I think Twilight has been so obsessed with providing a universal peace for everyone that he has forgotten how to have a genuine relationship with people. He was only dating Karen to get close to her father without thinking about how he was leading her on and then for his current mission where he needs to act like a family man, he was talking about not getting too attach to Anya, without thinking how a young child like her can’t just turn off her feelings of attachment for him. I don’t know if he understands that the end do not justify the means and that he can’t just manipulate people’s emotions even if it’s for the sake of world peace (maybe I’m still under the influence of the morality within Rurouni Kenshin universe). I wonder if this is gonna be the main internal character conflict in the show; trying to keep being coldhearted so he can go through missions that it turns him into the monster that undermines the world peace he’s trying to preserve.
