excitedly grabbing her plate, she went to clear her spot before running upstairs to text rocko that she could go. shouting over her shoulder as she hurried out of the room, she couldn't contain her excitement. ] "Thank you so much! I love you guys! I promise I won't do anything stupid!"
[ lula let out a laugh, reaching across the table to grab her husbands hand. ] "Look at how happy we just made our daughter. We're parents of the year!"
[ zander smirked at his wife's words, leaning over to place a kiss on her cheek. ] "We are parents of the year every year."
