I MADE IT ALIVE!!!
Ahem. Good morning. I'm in the space station now, but I haven't left my ship yet. Thank god for there being an auto-docking feature, because my landing skills are definitely lacking. Uh... This place looks really cool. There's a giant blue orb behind me that's connected to a lot of things and it kinda felt like it was looking at me while my ship got settled? I don't know. I don't dislike it, though, I think it's cool.
I found a button that lets me talk without people hearing me outside my suit, so... I'll either update when something interesting happens, or when this is over. Let's hope I find some answers, or at least something interesting.

A Second Run-In With Corwin And Cat
Catriona and Corwin are on a bedroll on the prow of the ship this night, passing a bottle of booze back and forth, idly talking. Cat's fingertip rests on Corwin's stomach at the moment, but both are fully clothed and no sign of a struggle. "Chaos welcomes everything but Order," she amends to something he has said. "But how do you propose to remake Amber with Chaos, anyway? The same way you made Banyan?"
"Order is merely the absence of Chaos and everything else," offers Corwin in reply to Catriona, a smirk hinting back to his lips, "Chaos can exist with Order, but not the other way around." There's just the hint of a pause, a half shrug and then he's offering, "By use of the Pattern. Introduce Chaos into it and then rip it apart, to start from scratch."
Alec pauses on his walk along the docks as he heard Catriona's voice, and he looks up at the Wandering Dutchess. "Cat?" he calls.
Cat's response to Corwin is truncated when someone calls out her name. Instead of dissecting the variants of Chaos and Order more, the woman tips her head up and lifts a brow to Corwin. She shifts a little, putting space between herself and the Prince before calling out, "I'm up here, as usual. Who wants to know?"
The sound of a voice echoing from the docks, up to the ship, has Corwin shifting onto his back, gaze playing over to the ramp. Then, he's moving to draw himself up to a seated position, hand moving to claim the bottle so that it can be lifted to his lips for a rather deep sip, only to then be lowered back down. "If you're a traveling salesmen, be warned that I have a sword and I'm looking for blood," comes to be called out.
"It's Alec," Alec calls, "and I'm not selling anything, but if that's Corwin I hear, I get the feeling you'd still find a reason to put a sword in me. Mind if I join you, or am I interrupting something?"
"Nothing." Cat answers, maybe a touch more emphatically than strictly necessary. She reaches out to swipe the bottle of booze back from Corwin, ready to fight for it if necessary. "He won't hurt you. Come on up, Alec. I'll protect you. Hell, you might even score with an Uncle!" Laughter dances in her tone.
"She's right. Aside from an opinionated conversation, you're not interrupting anything at all," comments Corwin, allowing the booze to be swiped from his hands. A grunt then follows Cat's words, joined by a smirk, "Riiiight. Because I need anyone's permission to hurt someone. And it'd take more then you to stop me from stabbing someone, Cat, if I really wanted to." There's a grin, then, "And you'd have a better chance scoring with Oberon, then with me."
Alec comes aboard, an unamused look on his face. "That was just a theory of yours, Cat," he says. "I highly doubt I have any uncles here. And I wouldn't want to 'score' with any of them if there were." He approaches, and nods in greeting at the pair before sitting near them, keeping himself much closer to Cat. "I'll also pass on being hooked up with a Prince. Or stabbed by one."
Cat levels a look on Corwin. "Oh? That sounds to me something akin to a challenge. If I hadn't seen you level Gerard over a bar the other night, I might almost be tempted to throw down right now just to see if you're all talk, Corwin." Her gaze strays from the Prince to Alec, grinning. "Just don't provoke him? He /might/ be able to beat me. But I'm still not so sure. Any news on the amnesiac front?"
"Like I said, I've far better with a sword then with my fists," is what Corwin offers, only to then flit his gaze over towards Alec, to give a nod as the other man comes to settle down beside Cat. There's a dance of a grin to his lips and it's followed by, "While you pick who you hook up with, you can't always pick who you get stabbed by." That grin deepens upon his lips before he begins to press himself up from the deck, rising to his feet.
Alec shakes his head at Cat. "Not really much progress these days," he admits. "It came faster for a bit, but now I'm only gaining whispy little half memories." He watches as Corwin stands, his gaze wary. "I'd heard you'd gotten in a brawl with Gerard recently," he says. "What was all that about?"
"It wasn't my fault," Catriona tells Alec helpfully, with a bright, mad smile. "Corwin has cleared me of fault." She watches the Prince rise, and shifts her position perhaps a touch closer to Alec, maybe slightly protectively. "And you can't always pick who you hook up with," she points out to the Prince.
"Family squabble. Brought on by a fight that Cat had picked with some Kites," offers Corwin to Alec and when he notes Cat moving in closer towards him, there's a smirk that dances to his lips, "Moving closer isn't exactly protecting him, my dear. My sword would just as easily go through you and into him if I really wanted it. But, alas, he's not on my list of people to stab today." Lowering his hand, he lets his fingers wrap around the hilt of his sword and a moment later the air begins to chill a touch, even as a translucent sphere begins to form around the Prince, "For now, though, I shall leave you two kids to your fun."
Alec looks from Cat to Corwin. "I see," he says, still looking like he has more questions about the fight but seeming to decide to hold them for now. He continues to watch Corwin with a wary gaze but makes no move to leave where he's seated.
Cat's eyes swing to Corwin's, probably stupidly bold. "One day, Corwin. Soon. Swift travels." And she watches the Prince fade away before returning her gaze to Alec. "So. What have you found out? Or is this more to tempt and tease me back into trying to figure you out on my own?"
"Perhaps. Perhaps not. Only time will tell, Cat." That's offered as his gaze then flits to Alec, a smirk hinting back to Corwin's lips, "And until next time, Alec." And after a second longer, the sphere engulfs the Prince in darkness, only to then disappear, taking him with it.
RPG: Corwin accesses a place via Knight Companion (CHS-KC).
Corwin has left.
Alec watches as Corwin leaves. "I just hope I don't meet that guy one-on-one," he mutters. He then turns toward Cat. "You were the one who asked me about my memories in the first place." He says. "I'm no tease if I wasn't the one to bring them up." He pauses and then sighs. "Something I remembered wasn't quite as pleasant as everything else has been. I get the feeling that I might be keeping myself from remembering anything else because there's a memory in there I'm sure I have but don't want to recall."
"Would you like me to torture it out of you?" Helpful Catriona is helpful. "Because I'm always willing to help. For your proclivities, I'll even keep it nonsexual." Completely ignoring his earlier claims. "If you want." She picks up the bottle of rum, stretching it out in Alec's direction, like that might persuade him.
"I...what?" Alec seems more bewildered than anything. "Torture it out of me? Your tone doesn't seem like you're joking... Either way, I'm not into that. I don't think." He pauses and seems deep in thought as if he's trying to remember if he would actually be into that or not.
"But how will you know unless you try it?" Catriona points out, oddly the pragmatic one in the bunch. Sort of. "Drink some, and then see if it sounds like something fun. It sounds fun to me!" A smile curves her lips. "Corwin's gone. He can't hurt you. And I have no interest in killing you, if that helps."
Alec hesitates, but takes the bottle and drinks from it. "Good. I have no interest in being killed," he says. "But I also don't have any known interest in being tortured," he adds. "Either way, I don't think I want to allow myself to be left helpless in your care. If it's hints you want, though, I can tell you I have memories of my mom but nothing of a father figure. I do have a brother, though." He offers the bottle back.
Cat takes the bottle back, her lips claiming the mouth of the bottle and tilting it back. She drains no small amount of rum, before offering the bottle back amiably. "Who's your brother?" That's the question that comes after she swallows, not pressing the torture. "Anyone from Amber?"
Alec shrugs and takes the bottle back again. "I lost track of him when I was young," he says, and he takes a quick drink. "And I doubt he'd from from, though. At least, I haven't seen anyone around here that reminds me of him." He offers the bottle again.
Cat stares at Alec in disbelief. A single silvery brow cocks high on her forehead. "That's it?" She staaaaares. "That's all you've got for me? No description, no locale. Just a vague recollection that you have a brother?" She makes a disgusted noise. "Pah! Amnesiacs! I'm starting to see things from Corwin's perspective."
Alec takes back his offering of the bottle and gives her a glare. "Remembering him was part of the painful recent string of memories I recovered," he says. "I haven't exactly had the chance or motivation to investigate things further, alright?" He takes another drink but then pauses and lowers the bottle. "And I'm hoping that your sudden change to seeing his perspective doesn't involve bloodshed..."
"Tempting. Oh, so tempting," The blonde opines with a husky chuckle, that suggests she might at least be picturing it in detail. "But, no. The last thing I need to do in this city is piss off Caine. He already thinks I'm a fool."
Alec looks confused. "What's that asshole have to do with anything?" He asks. "Although, if it's saving me from you stabbing me, maybe I should be grateful to him. Maybe." He offers the bottle back.
"That asshole?" Catriona echoes faintly, the second brow lifting to join the first. "I take it you've met Caine since we last spoke?" She takes the bottle back, punctuating the question with a long swallow of the rum.
Alec shakes his head. "I've just heard more stories about the guy," he says. "Each one is worse than the last. I'd hate to actually meet him. Might accidentally pick up one of Corwin's habits."
"Don't." It's a serious statement delivered bluntly. "He's an asshole. He's a complete and utter bastard." Cat sucks in a breath, accompanied by more rum. "But if you harm him, I'll kill you or die trying." She drops her gaze, staring at the deck like there's something there other than wood. The crazy starts to creep in.
Alec stares at her. "Don't tell me he's the lover you were crying over that night I ran into you in the Crown," he says slowly.
"Of course not. That would be crazy. Right? You'd have to be fucking crazy to love someone like that." Cat doesn't point out the obvious, that she's more than a little insane. But she's not sharing the rum anymore.
Alec stands and stretches. "I see," he says. "Well, I guess I should head back before I say anything else that might lose me anymore favoritism points with you," he says. "I do enjoy the treatment."
Cat remains sitting on the bedroll with the rum, swatting at imaginary voices in the air. "Yes. I /know/. You think I don't? Of course I do. No, I'm not going to open him up. Because I don't want to. He's a pretty colour. Leave him that colour." There's a blink, and Cat focuses on Alec. "Good evening, Alec. Smart. I'd vacate quickly. Harder to hold on. You understand."
Alec nods. "Guess I'll take my leave, then," he says. "Good evening." And he departs.
