Lockology Hair This! Sensitive Scalp - Ugh!
Lockology Hair This! Sensitive Scalp - Ugh! "Around 60% of women and 40% of men have a sensitive scalp. Its symptoms include burning, tingling, pain, itching and redness. If your symptoms are severe, you may be diagnosed with a hyper-reactive or hypersensitive scalp. SHAMPOO is one of the main causes of scalp sensitivity for many people. The harsh cleansers or surfactants in many shampoos can wash away the scalp’s acid mantle – the natural acidity that protects your skin – leaving it susceptible to dryness and irritation. Some people report having a hypersensitive or sensitive scalp after receiving treatment for skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. When your skin’s natural protective barrier is disrupted by one or more of these factors, microinflammations of the scalp can also become a leading cause of increased sensitivity. They occur when the skin cells in your scalp become inflamed, making it more vulnerable to irritation. Other causes of scalp sensitivity or hypersensitivity include: Climatic conditions – e.g. sun, cold, heat, wind Physical or emotional stress Chemicals in soap, cosmetics, water, some drugs and pollution Hormonal changes – e.g. pregnancy, menopause, menstrual cycle Food allergies or sensitivities Vinegars, natural oils and drinking eight glasses of water a day are among the natural remedies that have been claimed to treat a sensitive scalp. But although drinking enough water is good for your overall health, it won’t treat scalp sensitivity on its own – and there’s not much evidence to support the effectiveness of the other remedies listed above. Just be careful of the ingredients in the products you use. Reading is key to making better choices when it comes to your hair, skin and diet. Info Source - Eucerin.com
Lockology Quick Tip: Brighten Your Blond Locs Naturally
A chamomile tea rinse can brighten your blond locs and delay fading. Simply boil the flower or tea bag for a few minutes then cool and strain if necessary. Once cooled, spray the tea on dry hair. Rinsing with cool water approximately 10-15 minutes later is optional.

Lockology Hair This! How Do You Dry Your Locs?
Lockology Hair This! How Do You Dry Your Locs? Dryer vs Towel vs Paper Towel( and which to use for less fuzzy locs.) My preferred method is the paper towel. Surprised? Well all three above work just fine but i prefer the paper towel for three reasons. 1. No Heat Damage - Unlike the dryer you are not exposed to heat damage especially if you do it too often. Natural hair is already dry so you don't want to add to the problem in any way. 2. No Lint - Unlike towels (some of them) you don't pick up lint that can get trapped in your locs over time. 3. Less Fuzz - The trick to this is you use the paper towel and squeeze dry instead of rubbing with the towel. Wrap the paper towel around your locs and squeeze the water out. The paper towel creates less friction and static electricity resulting in less fuzz. Over all the paper towel will cost you a bit more than using a towel which as you know works fine but if you are battling with lint and fuzz i say go with the paper towel.
