Mobius would rather walk into death than live in a world without Loki.
one of the most overlooked yet devastatingly romantic Lokius moment, where Mobius makes a tear-jerking decision which deserves more attention.
Mobius agrees to go on a "suicide mission" heading back to Alioth because Sylvie says Loki is dead.
Sylvie: The storm, It's likely already got him Mobius: Do you really believe that? Sylvie: It doesn't matter!
Sure, Sylvie’s reaction makes sense for someone who’s grown up surrounded by loss, death & destruction but what really gets me is how unfazed she is!!! And… that’s the person you're supposed to be shipping with Loki??? Really??? What Sylki shippers are seeing in this dynamic is honestly beyond me! There's just... nothing there romantically.

(Funny how the canon ‘love interest’ doesn’t seem to care at all, but his ‘buddy’ is hanging on for dear life to the idea that Loki might still be out there.)
Meanwhile....The moment Mobius thinks Loki might be gone....his whole face falls. That look, pure grief, utter devastation.
Sylvie doesn’t care if Loki’s dead. she’s fueled by revenge and set on killing the TVA’s boss who ruined her life, with the power to protect herself. But Mobius has no reason at all to chase Alioth. So why on earth did he go after a raging death cloud, knowing it might kill him?
And then, just like that, Mobius volunteers to return to face Alioth. With Loki gone, He’s got nothing left to lose.
Why are Loki and Mobius so ride-or-die for each other?
A reminder that, OB’s pals with Loki too...
But Why is Mobius the only one afraid to lose him? Why he’d rather die than leave him behind?
it’s Mobius who can’t hide how deeply he cares.
constantly checks if he’s okay.
He gets nervous for Loki, pleads with his coworkers to buy Loki more time.
Mobius chooses to trust Loki’s version of the TVA over Ravonna (his supposed friend for eons) and ends up getting pruned for it.
He pushes himself to the edge for Loki, he goes to extreme lengths to save Loki
and is ready to die when he thinks Loki’s gone…
Perhaps that’s the moment Sylvie realizes, Mobius’s feelings for Loki run far deeper than she expected. And it stays with her...enough to tell Loki later. (Read: PART 1, PART 2 )
and off he goes...
the "Lokius tree" makes an appearance
and we’re calling that friendship? Yah right.
To the end..
How is this is not the "Love" of the highest order?
the most poetic, gut-wrenching, romantic love stories ever told?
To reduce a sacrifice like this as “just friendship/bromance” is demeaning and insulting.
Loki’s True Love Was Always Mobius. period.
The moment you reframe Lokius as a heterosexual duo, it gets painfully obvious that Loki and Mobius are written like a romantic couple. The world would’ve been all in, cheering them on and begging Sylkie to step aside by the finale. All it takes is a gender flip.
Season 1:
Loki, the fallen princess of Asgard, is the damsel in distress, stripped of power, identity, and purpose, captured in a strange land by the TVA. And Mobius is the battle-worn soldier of that land, hardened by duty but with a "soft spot for broken things"
Who sees all of Loki: the good, the bad, the ugly. Knows every flaw, every wound, every mask Loki wears. Sees his betrayal but still, he chooses him. He is not searching for perfection in his partner. But rather searching for his effort. to change.
Season 2:
The roles reverse. this time, it’s the damsel who saves the gentleman and his crumbling kingdom, the TVA. But in true tragic romance fashion, it all ends not with confession, but with sacrifice. A silent goodbye. A love never spoken aloud.
Loki steps into his newfound "glorious purpose" carrying with him the weight of unspoken LOVE for a man he once knew, always will.
