Reconcile (Loki/Thor/Reader)
Thor decides it's time to talk.
"So, mommy ate the baby?" Jade innocently asks after you and Loki tell her about her little sibling.
Loki chuckles. "No, my love," he smiles – brushing Jade's hair while you pack her lunch for school.
"But then why is it in mommy's tummy?!" she asks – desperately wanting to understand how this whole baby thing works.
You walk over to Jade and Loki and unzip her backpack – placing her lunch inside. "That's where the baby has to grow," you tell her with a smile. "That's all you need to know for now, alright?"
Jade looks at you with a suspicious look – one very similar to the one Loki gives you sometimes. "Okay, mommy...if you say so..."
Loki finishes brushing her hair and stands up from the couch. "I'll be back," he says, placing a kiss on your lips and rubbing your stomach.
He and Jade walk out of the house and to the car so he can take her to school. Taking and picking your daughter from school is one of his favorite things to do, and you're not complaining. Jade's school is a good half hour away from your little family's house, so you are happy to have an hour in the morning and afternoon to yourself.
"Congratulations," a voice startles you as you are relaxing on the couch.
Instantly, you jump up and prepare to murder whoever has broken into your home, but you quickly see who it is. "You..."
Thor smiles and walks towards you. "It's me," he confirms. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's fine," you chuckle, trying to catch your breath and slow your heart down. "Just – I wasn't expecting you."
Thor nods. "I know," he smiles. "Just wanted to pop by – see how everything's going with you know...my brother." Your mind flashes back to the incident in the library that happened a little more than eight years prior, and the guilt settles back into your chest. There's an awkward silence between the two of you, but Thor eventually puts an end to it. "I wanted to apologize," he states with a fond smile. "Not only to you...but also to Loki."
"Loki's taking Jade to school right now," you quietly tell him. "He should be back in twenty minutes or something."
Thor sighs. "Good, then you and I can have a conversation," he says. "I mean, if you want to, of course."
You nod and smile slightly. "I'd like that."
Thor follows you over to the kitchen table, and you drink your decaffeinated coffee while Thor drinks the regular one.
"So," Thor quietly speaks. "Jade...I like that name."
You smile at the thought of your little girl. "Loki named her," you tell him. "She's...she's the best little girl I could've ever asked for."
"Asked for?" Thor asks with a raised eyebrow.
You begin to blush but quickly find the courage to speak of how she came to be. "After Loki and I...you know...left Asgard...we realized that we had a lot of feelings for each other that had been growing for years," you confess and take a sip of coffee – Thor genuinely listening on. "One of the feelings we had was wanting a family – a child of our own – so...that's what we did."
"I would love to get to know her," Thor smiles. "She's my niece, after all."
You smile back at him. "Jade would love you."
"So, I hear there's another one on the way," Thor points out, nodding at your stomach.
"What is it to you?" Loki's voice responds as he walks into the kitchen to see his older brother sitting at the table with you. Needless to say – Loki's not happy. "Why're you here, Thor?"
Thor stands up and approaches his brother. "Loki," Thor sighs, almost sounding relieved. "I came to, well, I wanted the three of us to talk."
"About what?" Loki asks, crossing his arms and wishing his brother would go away.
Thor swallows and exhales a deep breath. "I was wrong," he admits to both your and Loki's surprise. "I wish to ask for your forgiveness," he turns to you, "both of your forgiveness for how I acted towards everything."
Loki scoffs. "Now? Now? Eight years later? Really?"
"Loki," you say, trying to keep the God of Mischief calm.
"Haven't you hurt her enough?" Loki asks, narrowing his vision to glare at his brother – ignoring your voice.
Thor holds his hands up as a sign of cooperation. "The last thing I want to do is cause Y/N more pain," he says – his voice sincere. "I just want the two of you to know that your family is always welcome into Asgard. It was wrong of me to throw you from your home for my faults." Thor pulls out a different chair and sits back down at the table – letting out a sigh before speaking. "You were right," he begins, turning to you. "I was putting Asgard first and you second – I didn't realize until far too late how badly I had treated your heart." Loki quietly sits in the chair next to the God of Thunder. "I'm still disgusted with myself over how I spoke to you – the names I called you...I honestly don't know why I was even surprised that you left."
"Thor," you start, fighting back the tears as Loki reaches over the table and holds your hand. "Yes, I was unhappy, but you have to believe me when I say that I didn't – I wasn't planning on breaking it off in the way I did. I never wanted to hurt you as badly as I did."
"I know," Thor smiles sweetly. "Loki saved you from someone who was doing anything but loving you."
Jade had undoubtedly softened Loki – becoming more of a loving teddy bear than he would ever admit. Loki sighs and shocks Thor by motioning for him to stand up and then throwing his arms around him – pulling him in for a hug. "Thank you, brother," he says – his eyes starting to tear up. Loki pulls away and blinks the tears from his eyes. "But I won't apologize for my actions."
"Loki!" you scold him – thinking he's acting rude.
Loki holds his index finger up to you – the sign of giving him a minute. "I don't mean that I enjoyed hurting you," he explains to his older brother, "because I didn't...but...if I were to apologize for the actions I took that day, then I'd be apologizing for my children existing – my little girl and this new one on the way – the love of my life carrying and birthing them. I'm not sorry for what happened, and I never will be, but I am sorry that it took this long to reconcile."
Thor grins at his brother and grabs him by the side of his neck. "I've never been prouder of you than I am right now, brother." Thor removes his hand and heads towards the front door. "I'm going to get out of your hair," he announces, "but please...I would love to get to know Jade and my unborn niece or nephew...when they're born, of course."
"Absolutely," you respond, smiling and nodding to the Asgardian as he walks through the front door.
