Da der Nordosten Thailands ja bekanntlich nur selten von Touristen besucht wird, ist die Infrastruktur dementsprechend schlecht. Und trotzdem sind wir, mit einigen Umständen, von A nach B gekommen. Für eine Strecke von 180 km haben wir mit Umsteigen auf einen Pick Up Truck etwas mehr als 7h gebraucht. Es war eine interessante Erfahrungen, in einem Bus mit löchrigem Holzboden und offenen Türen, zu Reisen. Die Stadt Loei, unser Ziel, war eher enttäuschend, die Umgebung jedoch fabelhaft. Leider hatten wir nicht genügend Zeit, damit wir mehr von der Provinz hätten erkunden können. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir aber 1400 Treppen bestiegen, um auf einen wundervollen Aussichtspunkt zu gelangen! Seht selbst :)

At Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Khwai Ngoen, Chiang Kan district, Loei province, the main attraction is the majestically, tall  white and golden designed temple built on the middle of a mountaintop. The ornate and intricate design makes this temple stand out from others. Also, at this temple, an imprint of the Lord Buddha’s footprint is kept and maintained. 

In addition, the temple grounds were formerly once a volcano and  visitors may visit and observe the crater mouth of this extinct volcano.
