Summary: you get kidnapped by some goons and Loki comes to your rescue [WC 1k] [ao3]
Warnings: mafia au, angst, fluff if you tilt your head to the left and squint hard
Request: @samanddeansannoyingsis Mafia Loki who's sweet wife has no idea he's in the mafia. Shes just a sweet little librarian at the public library and then gets kidnapped one day and they ask about her husband.
The library always smelled like paper and quiet. It clung to you the way your husband’s sweaters did when you stole them from his side of the closet. It was safe here. Predictable. Rows of stories that always ended the same way no matter how many times you opened them.
That’s why you didn’t understand.
Didn’t understand why your wrists were tied to a chair. Didn’t understand why the room smelled like metal and something sharp and wrong. Didn’t understand why the men in front of you kept asking about Loki.
Your Loki. Your husband who kissed your forehead every morning, who brought you tea when your migraines got bad, who listened to you ramble about books like it was the most fascinating thing in the world.
“C’mon,” one of them sneered, crouching in front of you. “You really expect us to believe you don’t know what he does?”
Your throat felt tight, frantically looking around the room. You had no idea where he had taken you. Or who this man was. Or what he was talking about. “He—he works in business.”
The room went quiet for a second.
Then laughter. Harsh. Mocking. “Business,” another echoed. “Yeah. That’s one way to put it.”
You shook your head, panic starting to claw its way up your chest. “I don’t understand what you want from me. I told you—I don’t know anything.”
The first man sighed like you were inconveniencing him. “Your husband runs half this city. Weapons, money, people. Nothing moves without his say-so. And you're telling us you have no idea how diabolical he is?”
Your heart stuttered. “No,” you whispered, because that didn’t make sense. It couldn’t. “No, you’re wrong. Loki wouldn’t—he’s—he’s—”
Kind. Gentle. Careful with you like you were something fragile.
The man grabbed your chin suddenly, forcing you to look at him. “He’s a liar. And you’re either stupid… or you’re lying for him.”
Tears blurred your vision. “I’m not lying…” Your voice cracked, small and helpless in the cold room. “I swear, I don’t know anything.”
There was a beat.
Then a sound echoing in the ditance. A thud. Another. Raised voices outside. Shouting. Something breaking.
The men froze. You felt it before you understood it—the shift in the air. Like a storm rolling in. Heavy. Inevitable.
One of them cursed under his breath. “Shit—”
The door burst open. And everything stopped. Because Loki stood there. Not your Loki. Not the man who brushed your hair out of your face while you read in bed. This Loki was dressed in black, coat immaculate, eyes cold and sharp like cut glass. There was blood on his knuckles—fresh blood—and men behind him who looked just as dangerous.
For a moment, no one spoke. Then Loki’s gaze found you. And everything—everything—in his expression shattered. “Darling.” His voice dropped, softer than you’d ever heard it, like the word itself might break you further.
Your breath hitched. “Loki…?”
He crossed the room in seconds. The men didn’t even try to stop him. Didn’t dare. He dropped to his knees in front of you, hands suddenly so careful as they hovered over your face, your shoulders, like he was afraid to touch you too roughly. “Are you hurt?” he murmured, frantic now. “Did they—did they touch you—?”
“I…” Your voice trembled. “They said—”
You looked at him—really looked. At the blood. At the men behind him. At the way everyone else in the room refused to meet his eyes. “…they said you’re… in the mafia.”
Silence. It stretched. Heavy.
Loki closed his eyes briefly, like he’d been dreading this exact moment for a very long time. When he opened them again, the softness was still there—but underneath it was something darker. Something powerful. Something real. “Yes,” he said quietly.
The word felt like it split the world in two.
You flinched. Not away from him—never that—but from the truth itself. “…you lied to me.” It wasn’t angry. That made it worse.
Loki’s face crumpled just slightly, guilt flickering through all that control. “I protected you.”
“By lying?”
“By keeping you safe,” he corrected, sharper now—but the edge vanished the second your eyes filled again. “By making sure you never had to see this part of me.”
Your lips trembled. “But it’s still you.”
That hit him. You could see it. He swallowed, something raw breaking through his composure. “Yes.”
Your gaze dropped to his hands—the same hands that held yours so gently—now stained with blood. “…did you hurt them?” you whispered.
Behind him, one of the men shifted nervously.
Loki didn’t look away from you. “Yes.”
The honesty was terrifying.
And yet still, he reached for you slowly, like approaching a frightened animal. “But never you. Never anything that belongs to you. Never anything that breathes near you.” His voice dropped, something dark curling through it now. “They took you.” The room seemed to shrink around those words. “And for that,” Loki continued softly, “they don’t get to keep breathing.”
Your heart pounded. You should’ve been scared. You were scared. But not of him. Never of him. Your voice came out small. “…you still love me?”
Something almost offended flashed across his face. He leaned in, pressing his forehead to yours despite the blood, despite everything. “You are the only thing in this wretched world I have ever loved,” he whispered.
Your breath caught.
“And I would burn every empire I’ve built to ash before I let harm come to you again.”
Your eyes closed, tears slipping free. “…okay.”
It was quiet. Fragile. But it was enough. Loki exhaled like he’d been holding his breath since the moment you were taken. Carefully, gently, he untied your wrists—his fingers trembling just slightly as he checked for marks. “I’m taking you home,” he murmured.
Home.
The word felt different now.
He stood, then hesitated… before shrugging off his coat and draping it around your shoulders, shielding you from the room, from the men, from himself. From what he was.
But as he helped you up, your hand clutched his sleeve.
He paused. “…you’re still my Loki,” you said softly.
And for the first time since he walked in, the monster disappeared. Just for you.

It had been weeks since you saved Loki’s life and brought him back from his near-death experience. Or as Loki fondly likes to call it, “the time you asked him out on a date.” He was relentless with his flirtations towards you. He would seek you out at all hours, multiple times a day, just to wear you down.
One time he caught you by the kitchen pouring yourself a cup of coffee. “There you are, my angel.” He slid on the side of the counter, pulling up right next to you. “I have a headache. Do you think you could kiss it and make it all better?” he crooned so sweetly.
“No,” you answered him flatly and walked away, sipping your coffee.
Or, that time you were kickboxing with Sam. While Loki and Thor just happened to be training on the mat across from you. Thor had knocked him down with a single blow. Loki immediately cried to you from the floor. “Darling! My brother doesn’t seem to know the difference between practice and actual combat. Could you spare me a kiss so that I can continue and teach him a lesson?” He lay on the floor with his hair falling from the loose bun he kept it in. His arms spread apart, looking up at you through thick, long lashes.
“No, Loki!” You were so irritated that you took your fighting gloves off and threw them on the floor. Missing his head by an inch. Loki didn’t even flinch as he watched you storm off in anger. “Go to med-bay if you’re injured!”
“My angel,” Loki purred this morning after a team meeting. “I seem to have a paper cut on my finger. Can you-”
“No! Loki I will not kiss you!” you asserted, gathering your materials to get out of there quickly.
“I was going to suggest you lick it. But if that’s what you prefer, I’ll take it as a consolation prize,” he smiled and puckered his lips towards you. Your palms had never itched more, wanting to slap the kiss right off his mouth. You growled in frustration as you turned on your heel and walked out.
Loki heard light chuckles coming from the end of the large meeting table. Wilson and Barnes were shaking their heads, having watched the whole scene play out. “Is there something that you two find amusing?”
“Ya, man. You!” Wilson answered.
“I’m glad my shortcomings amuse you,” Loki answered with a slight upturn of his lip.
“Let me give you some advice,” Sam said walking over to him.
“Not warranted. Nor requested.”
“I’ma give it to you anyway.” Sam clapped a hand on Loki’s shoulder and looked him straight in the eye. “You need to chill.”
“I beg your pardon?” Loki said astounded.
“The more you push, the harder she resists,” Barnes interjected.
“Stop harassing her,” Sam continued.
“You, constantly being around her, reminding her of that kiss, is not gonna go well for you,” Barnes added.
“Are you saying that she regretted healing me?” Loki questioned.
“No,” they both answer in unison.
“Anyone can see that she was smitten with you from day one!” Sam declared.
“And she wouldn’t just kiss anybody. She offered to heal my arm once, though,” Barnes said to Wilson. “I wonder if she would’ve kissed me then?” He said introspectively, biting his lip in thought. Loki sneered at the notion.
“But she thinks that you’re just teasing her. That you’re not sincere with your feelings and you’re just looking for a way to provoke or annoy her.”
“I honestly don’t know how I can make it any clearer for her that I’m interested other than to ask her flat-out naked!”
“NO!” they both screamed again.
“Well, it would've worked on Asgard.” Loki pouted, crossing his arms as he sat on the ledge of the conference table.
“I’m sure it would’ve,” Sam nodded sarcastically. “Look, do you really like her?” Loki gave him a sardonic look, appalled that Wilson would even ask such a question.
“Then prove to her that you’re worthy of her affections. Wait for her to ask you. That way you’ll know she wants you too and not just because she’s trying to save your life.” At this last drop of wisdom, Barnes and Wilson left Loki in the conference room, pondering ways to prove his sincerity towards you.
You hurried towards your room, scenes from the last moments with Loki replaying in your mind. How could everything have gone tits up in just a couple of weeks?! You left the meeting today exhausted more than ever. You weren’t sure if it was misplaced gratitude for saving his life or if he genuinely is attracted to you but you didn’t think you could resist Loki anymore.
You know he’s just mocking you about what happened. He doesn’t have any real feelings towards you. It’s in his nature to be playful. But every time he comes anywhere near you and he puckers those lips of his, your knees buckle and you almost give in.
Screw it! If he wants to tease you so badly, maybe you could call his bluff and kiss him back. Perhaps then he’ll realize that his joke had gone way too far and he’d stop. Yes! The next time he teases you, you’ll kiss him right back.
But he never did. After weeks of trying to get under your skin, he finally relented. Morning coffee breaks were innocuous and pleasant. Sometimes, he would have a cup waiting for you, just the way you like it. No quips. No lewd gestures about kissing. Just a handsome smile and a friendly, helping hand.
There were times you would see him walk out of the training rooms with Thor, holding on to his side in pain. You were ready for him to make a quick jab about needing your kiss to heal the ache. But none ever came. Only a quick, “Hello, darling,” in passing as he limped off in the direction of med-bay. You’ve missed your chance.
Days later, holiday lights still glittered around the buildings of New York. Remnants of Christmas still decorated Fifth Avenue. The frigid air nipped at your cheeks making you hold on to your faux mink tighter.
Tony’s New Year’s Eve party was different this year. No celebrities. No politicians. Just the Avengers, along with the friends and family that loved them. He had rented the whole rooftop of the Marriott Marquis, overlooking Times Square. Soft velvet settees were strewn across the space under a luxurious pergola and a fantastic view of the ball waiting to be dropped.
Lounging next to one of the many heat lamps, you wrapped your coat tighter around your shoulders. “So, who are you kissing when the clock strikes midnight?” Nat asked you, pouring you a glass of Bollinger. Her red lipstick was as bright as her hair. With one side of her fur falling down her shoulder, she looked like the classic Hollywood vixen, ready for her next close-up. Fitting for tonight’s Vintage Hollywood theme.
“I don’t know,” you lied, taking the stem from her hand. You knew exactly who you wanted to kiss tonight. “I haven’t really thought about it.”
“Liar.” She said so cooly. You smirked, chastising yourself for trying to lie to one of the world’s best interrogators. “I bet I could guess who!” She sang as you rolled your eyes.
“Even if I did want one of them to kiss me, that doesn’t mean that they will.”
“Come on. I’m sure one of them would love to snog you at midnight,” she chuckled. “An extra blessing of good health and fortune for the coming year…” She wagged her eyebrows and elbowed you.
“Oh, please.”
“Ok, there’s Steve.”
“Your ex?!”
“Ya!”
“No!” you exclaimed.
“He’s a great kisser.”
“Then why don’t you kiss him at midnight”
“We’re trying to get YOU kissed. Not me, remember? OK, what about Thing 1 and Thing 2?” She said pointing to Sam and Bucky.
“No,” you said laughing.
“Why not?”
“No. I just don’t see them that way. It’ll make for an awkward kiss.”
“How ‘bout Bruce?”
“Bruce isn’t even here.” You said looking around the party.
“Ok then, what about Thor?”
“He’s with Jane.”
“Why not try your luck with tall, dark, and stabby then?” she said pointing to Loki with her champagne flute. You snorted at her nickname for Loki nearly spilling champagne as you took a calculated sip. “Oh my god!”
“Nat! Please. Keep your voice down!”
“No one can hear me! It’s a loud party.”
“Yes, a party with superhuman beings who have superhuman hearing!”
“Good! Maybe he’ll make a move!” She said slightly louder, hoping to grab his attention.
“Shh! Shh! Keep it down!” you laughed as you tried to calm her. “He’s been making moves. But I think…I dropped the ball on this one.” You looked over to where Loki was standing, trying to see if he had caught anything that Nat was saying. He was standing proud, having a conversation with Steve. His long black coat fit him snugly while the fur lining of his collar accented his sharp jaw. His gloved hand squeezed tightly around the cane he was holding, making you wonder if he did hear Nat. God, to have that gloved hand wrapped around my neck.
“He’s staring at you.” You heard Nat whisper to your ear.
“What?!” you turned to Nat and then back to Loki quickly, meeting his stare. You were so caught up in imagining his hands that you missed his eyes on you.
You see Loki and Steve staring at both of you, saying things under hushed tones. “They’re probably looking at you,” you explained. “What’s the deal between you and Steve, anyway?” You changed the subject. “How long has it been since you guys talked?”
“A while.”
“How long is a whi-”
“Listen, since I don’t have anyone to kiss either, why don’t we just kiss each other at midnight? Deal?”
You paused at her ability to change the subject. You gave her a knowing look but allowed her to escape your scrutiny. “Deal!” you sighed, giggling as you clinked your glasses again and took sips readying for round two.
Loki smirked as he listened to your entire conversation. Up until now, he’s been patiently waiting for you to come to him. Giving you compliments. Finding small but lingering ways to touch you. He didn’t know if his tactics were working until he overheard your conversation with Agent Romanoff. He was confident you returned his affections.
Nerves shot through his entire body. Excitement and anxiety all rolled into one giant emotion he could not define. Who knew that Barnes and Wilson’s advice would work? “Tell me, Rogers, what is this tradition you guys have about kissing each other at midnight?” Loki asked as he watched you and Romanoff.
Steve followed Loki’s stare and saw you and Natasha lounging and laughing over a bottle of champagne. He remembered how he and Nat kissed at midnight last year, promising each other to try. But ultimately failing after six months.
“It’s a stupid superstition that doesn’t mean anything,” Steve said bitterly. Loki gave him a look to continue. “It’s said that whoever you kiss at midnight, will be your sweetheart for the rest of the year. Or if you’re already in a relationship, make it stronger.”
“I see,” Loki said contemplatively.
“It’s just superstition, Loki, don’t buy into it.”
“If you’ll excuse me, I have to find my brother.” Loki excused himself, already putting together details of a plan in his head.
“Thor! Thor…” he said pulling him aside. “Did you know about this Midgardian tradition of kissing at midnight?”
“Yes! Jane and I planned on it when the hour strikes. Who will be your intended, dear brother?” Thor asked happily. Loki looked at him pointedly. “Oh! You got the priestess to agree to kiss you?! That’s wonderful news!”
“Not quite. I need your help.”
“Get Help?”
“NO! For Father’s sake, if you throw me across the room, I will END YOU!”
“Alright, alright. I jest Loki. What can I do to help?”
“I’d like to kiss her at midnight, but too many people are vying for her attention. Too many variables. Too many options.”
“Don’t worry little brother, I’ve got this!”
Ten minutes before midnight, you can feel the buzz in the air as everyone scrambles to ring in the new year. You and Nat had graduated to the bar. Both of you nursing new flutes of prosecco.
Behind you, Thor rushes through the crowd looking for Steve. “Rogers, who are you kissing at midnight? Nat or Wanda?”
“Nat or Wanda? What do you mean?”
“Well, you have to kiss someone. Isn’t that your Midgardian tradition? And I figured you wouldn’t want to kiss Nat, I mean with your history and all…”
“Well, ya…” Steve rubbed the back of his neck, thinking about Thor’s proposition. “But what about Y/N?”
“Oh, Lady Y/N is kissing my brother.”
“Loki?! But, I…”
“Oh, I apologize. Did you want to kiss my brother instead?” Thor asked quickly. “I can look for him and change his mind. I didn’t know you had…”
“NO! No, I don’t. But, um…”
“Wonderful! So, Nat or Wanda?”
“I guess Wanda,” Steve shrugged. “Nat and I do have a history.”
“Perfect! I’ll let Wanda know.”
“Now hold on just a second…” Steve’s voice trailed away as Thor sprinted into the crowd. His eyes searched for the Scarlet Witch among the revelers and found her amidst a harem of men all rivaling for her attention.
“Wanda!” Thor shouted, frightening some of the men in the group. “Come. Steve says he wanted to kiss you at midnight!”
“I knew it! He couldn’t hide behind that shy act for long!” she said standing up and smoothing out her dress.
“Perfect! You should go to him right now, and make sure no one else claims him before you do.” Thor said. Wanda nodded with determination and marched her way over to Steve.
“Oh, come on Thor!” Wilson said behind him. “I was just about to ask her!” Thor turned to see Sam and Bucky amongst Wanda’s many admirers.
“Uh…you’re in luck, my dear friends. I know someone anxious to kiss you both.” Thor gleamed.
“Us both?” Bucky questioned. Thor pointed to where you and Natasha sat.
“Ooh, nice choice. But I doubt that Steve would actually like that.” Sam said.
“And I believe Y/N is already spoken for,” Bucky added, pointing to Loki walking in your direction.
“It is for Steve we do this!” Thor wrapped his bulging arms around each of their necks. “We all know how miserable both he and Natasha are right now. Make him a little jealous. Perhaps he’ll rise to the occasion and get back his true love.”
“His true love?” Sam questioned.
“For true love!” Thor repeated, squeezing their necks tighter.
“The things we do for our friends,” Bucky grumbled under his breath.
Meanwhile, Loki made his way to the bar where you and Nat were laughing. “Ladies,” he said in that low baritone of his. “I’m sorry to disrupt your merriment, but may I speak to you privately, Agent Romanoff?”
You and Nat exchanged glances as she raised her eyebrow. A smirk fell upon her red lips and that’s when you felt it. A sharp pang of jealousy that twisted a knife in your gut. You hoped that your smile was still plastered on your face. Lord knows Nat could spot a tell from a mile away and you weren’t as good at hiding it as she was.
Loki offered his hand and Nat took it, hopping off the barstool, hand in hand with the man you’ve been pining for. You waited till both their backs were to you when you turned back around to the bar and let your smile die.
“Can I get a shot of tequila!” you yelled to the bartender, holding up your hand. You watched as Loki led Nat to the middle of the room, his arm wrapped around her delicate waste. “Make it a double!” you said with a huff. The sight in front of you was too much to witness. You had accepted that you might not get to kiss Loki at all tonight, but to watch him kiss someone else would be devastating to you.
With nothing, and no one else, keeping you at the party you decided to leave. You ran from the party as quickly as possible with your head turned down, holding back tears and feelings of betrayal.
“Loki, I hope you’re not gonna ask me for a kiss at midnight. That’s a hard pass.” Nat started before he took her very far.
“No, my dear. I overheard your conversation earlier with our dear healer. I was hoping to alleviate your promise of kissing her at midnight by offering you an alternative.”
“What alternative?”
“Two, alternatives actually.” At this, Loki gently grabbed Natasha’s shoulder and spun her around to see Bucky and Sam by the DJ booth. Sam held his drink up to her in greeting, while Bucky just grinned.
“Two! Steve wouldn’t like this.”
“Roger’s is kissing the Witch tonight.” He pointed to where Steve and Wanda were talking. Jealousy burned inside Natasha. A quiet resolve cemented in her and she was set on making him pay for it. “But what about Y/N?”
“As I said, I plan to take charge of her kiss from midnight, and all her kisses thereafter,” Loki winked at her.
“Don’t play with her heart, Loki.”
“I should warn you of the same with your soldier, agent.” He bowed slightly as Nat sauntered her way over to the two soldiers waiting for her.
When Loki turned back towards the bar, his face had fallen realizing that you were no longer there. Panicked, he looked around and found a trail of your coat just as it disappeared inside the hotel. Loki looked at his watch- three minutes left. The crowd below started getting restless and the giant numbers on the large screen on top of the prismatic ball had started ticking down towards midnight.
“Darling, where are you going? The clock is about to strike.” Loki caught up to you at the elevators. You gulped at the sight of him coming towards you. Inside the lobby, the heat was almost suffocating, and Loki unbuttoned his coat to be less stifling. You watched as he removed his gloves, finger by finger, and stuffed them into his coat pocket. The action mesmerized you until you were face to face with him.
“Loki! Shouldn’t you be with Natasha right now?” You said as you looked up at the elevator numbers ticking by so slowly. You pushed the call button praying for the lift to come faster.
“She’s currently entertaining Thing 1 and Thing 2. If my memory of your conversation serves me correctly.” You stared at him in disbelief. You might have had too much to drink. But not enough to miss the implication of what that meant.
He knows. He overheard your conversation and he knows!
He placed his hands on your waist and pulled you towards him, leading you away from the elevators. Away from the notion of running.
His fingers were soft and warm as he cupped your cheek. “Since you’ve saved my life, I have plotted and asked several times for you to kiss me again, my angel. I will not ask again.” His lips were grazing your skin. The heat in his breath intoxicated you. You closed your eyes at the overwhelming sensation of being held by him. “I told myself that the next time we kiss, it would be because you asked me to. Not out of any obligation. But because you want me. As much as I want you.”
Outside you could hear the deafening roar of people counting down from ten. It melded with the electric buzz going through your body being held so close by Loki. “But I truly can't resist you any longer. I have thought of nothing else since you kissed me that day on the field.”
“Loki…”
“Please ask me.” Three.
“What?” Two.
“Ask me to kiss you.” One.
“Kiss me Loki-” you barely said his name when his lips found yours and held on tight. A slight whimper fell from your lips, and he reacted by holding you tighter against his body.
Your fingers were entwined in his hair, holding him close to you. You pulled away to catch your breath, and his lips followed yours—unsatisfied from the short amount of contact they had received.
This kiss was different than the last. There wasn’t a threat of losing his life hanging over you. Instead, the urge was from longing and desire. There was fire and vigor in his lips. And you consumed him easily like a starved woman.
“Happy New Year, my dear,” Loki exhaled between kisses.
Hiii I was thinking an angst thing about loki accidentally hurting reader with his magic? Or something similar? Have a good day!!
Please Forgive Me
Pairing: Loki x female reader (Y/N)
Summary: As an analyst, you're not even supposed to go on missions but when Fury & Steve decide you are needed in the field, Loki accidently volunteers to train you. Despite your best efforts, your crush on the God of Mischief grows and when he finally tells you that you're ready to go with the team, you're filled with nervous excitement. Loki makes you promise you'll stay close to him but his desire to protect you from danger leads to you being injured by his magic.
A/N: Thank you so much for sending in this request! I love a good angst fic! Sorry it took so long for me to write it. It also got away from me a little (a whole lot actually) and I made it about three times as long as I meant to. I hope you like it! 💚
"Congratulations captain, this might be the most absurd plan you have ever come up with," Loki says with an eye roll as he leans back in his chair across from you.
You feel yourself shrinking, trying to be invisible as you sit between Natasha and Clint. Your eyes focus on your open laptop. The notes you had been taking stop mid sentence, leaving off exactly where Captain Rogers announced you were expected to join the team on the next mission. There's no way I should be doing this. I honestly don't think I've ever heard a worse idea in my entire life. I know it and so does the God of Mischief, you keep your anxious thoughts to yourself.
"None of us can access the computers as quickly as Y/N can. And that's not the only issue, one misstep and all the data on those hard drives will be wiped, we can't risk that," Natasha explains calmly.
"Nat's right, we can't complete this mission without Y/N," Clint says, the conversation continues as if you're not in the room and you wish you weren't. "Normally we could just mirror the drives or physically remove them but we can't, they need to be accessed on site."
You bite your lip, trying to find a flaw in their assessment of the situation but you can't find any. This is what I get for being SHIELD's top expert in Hydra's overly complicated computer system. I thought it was a good thing when I figured out how to extract files without triggering their firewalls but it seems like it's working against me now, you think. I guess my boss was right, I really should have gotten around to teaching other analysts to do this too because now they're going to send me to a freaking Hydra base in the middle of nowhere. You sink further down in your chair and debate escaping from the conference room, your eyes drifting towards the door. There's no way I'd make it anyways, every single person in here is faster than I am, you give up on that idea quickly.
"What's your plan then?" Steve asks Loki, folding his arms across his chest.
Your attention is now completely focused on Loki, curious to hear if he actually has a plan but he's still staring down Steve. The Asgardian doesn't look in your direction once, almost at if he doesn't realize your sitting directly across from him. "My plan remains the same, leave her here so she doesn't get herself killed," Loki says and you're quick to note that there's no concern in his tone.
He's not worried for my safety, he's simply stating a fact. I've never been in the field before, never held a gun, never learned to fight and why would I need to? I spend my days as far away from danger as possible, tucked behind a desk in my office on the 73rd floor, you think.
"She won't get killed," Steve says matter of factly but you're not sure you believe him anymore than the god does.
"And you can guarantee her safety?" Loki asks again without even a hint of worry. "You cannot simply send a civilian into an active Hydra base and assume they will not be injured or worse. She needs training-"
His words are cut off suddenly by director Fury who is sitting at the opposite end of the oval table. "That's an excellent idea your highness," he says with a sarcastic tone that makes you nervous and Loki wary.
"What is?" the younger Asgardian furrows his brow and looks at the director. You sit up straighter in your seat, unsure if Fury is on your side or not.
"You're right, Y/N needs field training," he says and you look from Fury back to Loki quickly as your eyes widen when you realize what he means. "You have one month to get her ready, we can postpone the mission until then."
"Wait!" Loki stands in response, ready to argue. "That is not what I was suggesting-"
"This sounds exactly like what you were insisting on," Thor smiles as he stands from his seat next to Loki, patting his younger brother on the back.
"I was not offering to do it myself," Loki argues, pulling away from his touch.
"I think you were," Natasha smirks.
"No, this is absurd," Loki groans. "I do not have time for this mortal-"
"Then make time," Fury says in a tone that leaves the god no room for further arguing.
Loki sighs deeply in defeat as he sits back down, his arms folded across his chest and his eyes drop to his coffee mug. After a brief moment of silence, he lifts his head and looks directly at you for the first time since the meeting began. "Seven o'clock in the East training room tomorrow morning," he states. You nod and he adds sternly, "Do not be late Y/L/N."
(The next morning - evaluation day)
You walk quickly down the hall towards the training room Loki reserved for you this morning having no idea what to expect. You're almost ten minutes early but you could barely sleep and you're terrified of how Loki might react if you are even a few minutes late. Pushing open the heavy metal door, you pause when you see Loki leaning against a nearby wall reading a thick leather bound book.
"Oh, good morning," you say. You didn't think he'd already be here and you attempt to sound cheerful and not overwhelmingly nervous.
The prince looks at you silently, checks his watch then nods seemingly in approval of your timing. The book vanishes into a haze of green mist and he takes a step towards you. "It's good to see you can tell time at the very least Y/L/N," Loki says.
"Y/N is fine," you tell him, trying to ignore what might be the closest thing to a compliment you get from him today.
He looks at you for a moment and you can't read his reaction to you at all. Today is going to be the longest day of my life, you think as you follow him to the center of the empty room.
"Wow," you mumble, you've never seen the training rooms before but you heard they held some of the most impressive technology in the Tower. The large space is covered in what appears to be simple white tiles, the floor, the walls and even the ceiling. The holograms created by the computer program can mimic any setting or environment, even weather conditions. Your eyes travel up to the high ceiling and you bump into Loki after not realizing he stopped walking.
He lets out a deep sigh in annoyance and you apologize, "I'm sorry."
"After you complete the simulations today, I will determine how many times a week we will need to meet and how long the training sessions will be," he says without acknowledging your apology.
You bite your lip anxiously, "So today is a test?"
"Yes, I need to evaluate your current abilities," Loki confirms.
"In that case, I have a really bad feeling we're going to be spending a lot of time together," you mumble when he walks towards the door leading to a side room for observation.
"As do I Y/L/N," he agrees even though you thought he was too far away to hear you. The God of Mischief goes into the observation room and you watch him through the glass that separates you. He takes a seat at the desk and turns on the computers, the lights around you dimming slowly.
"Hey, before we start I just wanted to say thanks," you say and Loki lifts his head, looking at you through the window. "I know you didn't really volunteer but you were the only one who seemed... concerned," you know that's not the right word but it's all you can think of at the moment, "about me going on the mission."
"The super soldier sometimes forgets how weak humans truly are," Loki responds, his voice coming through the speakers into the room.
"Yeah... well," you shrug. "Thanks anyway, I don't actually want to die out there," you laugh awkwardly.
Loki's quiet and you sigh, not expecting him to respond but after a few seconds he says, "You are welcome Y/N."
You smile, hoping the fact that he called you by your first name means he might be warming up to you just a tiny bit. Only a second later, the lights go out completely, your heart suddenly racing as you realize the evaluation has started and you have no idea what's going to happen.
(One month later)
You duck low as a series of bullets fly towards you, hitting the car you're using as cover. Swearing under your breath, you sit up, pressing your back against the car then stand as you turn, returning fire. Each bullet hits it's mark, taking out all three Hydra soldiers and clearing your path. You stay low, your eyes scanning the debris that litters the street as you make your way quickly around the bullet riddled car. You spot another soldier just as he steps out from behind an overturned bus. You fire first, taking him out easily then you run towards the brick building across the street and head through the open door.
As soon as you step over the threshold you squint, shielding your eyes with your hand as everything around you becomes almost blindingly white. The sounds of the harsh wind and distant sirens vanish as suddenly as the unpleasant smells of smoke and blood. You lower your hand, smiling as the training program is fully turned off and Loki walks towards you.
"So... how did I do?" you ask, hopeful as always to have his approval after a training session.
"Very well, darling," Loki smiles warmly at you.
You can't help but blush at the pet name he started using just a few days ago. The first time the annoyingly handsome God called you darling wasn't even in the training room. You were sure you misheard him say 'have a good evening darling' when you stopped by his office briefly with a question but he continued to use the pet name each time he saw you after that.
"I have good news," he tells you while he follows you to get your water. "I think you are officially ready to join the team on the mission."
You take a long drink of water then look at him stunned. "Really?" you ask excitedly.
"You passed every assessment I have thrown at you for the last week," he confirms with a proud smile. "I am no longer worried you will get yourself killed," he laughs a little.
You smile wide, "You know what that means right?"
He sighs deeply. "You truly mean to hold me to that?" he asks, sounding annoyed by the bet you insisted on two weeks ago but you know him better than that, or at least you hope you do.
"Aww don't pretend like you're not super happy about this," you laugh and hold your arms out wide. "You agreed, if I passed your silly little evaluation I got a hug."
"It is not silly," Loki says and you continue to smile at him, your arms still open. "Fine," he caves as he walks up to you, "but this stays between us."
You can barely contain your excitement when he steps close to you and accepts your hug. You had brought up the deal as a joke after watching Loki's pained reaction to Thor trying to give him a hug. You never honestly expected Loki to agree to it and you definitely didn't think he'd actually follow through with it. Now that the moment is finally here, you really don't want him to let go any time soon because you know you might never get another hug.
"This is nice," you tell him, resting your head on his chest as his arms close comfortably around you.
He doesn't respond but you can tell by the way he breaths deeply that he doesn't hate this type of affection as much as he claims to. After much longer than you expected, Loki finally clears his throat and let's go of you. "That is enough of that," he steps away from you, his eyes lowered as he smooths the nonexistent wrinkles from his black dress shirt. You watch him closely and when he looks up, you can see the smile he's fighting to hide.
"When do you think the mission will be?" you decide not to tell Loki that hug was better than you had imagined.
"I will let Fury and Rogers know you are ready at our afternoon briefing," he says. "We could be sent out as early as tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" you ask, your nerves creeping in suddenly. Surviving the training was one thing but actually going on a mission is still a scary thought.
"You will be fine darling," Loki reassures you. "I would never tell the director you were ready if you were not."
"Cause you're worried about me dying," you tease, both of you knowing Loki is in this position because he pretended to be concerned for your safety.
He rolls his eyes at you, "I will neither confirm nor deny that I do not wish for you to die while on the mission."
You giggle, "You always say the sweetest things."
Loki laughs at that, shaking his head lightly as he walks towards the door. You follow closely and pick up your gym bag. He opens the door for you and just before you step into the hallway you say, "I really hope I don't disappoint you when we do finally get to the base."
"You couldn't possibly disappoint me darling," Loki smiles warmly at you.
"That's not what you said a few weeks ago," you remind him, trying not to focus on how much larger his smirk gets when he sees you blush.
"I have been known to be wrong once or twice in the last thousand years," he admits as he steps out into the empty hallway. "But that stays between us."
"Like the hug?" you ask with a giggle.
"What hug?" Loki says before turning to walk in the opposite direction you need to go in.
(Three days later)
You take a deep breath as the target location comes into view, the jet's radar beeping to alert everyone that you're entering the drop zone. Loki sits next to you, squeezing your hand gently, sensing your anxiety rising. He leans close so the others can't hear and whispers, "You are going to be fine. Stay close to me darling."
You nod, thinking back to Loki's promise this morning after the final briefing for the mission. He told you he would keep you safe and in return, he made you promise to stay near him. A few weeks ago, you never would have believed Loki's promise but today you trust him completely.
The pilot gives everyone the signal to get ready and you stand up, following the prince as he walks to the back of the jet. The door opens and a rush of cold wind whistles through the jet. You take a step backwards, your back bumping into Loki's chest as you watch Steve, Natasha and Clint jump to the ground far below.
Loki gently puts his hands on your arms, turning you so you are facing him without a word. There's a small smile on his face when he tugs on the straps of the bag containing your parachute, tightening them slightly then his eyes scan your uniform and belt to make sure all of your gear is in place.
"Just like we practiced darling," he smiles encouragingly, his hand resting lightly on your cheek so you are looking directly at him. "Then wait for me so we can go to the computer lab together," he reminds you again. For a brief moment, you think Loki might lean down and kiss you but instead you tell yourself now isn't the time for your crush on him to surface. He lowers his hand and you can't help but instantly miss his touch.
With another deep breath, you smile at him and nod your head. "I've got this," you say, your nerves calming as you become more confident. You've been working so hard to get to this point and it's finally here. In the last three years of working for SHIELD, you never once had a desire to be in the field but now that you're here, you want to prove to yourself and everyone else that you can do more than just sit behind a desk.
There's another reason you need this mission to go well, you want to make Loki proud of you. He spent so much time with you over the last month, helping you in session after session. Coming in early before his meetings, staying late at night, finding time on the weekends to make sure you were as ready as possible. The prince even made his own deal with you this morning, he said you could have another hug after the mission and that was all the motivation you really needed.
"Yes you do," he agrees, taking a step away from the door. "Ladies first," he chuckles and you laugh, another bit of tension leaving your body.
You step up to the open door, look at Loki briefly over your shoulder and jump from the jet exactly like he had instructed you to.
(Fifteen minutes later)
You pull the chair out quicky and sit behind the steel desk while Loki stands guard at the door that leads from the main hallway into the lab. There is a second door behind you that leads to a much smaller corridor and the prince keeps his eye on it while you get to work.
"I need about fifteen minutes," you tell the team over the comms as the system reboots.
"Try to do it in ten," Steve responds and you look up in time to see Loki roll his eyes at the sound of the captain's voice.
You fight to hold back a smile. Why does he have to be so cute when he's annoyed, you think. The computer beeps as you type in a command then insert the USB to begin pulling data off the servers.
"It will take as long as it takes captain," the God of Mischief answers for you, his tone firm yet he gives you a smile when your eyes met before you look at the screens again.
You continue to copy file after file to the USB as quickly as you can for the next few minutes. The distant sound of gunfire from above keeps you vaguely aware of where the rest of the team is. Their goal is to distract the soldiers for as long as possible while you finish your work which is thankfully almost done. "Two more minutes," you inform the team over the comms, "just a few more-"
The door behind you slams open, your heart pounds rapidly in your chest as your hand moves to the empty holster on your belt. The God of Mischief yells something but you don't hear the words, rising to your feet to reach for your gun across the desk. You had removed it from your belt and placed it there before crawling underneath the desk to move a few cables right after you arrived. As soon as you are on your feet with your hand on the gun, you see the soldiers rush into the room but in an instant their faces fill with fear and you look towards Loki.
Turning your head, all you see is a bright flash of green rushing towards you as Loki's seider reaches across the room and slams into you.
(Later that night)
You groan and open your eyes slowly, squinting at the sudden brightness around you. A faint beeping in time with your heartbeat fills the room as everything comes into focus after blinking a few times. Pale blue walls surround you, the smell of antiseptic and sanitizer makes you scrunch your nose then it hits you. Oh crap, I'm in the infirmary, you realize suddenly.
"Welcome back," says a friendly voice to your left and you feel the light tug of an IV in your arm when you shift on the bed. You turn your head to face the voice but the quick movement makes you dizzy and you close your eyes again with another groan. "I'll get the doctor, try not to move too fast," the nurse tells you.
Breathing slowly, you feel yourself drifting off to sleep until the door opens and closes again. You open your eyes, forcing yourself to stay awake, you're exhausted but you need to know what happened.
"Hi Y/N, I'm Dr. Palmer," she says, looking up from her tablet. "How are you feeling?"
"Everything hurts," you mumble honestly. Your whole body is sore as you try to sit up a little in the bed. When you put your hands down on either side of you for leverage you look down and see a white cast on your left wrist then look up at the doctor.
"I'm sure it does," she says, looking back down at the tablet to skim your records. "Seems like you were thrown pretty far."
"Thrown?" you ask, rubbing your temple gently when you feel a bit of gauze and wince.
"Careful," she reaches out to lower your hand away from your injury. "I'm not surprised you don't remember the incident."
"The incident?" you repeat her, looking down at your hands as you think and suddenly remember seeing a flash of green light before everything went black. "Loki?" you ask, looking up quickly which causes you to become dizzy and close your eyes again until the room stops spinning.
She waits for you to look at her again before answering. "According to the field report, the room was breached by Hydra soldiers and Loki failed to make sure you were out of the way. He threw the soldiers and you into the concrete wall at the far end of the lab."
You listen to her in silence, pieces of your memory slowly returning. The soldiers were coming... I tried to reach for my gun... no, I had gotten it, I remember feeling the metal grip in my hand... Loki yelled something at me... Loki's magic. You close your eyes tight, pushing away the fear that surfaces with the memory of seeing his seider spreading towards you so fast there was no time to react.
"I remember bits and pieces," you clear your throat and look up at Dr Palmer.
"You're memory will most likely return slowly over the next few days. You have a mild concussion, some bruises, a fractured wrist and several stitches," the doctor informs you. "You'll need to stay here tonight so we can keep an eye on you but you should be able to go home tomorrow. I want you to rest for the next week, then you should be able to return to work."
"Thanks," you mumble, staring up at the ceiling, your mind replaying the last few minutes of the mission you remember.
Dr. Palmer watches you quietly for a moment then pats your leg gently to get your attention, "Get some rest Y/N. I told the team they can visit you in the morning before you're discharged."
"Thanks," you respond again, barely listening to her. She turns and walks out of the door, leaving you alone with your thoughts. Your mind wanders back to when you first began training with Loki and you wonder if his first impression of you was right, you never should have been in the field.
(One month ago - first day of training)
You slam to the floor hard on your side, groaning in pain as the bright lights come back on and the room resets. "Shit," you mumble when you hear the observation door opening fast enough for it to hit the wall. It's the fourth time in a row you've failed at the same point in the simulation and you don't need Loki to tell you this isn't a good start to your training.
Loki's footsteps are not rushed but the heaviness of his leather boots on the tiles makes you get off the floor much faster than your body wants to. "I'm trying," you say in your defense before he utters a word.
"Not hard enough it seems," he counters in a harsh tone. "Honestly, am I wasting my time Y/L/N?"
You sigh at Loki's use of your last name, the little bit of progress you were making with him yesterday was gone as soon as you failed the simulation the first time. "No," you say, folding your arms over your chest despite how sore your elbow is. "I can do this I-"
"Possibly, if we had several months," he cuts you off, "but we have only one."
"I know," you look at the ground near where you had fallen most recently.
"As heartless as the team thinks I am, I do not actually wish for you to get killed on this mission," Loki says and you look up at him immediately. His expression is stern but his voice softens just enough for you to believe his concern for you might be real. "If you are not capable of succeeding, I suggest we put an end to this now. I do not enjoy watching you continually hurt yourself," he gestures to the bruise already forming on your cheek from a previous fall.
"I can do this, Loki," you tell him, more insistently this time. Sometime between 3 and 4 this morning you decided you were going to get this right no matter what. Your newfound determination was based mostly on your fear of failing but you were also desperate to prove Loki wrong. "Let me try it one more time," you bargain with the prince. "If I don't die in the simulation this time, you keep training me."
"And when you do die?" he asks, already expecting you to fail a fifth time.
"Then you give up on me," you tell him with a shrug. "Tell the director you were right and I'm not good enough to go out in the field."
"Very well," Loki easily agrees to your terms, turning to walk back towards the observation room. You wait for him to wish you good luck or tell you he does want you to succeed but he doesn't say a word. Instead, he simply closes the door to the observation room, takes a seat at the controls and turns the simulation back on.
(Present - the next afternoon)
A knock on the door of the small room sends a wave of hope through you, your heart telling you Loki is finally here to visit you. You know the prince won't come but you can't stop yourself from watching the door as your excitement rises slightly. You had a lot of free time today and you spent most of it trying to figure out why Loki is the only one who hasn't visited yet.
Three potential reasons stick with you, each more upsetting than the last. Your first thought is that Loki is so disappointed in you and he doesn't even want to speak to you. The second idea you reasoned out is that he is too busy gloating and telling the team he was right about you not being capable of succeeding in the field. The third idea is the most hurtful but it's the one you feel is more likely then the others. Loki isn't going to visit because he never actually cared if you got hurt. Calling you darling and seeming like he enjoyed being with you was just an act by the trickster god to get you to train harder, pushing you through pain and exhaustion.
"Hi Y/N," Thor smiles at you warmly when he opens the door and sees you standing by the bed, picking up the bag with your belongings the nurse brought it. "Glad to see you back on your feet so quickly."
"Thanks," you give him the same forced smile you gave Steve, Natasha and Clint when they visited earlier. The three of them stopped by only briefly but it was long enough to reassure them that you were fine. You honestly didn't mind them only staying for a few minutes, you were still tired and it was hard to pretend you weren't let down that Loki wasn't with them.
"Dr. Palmer said I'm doing better than expected so she discharged me," you tell him then walk towards the door.
"Heading home?" he asks, holding the door open for you.
"Yeah, I'll be back in a week," you tell him as you walk through the infirmary together. "Oh, actually I should probably stop by Steve's office before I leave right? I didn't get to write up my report on the mission, obviously, but I can do it from home."
"He already filed the case notes, I just came from the debriefing," Thor informs you.
"Wait, how?" you ask when he opens the door to the infirmary that leads back to the main building. "I thought he needed a report from everyone who was in the field."
"Loki explained what happened," he says, not looking at you as you make your way down the hallway. He sighs, "My brother is on probation again and he's lucky it's only three weeks. Tony was pushing for longer but-"
"Why is he on probation?" you stop walking.
"Because of what happened," Thor says as if that should be obvious. He gestures to your broken wrist, "He could have killed you."
"It wasn't his fault," you defend Loki without even thinking.
"He said it was," Thor starts walking slowly again and you stay with him. "We listened to the recordings of your comms, we could hear Loki yell for you to get down and only a few seconds later we heard him attack the Hydra soldiers and unfortunately you as well. Even if he had not admitted to being at fault, it's clear he did not make sure you were out of harms way before unleashing his magic."
"But that's not what happened," you grab his arm to stop him from walking towards the elevators again and he gives you a confused look. "I heard Loki say something right after the door slammed open but I was distracted looking for my gun. I got up to get it-"
Thor shakes his head, "You got up? You weren't already standing between him and the soldiers?"
"No, I was sitting. I stood up after the door opened, after he yelled," you explain, both of you heading to the elevators.
"And he knew that?" Thor asks, pushing the button on the wall.
"Yeah, he was literally looking right at me when they broke into the room," you tell him remembering the smile Loki gave you when you told them you were almost done. "Steve told me I was supposed to listen to Loki and instead of getting down like he said, I stood up. I got right in the path of his magic."
"Why would he lie about that?" Thor asks when you both get in the waiting elevator, you shrug in response. "This is truly odd. My brother rarely accepts blame for things he has been caught doing," he says, pushing the button to take you down. "I do not understand why he would insist this was his fault if what you say is true."
"I don't know why either but I'm going to ask him," you look up at Thor.
"He is in his room," Thor tells you. "He did not want to speak to me or anyone else after the meeting, I doubt he will come out anytime soon."
"How do I get there?" you've never been to the Avenger's quarters before and you don't want to wander around until you find him.
Thor smiles as he gestures towards the elevator panel and it's then you realize he didn't push the button for the ground floor like you had assumed. "I had a feeling you would want to speak with him," he says.
You walk down the hall, counting doors until you get to the one Thor told you belongs to his brother. Before you can lose your nerve, you clear your throat and you knock loudly. Loki opens the door a moment later and stares at you in silence, clearly not expecting you to have been the one knocking.
"Y/N, what are-" he tries to form a sentence but it dies off when you walk past him into his room without saying a word. He stands at the door watching you take a seat on his couch with a mixture of confusion and anxiousness. Loki closes the door but remains near it, almost as if he's afraid to come too close to you.
"Are you okay?" he asks when you still don't speak. His eyes focus on your broken wrist for a long moment before he sees the gauze covering the stitches on your temple.
"I'm fine," you respond vaguely then ask him what you really want to know. "Why did you lie about what happened?"
"I did not lie, Y/N," he says, still standing by the door. His eyes fall from yours to a space on the floor between you. "I hurt you, I should be help accountable for my actions."
"You know it wasn't your fault," you tell him and he shakes his head. "I wasn't standing in between you and the soldiers until after you warned me, I know you remember that."
"The specifics do not matter," Loki insists.
"Why not?" you ask, standing as you get annoyed with his refusal to answer your questions openly. "Do you think you need to take all the blame because you're the one who said I was ready for the mission? Or do you think you're helping me by trying to hide how stupid of a mistake I made?"
"Please, let it go," the prince says, his back almost against the door as you take a step towards him.
"Let it go, seriously? Loki, they put on probation because we miscommunicated. I can just tell Fury and Steve the truth and then you won't be in trouble," you suggest, feeling guilty that he's been punished.
"It is not necessary," the God shakes his head with no explanation which only annoys you more.
"Loki," you try again, taking a few more steps in his direction. "You just got off probation last year. You shouldn't be back on it cause of-"
"Just stop," his voice is stern you look at him, stunned into silence. He runs his fingers through his long hair and you bite your lip, thinking it was a mistake to come here. "I am sorry I just... Y/N, I have bigger concerns right now than my status on the team. I do not care about the probation."
"What's a bigger concern?" you ask, he finally moves away from the wall, closing the distance between you.
His eyes fall to your cast briefly then he looks into your eyes. Loki sighs, "You are."
"Me?" the word leaves your mouth quickly in disbelief. "If you were so worried, why didn't you visit me? Everyone else did, even Thor came."
"I wanted to but I honestly thought I would be the last person you wanted to see," he gives you an answer that never even crossed your mind.
"Loki, you were the only one I wanted to see," you tell him and now it's the god's turn to look at you in disbelief. You reach out and take his hand, "Every time the door opened, I hoped it was you. I just wanted to see you."
He squeezes your hand gently, "Darling, I am sorry I did not visit."
You can't help but smile a little when he calls you darling. "It's okay," you say but he shakes his head.
"None of this is okay," Loki let's go of your hand then strokes your cheek lightly. "Y/N, I am so sorry for hurting you. I promised to keep you protect you, to keep you safe while we were in the field and I failed to do so, I am the reason you are injured. I can not apologize enough darling. Please forgive me."
"I know you didn't hurt me on purpose," you put your hand over his. "And I promise, I really am okay. It's just a broken wrist and a few stitches, it's not a big deal," you decide to leave out the mild concussion to not make him feel worse. "You can ask Dr. Palmer if you don't believe me," you smile more sincerely than you have all day.
You watch him finally relax as his hand lowers and he smiles a little, "I believe you."
"Good," you sound more excited than you meant to and he chuckles lightly. "And before I forget, you owe me something and I plan on collecting."
"What do I owe you?" he furrows his brow.
"A hug," you smile wider. "You said I could have another one after the mission."
His expression changes quickly, a smile replacing his confusion. "A debt I am more than happy to pay," he says and you giggle.
You don't waste a second, pressing your body against his as you wrap your arms around him tightly. Your cheek rests on his chest and you close your eyes as you relax. He's quiet, one of his hands holding you around your lower back while his other hand moves slowly up and down your back. After a few seconds, you feel him press his lips to the top of your head lightly and blush instantly.
You lean back just enough to look up at him and he smiles but you can almost feel his sudden nervousness. Without thinking, you move and kiss him lightly but as soon as you feel his lips against yours, your body fills with panic. You try to pull away from the hug completely but Loki holds you in place against his body.
"I'm sorry, that was-" you don't look at him, embarrassed that you acted on impulse. You have wanted to kiss Loki for weeks, ever since your crush became more intense but this was absolutely not a good idea.
"You should be sorry darling," he says in a tone you recognize. It was the voice he used when you couldn't help but think he was flirting with you even though you tried to convince yourself he wasn't. You lift your head and look up at him, swallowing nervously when he smirks. "I wanted to kiss you first," the prince explains.
"You wanted to-" you try to repeat his words but they don't make any sense. You put your hands on his chest and distance yourself slightly but he keeps you gently in place. "I'm sorry. I've got a concussion, it almost sounded like you wanted to kiss me first," you giggle awkwardly as you look up at him.
He looks at you with concern, his smile fading quicky, "You did not tell me you had a head injury. Are you certain you should be out of bed?"
"Oh... right, yeah. I guess I left that out. I just didn't want to make you feel any worse but it's fine. It's just like a teeny tiny concussion," you tell him quickly. "Wait... no, don't get me off topic. That's not what I wanted to talk about. Why would you say that? You wanted to kiss me?"
He chuckles, "You are so cute when you are like this."
You blush deeply when he calls you cute and you press your cheek to his chest to hide again. Just a second later, you feel Loki's hand on your warm cheek as he tilts your head up. "You heard me correctly darling, head injury or not," the prince answers your question with another smirk. Before you can respond, Loki bends down slightly, pressing his lips to yours. He holds your body tightly and you give into the kiss easily, closing your eyes as your hands grip the fabric on the back of his shirt.
When he finally pulls back to break the kiss you can't do anything but giggle and he laughs while he plays with the ends of your hair. "So... you think I'm cute?" you ask him.
"I think you are truly stunning and I am amazed by you," Loki says with a smile that causes you to blush even deeper than before. "I had planned on asking you out on a date after the mission, when you came to get the hug I owed you but then I hurt-"
You place a soft kiss to Loki's lips, "Don't you dare blame yourself again."
He gives you a warm smile, "If I keep doing it, will you keep kissing me like that?"
"No," you laugh. "I'll probably tickle you or something."
"I would like to see you try darling," he smirks, taking your hand to pull you towards the couch.
"Oh, I should probably still talk to Steve and Fury," you tell him. "So you're not in trouble or on probation anymore."
"Absolutely not," he sits down and shakes his head.
You sit next to him and he puts his arm around your waist, keeping you close to him. "Why not?" you ask as you cuddle against him as if you've done it dozens of times.
"Because now I will have more free time to spend with you," he smiles and kisses the top of your head.
"I do like how that sounds," you kiss his cheek and lean on him comfortably. "Especially since I have the next week off, doctor's orders."

“You can’t be serious.” You take the garment from Loki, wishing you could smack the smirk off his face. “You lost the game. So you have to wear them.” He explains, crossing his arms as he leans against your doorway.
“I’ve never lost a game of Uno in my life. You were cheating.” You exaggerate, trying to talk your way out of it. “Put them on. I’ll know if you don’t.” He walks away, leaving you alone.
You and Loki were always competitive with each other, placing stupid bets on frivolous games. Two days ago, you were playing Uno when Loki wanted to make the game interesting. You had beaten him three times already, so you thought you had it in the bag.
If you win Loki had to spend an entire day doing your chores naked. He hated menial tasks, oftentimes he would pay someone else to do his cleaning and laundry. So you knew he would hate it. As for the naked part, you had eyes. You might not get along all the time, but Loki was beautiful.
You had let your dishes pile up, your laundry basket was overflowing, your floors were sticky. You had been busy with missions and Nick Fury made you attend meetings all week so you were behind.
Loki smirked when you told him what you wanted if you won. “If you want to see me naked, you only have to ask.” The devilish smile that accompanied his quip made your skin heat up from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
“If I win, you will wear the clothing of my choosing to the meeting on Friday.” You accepted, he would probably make you wear a burlap sack or a silly costume. You weren’t easily embarrassed, so whatever he picked wouldn’t be an issue. Fury would be mad with your theatrics, but you had been doing his bidding all week. He owed you.
The game had been going well. You had three draw four cards in your possession, using them strategically. Then the unthinkable happened. Loki won, placing a red card with a number two on top of your card. He had to have cheated somehow. He didn’t even know how to play until a few days prior when Steve taught him.
With only seconds to spare, you slid your panties down your legs replacing them with the pair Loki gave you. They were black and lacy. You were a little unsure why he wanted you to wear these specific panties. He had to be up to something. He wasn’t the God of Mischief for nothing.
You put them on, feeling something hard under the fabric. You straighten your sun dress and fluff your hair. You look at your phone, you were already late. You didn’t have time to take them off and inspect them. You weren’t a sore loser either, so you would wear them to the meeting.
You rushed down the hall to the elevator. You get on with three others, from their white coats you could tell they worked in the labs. You waited impatiently as the elevator stopped on the tenth floor letting them off. You were five minutes late now. You dreaded whatever smart ass remark Fury would have for you.
Finally, the elevator stopped on the sixth floor. You rushed out, running down the hall to the conference room. Fury stopped speaking to turn and greet you. “It’s about damn time.” He said, returning his attention to the smart board behind him.
You looked around the table for Natasha. She always saved a seat for you. But on her left sat Thor and Loki was on her right. The only empty seat was beside him. You curse him in your head as you walk around the table to take your seat. You wonder how he got Thor to switch from his usual seat beside Steve.
Fury starts talking again, calling on Tony to explain some new technology he was working on for all of you. You try to hide your yawn behind your hand. This stuff was always so boring. Why did you have to be here while they discussed how cool they thought this was?
You try to keep your eyes from fluttering shut, afraid you would fall asleep. A small vibration from your panties knocked the tiredness right out of you. It caught you off guard, but it was tolerable. You turn your head to look at Loki who is staring straight ahead, completely focused on Fury.
That little shit. You wouldn’t let him get the best of you, so you raised your hand asking a question and pretending you couldn’t feel yourself growing wetter. You sneak another glance at him, his prominent nose scrunching as he keeps his eyes forward. The vibration speeds up once, twice, three times. You ball your hands into fists, nails digging into your palm.
The device rolls in waves against you, brushing your clit. You bite your lip until you taste blood to keep from making a sound. It hums rhythmically, each pulse bringing you closer to orgasm. You can’t hear what Bruce says when he stands to pass out folders filled with the layout of Tony’s design.
He hands it to you, expecting you to take it from him. But you can’t, one hand is wrapped around the side of your chair, the other is clawing at Loki’s leg silently pleading with him to stop this madness. When you don’t reach for the folder, Bruce looks you over, taking in your frazzled appearance and the bead of sweat sliding down your neck. He mouths “You okay?” You nod a little too quickly and he sets the folder in front of you.
Loki opened your folder, bringing out the page Fury was discussing. His gaze lingers on your face for a second, and you think he’s finally satisfied and going to turn it off. The glimmer of mischief shines in his eyes as he returns his full attention to Fury. It takes every ounce of concentration you have to not yell in frustration. Then you realize his momentary kindness was only to distract you.
The vibration hits its peak, and you lose control. Your fist slams on the table. All eyes are on you. “Do you have something you’d like to add?” Fury asks, assuming your interruption was about the stupid technology you had no idea about. The ripples flutter against your clit, your lower stomach clenching with the onset of orgasm.
“Yes!” You stand up surprising yourself and Loki who lifts a brow. You can’t think clearly so you hope walking will help. You pace the area behind Natasha, every lift of your leg moves your panties, causing the vibe to reach new angles. “I love this! I love it! I lo-ove it!” Your voice raises a few octaves. Tony smiles, excited someone is showing interest in his hard work besides Bruce and Fury.
“This is the kind of enthusiasm I expect from the rest of you.” He says pointing an accusing finger at the others. “What do you love about it?” He prompts you. You stop behind Loki’s chair, he turns to watch the show you were putting on. You clutch the top of his chair, as the vibration sends you over the edge.
“It’s the best! God, the best!” You look in Loki’s eyes as your legs tremble. “Oh fuck! It’s incredible!” Tony is beaming, hands coming together to clap. “Thank you! This is the kind of reaction I was wanting.” The vibration finally stops, as you wobble a few steps to your chair. Loki gives you his hand to help you sit down. You reluctantly take it, settling back in.
The meeting was finally over five minutes later. Everyone rushed to leave except for you and Loki. “Asshole.” You playfully slap his arm. He stands, gathering his phone and folder. “If you need assistance cleaning up that mess you made” He gestures to your legs, “I’d be happy to help.” He flashes that irresistible smile before leaving you to recover in the conference room.
You find yourself and your village in the midst of winter, struggling to survive. But as fate would have it, you meet a powerful being willing to offer you a deal…
CW: MDNI!! survival, fear, temperature play, rough, penetration, P in V, light choking, hair pulling, spitting, worshiping, dom! Loki, overstimulation, deals, size difference, monster! Loki, textured! (Iykyk), flavored body fluid, magic? At play, etc.
The gusting wind was biting and cutting straight through your layers. You knew today would be one of the coldest of the year, but also knew that you needed extra food and supplies for the village, as people were beginning to run out. This winter had been an especially hard one, what with two elders dying and hardly any meat to hunt. Your village had survived off vegetables alone for the most part, and the children were growing sicker.
You cursed Ullr, god of the hunt. Surely he would have spared a few moments for his people.
But alas, it seemed as though the gods had all but forgotten your tiny village.
Your nearly frostbitten hands clutched desperately at your furs, blinded by the storm and flurries. Your people had begged you to stay inside and wait, but you snuck out. Which was a foolish decision, truthfully, as you could die out here and never be found. But you knew you needed to do something for the village.
Your people were fearful to wander out past the river after tales from nearby traders and towns circled of a large blue monster, something with eyes as red as blood and skin seemingly made of rock. The creature was described in whispered tones as a possible jötun, or giant, roaming Midgard for some strange reason. You knew this tale was probably just a trick of the light, someone spotting a rock or even animal and assuming the worst.
You began to feel your fingers go numb as you attempted to trek through the snow, cursing aloud. You squinted to look around, spying mostly trees…until you held a hand over your brow, blocking out most of the flurries of snow. A cave, off in the distance. Shelter.
Now you knew as a hunter and gatherer that entering a cave was an act of stupidity unless one was readily aware to fight. Bears and other predators enjoyed caves and made them their homes. However, you also knew that without that shelter, you may have lost all your limbs to the ice and snow.
So you trekked forward.
Once near the entrance, you smelled…smoke?
It seemed someone had come into the cave and lit a fire.
You cursed under your breath, looking up and praying to the gods that whoever was on the other end may be a kind soul.
“Hello?,” You called out, walking slowly into the cave. Though it was still cold, you felt your body begin to warm up slightly, bringing that sharp stinging pain of thawing along with it. A nuisance, yes, but a reminder that you were still alive.
You were met with silence.
You decided to walk back towards the fire in the distance, still armed and alert. Once you reached it, you noted a fire with no attendee, and the remains of a meal left. It seemed whoever had taken refuge here had since moved on. You sat down cautiously by the fire, your stomach pained from hunger as you stared at the leftovers of a meal, clearly gone cold. You couldn’t fight it any longer. With a hand still clutching your dagger, you shovelled the meat and vegetables in your mouth, moaning at the taste of something other than just your rations. You greedily lapped up the plate, praising whatever foolish stranger had left this haven for you to find.
Once you had eaten and warmed up by the fire, you felt a lull of sleep coming over you, and tried your best to fight it, only to nod off by the fire, clearly exhausted from fighting the cold.
When you awoke, your eyes were first met with blue. Blue carved skin like that of a rock, the skin bare… except for some gold armor plating and what looked to be an armoured loincloth? You froze and your mind raced. The creature was large, its head nearly touching the ceiling, with long black hair that reached its shoulders. You could not fight this being. You tried to even your breathing, hoping somehow, you could pretend to be asleep and take it by surprise. You tried to look around, your heart pounding in your chest, attempting to formulate a plan, a way to-
“I know you’re awake, little huntress,” The creature’s voice teased, the tone smooth and masculine.
You stayed still, bracing yourself. This was it. You were to die in this cave like a fool and-
“Come sit by the fire. We have much to discuss.”
You sat up slowly, keeping your eye on the creature as you felt around for your dagger only to find…dirt. Your eyes scanned the space only to see the creature holding your knife in its fingers, the instrument laughably tiny in his hands.
“No worries, little one. I will not harm you. Now come sit.”
His tone was teasing, almost mischievous. You were reminded of tales of forest tricksters and spirits who thrived off of chaos in the human realm. You needed to be careful.
You came towards the fire, sitting across from the creature. In the dim light of the cave, You could see his blue skin with thin grooves in it, like a carved rock. He wore golden armour and a pair of…horns? You took note of the creature's deep red eyes and long straight nose. His lips held a bit of a sly smile, as he arched a dark eyebrow at you.
“Enjoying the show?”
You held your ground, jaw tight and teeth clenched.
He sighed, poking at the fire and seemingly…bored?
“Midgardians used to be a lot more fun.”
You stared at the being, feeling fury rising up through your body into your throat. You tried to bite your tongue. Try being the key word.
“Perhaps being fun is less of a concern when lives are on the line,” You gritted out.
The creature blinked at you for a minute before grinning in amusement. “Quite a fiery huntress you are, hm?”
You felt the heat rise in your cheeks and anger drum in your chest. The creature viewed you as a cute little biting pup, something to coo at and laugh.
“Besides, if there’s an issue…I could be of help. Surely we can make a deal?”
You froze, your heart pounding in your chest as your brain quickly went through all the fables and tales you grew up with. One message was clear: Never make a deal.
You shook your head, standing up, and trying to be as stern as possible. “No, I think I will be on my way,” you stated as calmly as possible. Your hands were clenched at your sides to prevent them from shaking. “If you could give me back my dagger, I will be going.”
The creature grinned, shaking its head. “In this weather? You will be lost or dead in minutes. And you won’t find any of the supplies or food you need to bring back to your village.”
You blinked at the creature, confused as to how it knew, only for it’s smile to transform to some look of secrecy. “I take an interest in observing Midgardians.”
You stared down the creature, trying to feign confidence. “And how could you help us?”
He fiddled around with your dagger, seemingly bored. His voice was light and airy, as if discussing his day rather than a possibly dangerous deal. “I am…a sorcerer…of sorts. I can multiply your current food supply and ensure there are animals to hunt. I can also multiply your wood. Enough to survive the harsh months and have some left over.”
You bit your lip, considering the possibilities. You could help your people. You could end this before you lost any more villagers. But you knew there was always a trick.
“And what do I give you in return?,” You asked, trying to keep your voice even. You knew some frost trolls and giants (which is what you assumed this…thing…was.) desired to eat human flesh. You also knew that everything came with a price.
The giant stared at you, before seemingly shrinking down a bit. The creature was still massive, but closer to a very large human’s size. He came near you after tossing your dagger to the side haphazardly, his ice cold fingers going to touch your neck. The action sent a shiver down your back, your skin raising with goosebumps. He seemingly was intrigued by you and leaned down to whisper in your ear. “I desire you.”
You swallowed, your heart racing as you tried to control your breathing. “Wh-what do you mean?”
The frost giant pulled back and ran a finger under your jawline, tilting your chin up at him, smirk on his face. “It’s been nearly a century since I’ve bedded a human. One gets tired of their own hand.”
You felt your face burn as you tried to back away, mind racing with the thoughts of being bedded by this ginormous being, and what differences there were in anatomy.
“N-no, I think-”
The frost giant's eyes darkened as it leaned in closer, its breath hot on your face. “I can bring your pleasures never heard of, little one. I can make you see stars and give you such a holy experience that you may worship me,” His voice was a low rumbling growl, his words sending desire straight to your core and snatching the breath from your lungs. His nostrils flared and his eyes rolled back in his head as he chuckled darkly, grinning.
“You smell…absolutely sinful, little one. Don’t tell me you don’t desire this as much as I do.”
You swallowed, your brain swimming with visions of this creature bedding you. You were a woman of little words and needs, and often the time spent trying to care for the village took away much opportunity to indulge your wants fully. You bit your lip, thinking of your people, and how much weight this deal would take off their shoulders. Your stomach twisted at the idea while your heart raced and your core began getting slicker with desire. You steeled your nerves and began to strip off your furs, standing as bare as you felt comfortable to be in front of the creature.
“It’s a deal.”
The giant smirked, before it’s expression went dark once more. Your heart raced at the change in his demeanor.
“Kneel.”
You blinked up at the creature, bewildered. “Sorry?”
The creature growled deeply, eyes in a hard stare as it stood to full height, a little over twice your size, still intimidating in nature. “I said kneel.”
You scoff, shaking your head while opening your mouth to snap at the creature, when he growled, fingers lacing into your hair and pulling, causing you to fall to your knees. The pain stirred something deep inside you, making you slicker with wetness and your chest and face burn at the humiliation.
“You will praise me. I am your god now, little huntress.”
While you tried to ignore the somewhat stirring lust within you at being ordered, you couldn’t help but be curious. You looked up at the giant who dropped his loin cloth to reveal his hardened member, the shaft lined with ridges and lines similarly to the rest of his body, and a similar chill came off of it. You reached out gingerly to hold it in your hand, the weight shocking you. His cock felt hard like a smooth stone but cool to the touch and lined with etching and ridges. You find yourself stroking him, staring in fascination. His growls mingle with his moaning, his voice growing thick with desire.
“Now taste me. I want your mouth, little huntress,” He groaned out, eyes still glued onto you. You felt your core clench around nothing before leaning down to give a tentative lick, finding yourself drawn in for more. You opened your mouth and slid down the impressive girth, barely able to reach past the middle of the shaft. You tasted wintergreen and musk, involuntarily moaning. Deep down you knew this creature was no ordinary frost giant, the taste of its skin pulling out some type of ferocious lust in you. You bobbed your head up and down, drool slipping from your lips and covering both his cock and the floor. Your knees ached against the cold stone floor, yet the chill was somehow desired because the heat within you was unbearable. The creature, this god, held onto your hair, beginning to lead your head, becoming more forceful as his moans and growls became more wild. You were eventually pulled off with a vulgar pop, strings of spit coating the large member and dripping down your chin.
The giant grinned menacingly at you, red eyes burning you from the inside out. “Such a good little pet. So obedient for your savior.”
You nodded wordlessly, unable to reply, mind clouded with lust.
The giant still gripping your hair pushed you in the opposite direction, your face immediately going against the stone floor, your body on all fours. The creature then chuckled darkly, clearly able to see your slick wetness through your garments. A shocking ripping noise echoed through the cave and you felt a relief of a cooling air on your cunt, which felt as though it was dipped in the fires of Muspelheim. The giant moaned at the sight, it’s impressive hands gripping your backside and digging in what felt like claws. You heard him spit, and then felt the icy liquid touch your center, moaning at the tingling sensation it caused, making your already sensitive core aflame with need.
“Please, god, please, I will do anything you wish, please,” You found yourself saying, your mind focused on lust and desire. You would never usually react this way, always wanting to be in control and in charge of yourself, but this…being…this…deity made you wild.
You felt a sudden thrust into your core, your back arching in pleasure as the giant forcefully thrust in, your cunt pulsating with pain and pleasure. Tears welled in your eyes, the beast thrusting in and out at an alarming and inhuman rate, your moans tumbling out from your mouth at the feeling. You felt your core clench around his cock, your eyes rolling back as your pleasure was heightened at an alarming rate. The ridges of his cock heighted every thrust tenfold, and the chilling temperature seemed to mingle with your flaming skin and core in the most pleasurable way.
Before your could finish, the beast pulled out and shocked you with a ridged tongue slipping through your folds, moaning against your center. You whined at the loss of being filled until your felt your clit being sucked into his mouth, his ridged tongue flicking back and forth against the sensitive bud. You screamed, your pleasure crashing over you like waves, vision getting blurry with tears.
Your entrance, puffy and swollen from the intense pleasure was given no warning or rest. You felt the beast slam into you again, growling deeply, tugging at your hair once more, pulling your back towards his chest. The new angle had the ridges of his cock pressing against your walls in the most torturous way. You cried out, the pleasure unbearably intense as he rammed into you repeatedly, his cock pulsating within you. He moved his hand from your hair to grab the base of your throat and ripping your thin cotton blouse open, used his other hand to play with your breast, his fingers expertly tugging and kneading your flesh. He seemed to relish in your crying, a dark chuckle leaving his lips. You felt yourself lost in pleasure again, the waves crashing over you as you cunt pulsated around him, his growling ‘yes’, spurring you on. By this point, you could no longer hold yourself up, your legs shaking and hold body a light with pleasure on the verge of pain.
He leaned over to whisper in your ear, voice closer to a bestial growl. “You are mine now, little huntress. I will come from Asgard every winter season to claim you, drive you wild with my cock and pleasure you. Then I will give your village everything they need. But you must never let another Midgardian touch you. I am your god now, your savior.”
Your mind, ablaze with desire and drunk on lust, just swirled with fantasies of being the god’s plaything. You whined and cried as he began to thrust deeper, the ridges of his cock hitting you in the right spot.
“Do we have a deal, little wolf?,” He rumbled in your ear. You nodded before he thrust deeper into you, cutting off your nod with a sharp snap of his hips. “Answer your god properly.”
You nodded, voice thick with tears and pleasure, your body close to the breaking point again. “Yes, yes, yes….You are my…god! My god!,” You cried out, feeling the pleasure overwhelm you and crash over you, your body tensing up and giving out, practically collapsing in his arms.
You heard a dark chuckle, and a pause before the giant began thrusting in wildly once again, his member pulsating before his cum spilled into you, cooling off your burning cunt. You moaned again, collapsing into his arms, eyes fluttering. Despite all odds, you felt your body drift off…weak from the immense sensations and pleasure.
When you awoke, you were back in your cottage, wrapped in furs and a new fire burning. Your mind was fuzzy, remembering the snow and frost… but uncertain how you got home. You peered out the door to spy everyone rejoicing in the village tavern, beer flowing like water. You quickly went to change and raced to reprimand the idiots for wasting what was a last resort.
You rushed in, slamming the door open and about to shout before seeing everyone singing and rejoicing, their cheeks pink, and their eyes not holding the same hollowness as usual. You pulled aside one of the older hunters, Einar. He looked at you with one usually piercing blue eye, now warmer than you’d ever seen.
“Einar, what’s the meaning of this? We are starving and you are all drunk?!,” You hissed, anger and confusion clear in your tone.
Einar grinned, making you pause and feel as though you entered a fae realm. The man was known for being solemn and levelheaded, rarely smiling.
“It’s a miracle! The gods have blessed our storages with triple our goods! Our prayers have been answered!”
You felt your breath catch in your throat as memories flowed back to you. The giant. The deal. His icy touch against your feverish skin.
Was that real?
Was he truly a god?
You ran into your home, ignoring Einar’s confusion at your reaction, looking for a sign that the whole ordeal had been real.
You spotted a small piece of parchment upon your small table. Picking it up, you felt your heart pound and your core grow slick at the memory of him, though your heart was squeezed with fear at the words across the page.
Until next winter, little huntress.
Your savior,
Loki
Your cheeks burned hot as the sun as the breath was stolen from your lungs.
Loki was your giant? The trickster god?
Winter was sure to become a whirlwind of chaos and pleasure from now on.
Pairing: King Jotun Loki × Asgardian female reader
Warnings: there shall be angst here, not so much this time though, self doubt, accusations, political drama, self esteem issues, breastfeeding. I think that's it, if I missed anything let me know.
Summary: you hoped the birth of your son would bring you and Loki closer together, but as he continues to pull away you know he's hiding something from you.
A/n- I'm a bit rusty with all of this, be gentle 😁💚
Part one ~ Part two-
You rolled to your side gripping your stomach, your eyes shooting open as your incision throbbed. "Norns!" You whisper yelled hearing someone coming towards you. "My lady, do you need something for the pain?" You heard, looking up seeing Norendra standing over you, concern lacing her face "y...yes, please, this is....unbearable." You gritted trying to breath through the pain. "I'll be right back my lady." She said with a soft smile before hurrying off.
As she left a soft coo sounded from the corner of the room, turning your head you saw Loki, dressed every bit the king he was, in his long flowing forest green cape, and his perfectly fitted tunic and leather pants sitting straight up "does he ever relax?" You whispered as your eyes traveled up seeing his head slumped forward, when a small green bundle held firmly in his arms moved catching your attention making you look down into his lap. "Vali." You whispered, smiling see his full head of black hair, his bright azure skin glowing under the soft candle light.
"Alright my lady, I have something for the pain." You heard, unable to pull your eyes away from Loki and your son "how long has he been here?" You asked feeling a tear escape your eye traveling to your hair "the king has been here since you slept my lady." She said making your head snap to look at her "he hasn't left?" You asked scrunching your eyebrows together "no my lady, not once." She said uncorking a small glass vial "now drink this, it will help." Noreandra said holding the bottle out to you "thank the norns, you are an angel." You said grabbing it, downing it all on one gulp. "Good, now rest you will need your strength." She said taking the bottle from you. "Thank you norendra." You said looking back to the two most important people in your life "it is my pleasure my lady." You heard her say as your eye lids began to droop, feeling sleep begin to take you "I love you....both of you." You sighed as your eyes closed, sleep taking you away.
One month later-
You rolled to your back, the soft cries from the other side of the room pulling you from your sleep "loki...would you..." you trailed off reaching your hand out to find the bed empty, the sheets cold telling you he had been gone for quite some time. "Loki." You called out slowly sitting up as the cries became louder. "Alright little one, I'm awake." You sighed rubbing your eyes you pulled the furs back swinging your legs over the side. Standing up you shuffled across the room peeking into the crib "vali dear what's wrong?" You cooed rubbing his belly when his small crimson eyes opened looking up at you full of tears. "Come here sweet boy." You cooed gently picking him up you cradled him in your arms rocking him back and forth.
Is someone hungry?" You asked hearing him whimper "ok, let mommy get settled." You said taking a seat in the chair by the fire when you heard a knock on the door "come in." You called out when Alrik came in holding a tray "I have brought you breakfast my queen." He said setting the tray on the bed "is everything alright?" He asked looking you over "yes, he's just hungry...would you hand me that?" You asked pointing to a small green blanket on the bed. He walked over picking it up holding it out to you "I can go if you wish." He said as you draped the blanket over your shoulder "no...please stay." You said looking up at him seeing him smile "very well." He said taking a seat on the bed.
The two of you sat in silence as you helped vali get settled "where is he?" You asked plainly, looking up seeing Alrik looking everywhere but you "he is with king Thor in the throne room my queen." He said making you sigh "well, atleast he's here I suppose." You said when Alrik's head snapped to you "he hasn't spoken to you has he?" He asked fidgeting with his tunic "about what Alrik?" You asked furrowing your eyebrows "it's not my place to say my queen, you must ask him." He said looking down. "Well when will he be done with thor?" You asked seeing him squirm "they have had a bit to drink, the king is rather full at the moment so I am unsure." He said looking up at you "unacceptable." You said standing up, pulling little Vali from under the blanket "here, burp him and I shall return in a moment." You said gently handing your son to Alrik "i....I am unsure..." He said hesitantly cradling your sons head in his large hand
"It's easy, here I'll show you." You smiled positioning Vali on his chest, his head resting on his shoulder "now gently pat his back, ill be right back." You said as Alrik nodded. You walked to the wardrobe seeing every shade of green imaginable, smiling at the memory "a queen must wear her kings colors my love." He had said winking before pulling you into a deep kiss. "That feels like an eternity ago." You sighed, running your fingers across the silk and lace, remembering how things were when you first returned to jotunhiem after the battle with odin. "Why have things changed Loki?" You whispered feeling resentment begin to fill you "well If you can disregard me, I can do the same." You said pushing aside all the green seeing a deep purple velvet dress with fur accents you had had made shortly after your return "perfect." You said smiling, slipping it over your head you looked in the mirror seeing it still fit perfectly, your eyes traveling to your hair seeing it a mess "well that won't do." You said grabbing Loki's brush off the vanity you did your best to make yourself look presentable.
"Well, that's as good as it's going to get I think." You said tossing the brush down walking out seeing Vali asleep on Alrik's shoulder "well, how do I look?" You asked holding your arms out "stunning as always my queen." He said smiling "flattery will get you everywhere." You said hearing him laugh. "I'm off to bring the king back, by whatever means necessary." You said putting your fur slippers on Alrik had made you "a...are you sure? It may be unwise to..." He trailed off as you glared at him "yes my queen, I shall stay here with the little one." He said settling back "thank you Alrik, wish me luck." You said walking to the door "he is the one who needs the luck." You heard him say as you walked out gently closing the door behind you "a force indeed." He said gently rocking Vali hearing him coo "I believe your daddy may not survive this night." He said hearing a soft giggle come from the sleeping babe.
You stormed towards the throne room, anger building in you with every step you took. "If he does not want me here, he is going to tell me." You said to yourself coming up to the huge wooden double doors when two guards stopped you "I'm sorry my lady, but the king is entertaining king Thor at the moment." They said standing in front of you "You will let me in, that is not a request." You said standing firm. "We have orders not to let anyone in my lady." The other one said as you looked between them. "As your queen, I demand you move." You said as the other leaned down "the king has not married you, and even if he had, you are no queen of ours." He said standing back up as you took a step back "I beg your pardon!" You yelled seeing the other guard jump "You may have given the king an heir, but that does not make you a queen, it makes you a harlot." The other one said as you stood speechless.
"I swear to the norns, if you do not open that door you will see Valhalla tonight!" You yelled stepping forward when the doors flew open "what is going on out here?" You heard, looking down seeing Loki standing behind the guards, his hair disheveled and his tunic loosened at the top "your moronic guards refuse to let me in." You said crossing your arms "what did you need y/n? I am quite busy." Loki said looking you up and down "drinking with thor does not constitute you being busy." You said seeing the guards look at ecahother "come inside, I will not discuss this in front of my men." He said stepping aside. "Yes, wouldn't want them knowing how much of a lush their king is." You snarked feeling his hand grab your elbow "y/n. Inside." He said pulling you in slamming the doors behind him. "What is the meaning of this?" He asked turning back to you.
"Well, your son woke me up, and to my surprise my....I don't even know what we are....was not in bed with me." You said waving your arms. "I am your king." He said matter of factly crossing his arms "but what more then that?!" You yelled pacing back and forth "You have not married me, you avoid me at every opportunity, you clearly aren't sleeping in bed with me, and you haven't touched me in months!" You yelled as Loki grabbed your shoulder "y/n. Keep it down, others do not..." He started when you pushed him off "do not what? Need to hear that I am merely a bed warmer? A nanny for your heir?" You asked feeling tears well in your eyes "no! Of course not, I love you." Loki said taking a step towards you. "Then why are you avoiding me Loki, what is happening to us?" You said feeling a tear slide down your cheek.
"Have you found another who is more suitable?" You asked as Loki grabbed your shoulders again "that is preposterous, no one can compare to you my queen." He said looking into your eyes, the bright rubies as beautiful as the first day you saw them "then what is going on?" You asked hearing him sigh. "I am sorry I have not been as attentive as I should be as of late, there is something I need to discuss with you which in honesty I've been avoiding." He said sliding his hands down your arms.
"Discuss what with me Loki? Talk to me please!" You pleaded watching him look to the ground. "Y/n, i..." Loki started looking into your eyes when a large bang sounded from further in the room "brother! Are we not celebrating anymore?" A loud booming voice yelled, turning seeing Thor leaned back in a chair, his leg propped on the table in front of him. "Not now thor!" Loki yelled as you turned back to him. "Celebrating what?" You asked as he shifted back and forth. "I do not wish to discuss it now y/n, we will speak later when I return to our chamber." Loki said walking to the door "Loki, if you do not wish me here I will leave." You said crossing your arms as his head snapped back to you "I have never said I don't want you here love." He said, his eyes softening as you walked towards the door.
"My king, I will not continue this charade...your men do not repsrect me, you do not seem to desire me anymore, and you spend more time with Thor then you do me." You sighed grabbing the handle of the door "y/n, my love let me explain." He said as you put your hand up "I will be expecting you in our chambers within the hour, and you will tell me what you aren't." You said opened the door "You must decide what it is you truly want Loki, and if it isn't I and your son then let me go." You said feeling tears building In your eyes "y/n, please..." He said taking a step towards you "we will talk withing the hour Loki." You said gently placing your hand on his chest, your finger tips feeling his heart racing "go deal with thor, ill be expecting you." You said quickly turning and walking out of the throne room.
You headed towards your chambers ringing your hands together "what if he doesn't choose us..." You said to yourself looking down the hall, the walls draped with tapestries of history long past "what if I am not enough for him?" You said making it to the door of your chambers "what shall we do vali?" You whispered closing your eyes you opened the door, walking inside you crossed the room, slowly peeking into the bed chamber seeing Alrik asleep holding vali tightly in his hands, soft snores coming from both of them. Smiling you quietly closed the door, sighing as you walked towards the fire, sitting on the chaise you once called your bed you looked into the fire dreading the conversation that you were about to have. "Better to know now I suppose." You said sitting back waiting for what was to come.....

“CUT!” The director yelled. “There’s a schedule! How about we follow it, sweetheart?”
You ruined another scene.
Loki gave you a sympathetic smile before stepping away to whisper clandestinely with Stark. In the meantime the intimacy coordinator checked in about how you were feeling.
“You’re allowed a break if you need to stop. Don’t mind Stark, grumpiness is part of his directing process.”
“I’m fine,” you mumbled.
“Places! From the top!”
Loki returned to you. “Follow my lead… be in the moment, feel it,” he said gently.
“And ACTION!”
Loki pulled you in by your hips. “You behave so much better when I have my hands on you,” he husked, resting his forehead against yours.
Your lips parted. Everything else faded away.
The lust on your face as he went off script was evident, real.
If shooting wouldn’t end soon, you might’ve lost your mind, forgot it’s just acting.
Maybe you already had.

Number 7.
You knock on his trailer door. A moment later it swings open.
“Oh, it’s you,” Loki says surprised.
“I wanted to– uh–”
Loki’s eyebrows raise in question.
“Come in,” he smiles, stepping aside. You look around warily. Visiting a lead like this…
“You won’t get in trouble, I promise.”
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you head in.
“Please, sit. Tea?” Loki asks, closing the door, and walks to the kitchenette. You sit on the couch.
“Thank you,” you decline, shaking your head. “Mr.Laufeyson, I just wanted to express my appreciation for your help today.”
“Mr.Laufeyson?” Loki repeats, amused, fingers clasping the edge of the granite counter top. “Loki’s fine.”
Your face heats.
“I’ve been where you’ve been… In time you’ll come to understand that everyone’s but human.” Loki moves, settles beside you.
