“Loki! I’m home!” You dragged out the ‘i’ in his name, a give away of your excitement. You came in and closed the door to your shared apartment  in New York. Loki moved in with you a couple years after the whole New York thing. You're a shield agent and work  with the Avengers. You run into your bedroom and find him reading. He looks up at you and you practically jumping with joy and a huge smile plastered on your face, he sets his book down and raises his eyebrow. 

“I have a surprise for you!” You say all chirpy and sing songs like. He sighs and rolls his eyes and stands up. You grab his hands and pull him out of the bedroom and lead him to the door of your apartment. 

“Ok, ready?” 

“I suppose so”

“Good, wait here.”

You open the door to the apartment and quickly shut it behind you. You open it again fully and a black fluffy dog with a green collar jumps through you to Loki and on him. Loki just looks at you puzzled and you have the biggest smile on your face.

“His name is mischief” You say, still glowing. Loki just laughs and pets the dog who's still on him and smiles at you. You laugh too and sit on the floor and Loki comes over to sit with you, while mischief follows and jumps back on Loki’s lap and he smiles out of control. You push Loki back on the floor and kiss him. Mischief decides to join in and lick both of your faces while you and Loki laugh and smile at each other.

Loki stayed still against a bookshelf in the library. He caught the sound of your voice from the other side. You giggled along with your friend beside you.

“So, your turn!” your friend giggled. “I told you who I have crush on. Your turn!”

“Promise you won’t tell anyone?” you said and bit your lip. Unbeknownst to you, Loki had dropped his book and placed his ear as close to you as possible. He could study later. Right now, you were much more important.

Loki watched you in between the books, looking around for anyone. Loki made himself disappear so you couldn’t see him. But he could see you and how wonderful it was to just look at you. He felt his heart racing, anticipating. A hope ignited inside his core.

He found himself mouthing out ‘say my name. say my name. please say it.’ You turned back to your friend.

“Ok! Ok. Shhh,” you calmed your friend down. “I have a crush on Loki.”

“The Other Brother?!”

“Shhhh! I like him a lot. I think he’s handsome.” Your words left Loki speechless. Paralyzed to his spot, his stomach swung bringing him a certain joy he hadn’t felt in so long. He held his stomach and laughed to himself a bit more. His eyes returned to your retreating figure.

“I think you’re perfect, Y/N.”
