Anyways, hope you all enjoy!!!
Day One-Mistletoe-Logicality
Logan stumbled down into the commons area, following his need for coffee. It had been a long night of studying for him and he had barely gotten any sleep before he had to be awake for a tutorial session with a classmate.
The second he walked into the room he saw them. Decoration boxes were on almost every flat surface their kitchen had, their contents half-pulled out. On the floor by the biggest box was his roommate Patton, sound asleep with his arms and face inside the box. Despite his early morning bitterness Logan gave a small smile looking at the worn out boy on the floor. Halloween had come and gone too fast this year and in between midterms and work, Patton had missed the opportunity to decorate their apartment for the spooky and fun holiday. He was even more miffed at hearing his roommate’s rule for Christmas: No decorations before December 1st.
He had pouted, whined and begged to decorate early and was denied time and time again. Logan had seen no point for the decorations, Virgil thought they were absurd anytime before December, and Roman didn’t want to tire himself of the Christmas season before it had begun. So Patton had waited not very patiently till December.
He probably fell asleep trying to decide what to decorate first. Logan thought to himself, stooping down to gently shake Patton awake. “Patton? Patton you should wake up, the position you are sleeping in isn’t healthy for your back.” Logan continued shaking Patton, even kneeling on the floor to pull his face from the box.
Slowly, Patton straightened his back, pulling his arms out from the decorations and stretched. “Oh, morning Lo.” he yawned gazing around the room in slight confusion. A mistletoe branch was taped to the side of his head and Logan stifled laughter.
“Goodmorning. You seemed to have fallen asleep while pulling out the decorations.” Logan gazed around again, admiring the half decorated kitchen. Patton had begun stinging garland along the doorways and had already swapped out all their towels for ones with Christmas print. “Why don’t you head back to sleep Patton? I’ll start moving the boxes to their designated rooms and cook breakfast today.” Correction: Logan would micromanage Roman as he moved the boxes and watch Virgil cook breakfast.
“Sounds great Lo. I think I will head upstairs.” With Logan’s help, Patton stood and stretched yet again.
“Uh just one second Patton.” Logan reached over to Patton, gently pulling the tape from his hair and freeing the mistletoe branch. He held it up to the light above them. “It doesn’t look damaged. You should still be able to hang this one up Patton.” He goes to move his arm down again and is startled when Patton reaches up to grab his wrist, suddenly wide awake.
“We’re standing under the mistletoe branch now Logan. The rules are, if you stand under the branch with someone you have to give them kiss.” He was blushing bright red and going by how he felt, Logan was too.
“Patton I uh…” he stopped, trying to find words. In that moment of consideration, Patton leaned forwards and brushed a kiss over Logan’s cheek. He pulled back smiling wide in satisfaction.
“I never said it had to be on the lips Lo!” he said chuckling at Logan’s bright red cheeks and flustered features.
Logan ended up kissing Paton hard on the mouth, if only to stop him from laughing.
Day Two-Hot Chocolate-Prinxiety
Virgil walked out of the coffee shop, messenger bag slung over his shoulders with papers haphazardly thrown into his bag. He was going to be late for class again. Why he decided to sign up for an 8am class was beyond him, and yet here he was. The class was in its final two weeks of the semester and Virgil was absolutely determined to be on time to at least one class. A feat he was currently failing.
He continued walking through the campus, weaving through the few people that were as crazy as him to sign for early classes. He was almost into the Psychology building, sipping on his drink when he slammed into something rock hard.
His drink went everywhere, soaking his clothes and scalding him with hot coffee. He looks down at the ground, scrambling to save his bag from the coffee. It’s then Virgil sees a pair of dress shoes, now splattered with coffee. “Oh god I’m so sorry I didn’t mean for that to happen at all! I didn’t even realize you were there I can’t apologize enough.”
Virgil stands back up with his bag in tow and his eyes widen as he sees the man in front of him because holy fuck he’s gorgeous. He’s tall and judging by how hard Virgil was hit he’s fairly well muscled. He arches an eyebrow with a mix between a smile and grimace, shaking his arm in an effort to rid himself of the burning. “It’s quite alright. You seemed to have taken the brunt of the drink. Are you okay?”
“Uhm I’m fine thanks. Honestly I’m really sorry.” Virgil shoulders his bag, pulling his phone out and checking the time 7:55. “Shit! I’m gonna be late!” He brushes past the man, still confused and continues running towards the psychology building. He makes it into the seat at 7:59 and by the time the class is over, he’s too frazzled to think long on the pretty boy he spilled coffee on.
Two weeks later Virgil is walking into his best friend’s apartment, free from the stress of his finals and ready to enjoy the Christmas party Patton had planned. He goes throughout the surprisingly crowded living area, looking for his friend. Virgil finds him curled up in a overstuffed chair, his boyfriend sitting on the arm.
“Nice party Patt.” he says as he walks up, spiked eggnog in hand.
“Oh hey kiddo! I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself!” Patton is cheery and smiling as he talks with Virgil, one hand resting on Logan’s thigh.
“Yeah it’s a good way to the end the semester.” Virgil continues talking to the bubbly friend until he pulls Logan on his lap, obviously buzzed and flirty. He gives the pair one last smile before spinning around, heading towards the kitchen. He was turning around the corner to get into the kitchen when a force hit him hard from behind, nearly causing him to drop his drink. He spins around, glaring at the boy when he stops.
“Oh I’m so…” The boys apology sticks in his throat and his eyes widen in recognition. He leans against the wall separating the two rooms with a smirk. “You’re the white rabbit that spilled coffee on me a few weeks ago.”
Virgil sputters, raising an eyebrow. “What do you mean the white rabbit?”
Roman laughs. “Well it’s not often you encounter some shouting I’m gonna be late. You reminded me of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.”
Virgil nods, a small half-smile on his face. “Well you caught me. My name is Virgil.”
“Roman.” He stuck his hand out and Virgil clasped it in a handshake.
“Well Virgil, how’s about I get you a drink you won’t spill on me. Hot chocolate? Tomorrow at the cafe by the university? We can get a table so we’re not at risk of spilling on me.”
Virgil looks surprised. This guy wanted to hang out with him? His shock wears off and he leans too, hands in his coat pockets. “How about 10? I promise I won’t be late.”
Roman laughs the next day when Virgil runs into the cafe. The time reads 10:01.
