I've been thinking on a LOLOMG indie rock band AU ever since I read a really good TMA indie rock band AU so here is the band and the one random thing about then that exists in my mind:

-> So Zolf makes the band because he started the team. He is the guitarrist and I have this thing that all of the members are lyricists but the songs tend to be very different and Zolf mostly writes sad songs and very sappy romantic ballads inspired by Campbells. He temporarially left the band for a bit early on when they started getting famous because Zolf hates the fame and had a extremely hard time dealing with it. He ends up coming back cause he loves both his teammates and music too much but he is the most reclusive and secretive one.

-> Grizzop is the drummer cause Grizzop was made for drumming. He actually joined because when the band was looking for a new drummer cause Cel decided to test different things Vesseck put their name in but ended up not being abble to go and asked Grizzop to at least go warn them. For a long time Grizzop just never mentioned his kids to the band cause he operates in a need to know basis even with friends. Until two years later he said he was going to have to skip a random practice cause one of the clutch was sick and everyone was SHOCKED. Grizzop also created an uproar in the fandom when he just casually dropped that his eldest was going to college soon in a random interview.

-> Sasha plays bass. She just dropped by in the first band try-outs cause Bi Ming said a hobbie would be helpfull and she discovered that indie rock niche band members were considered cool for posting knife tricks online. She discovered at the try outs she was a natural at bass and has improved a lot ever since being maybe the best or at leaat one of the best at their instrument. Zolf did look at her very confused in the start of her try-out cause she started by showing the knife tricks. Sasha was raised by Barrett before Bi Ming took her in and sometimes will mention something very disturbing in interviews assuming is a normal childhood memory.

-> Bertie was the second guitar player but he ended up getting quicked out just months before the band truly made huge cause he kept getting into problems and they didn't like him very much. His guitar was an heirloom and he was descedant from some famous super star or at least was all he talked about.

-> Azu joined with a second guitar to match Zolfs and she was extremely talented. Azu was also the oposite of Bertie in that everyone loves her very much. In fact one of the band's early partnerships made the mistake of assuming Hamid would be the member considered sexy and most popular with the ladies. But while Hamid was a fan favorite and very popular with younger fans most of the woman pinning on a band member when pinning for Azu so they ended up having to recall Azu to take new pics cause all the saphics loved her. Ubfortunately for them Azu is very loyal to her gf professional chess player Kiko that she met at an weird art exibition about marbles.

-> Hamid is the lead singer. He used to be a famous teen popstar that got cancelled because a prank he made with his former best friend and youtube star Gideon and no one was expecting him to come back. Thing is older Hamid is undernably Hamid but also very different because being in a band you choose as an adult were u have actual control over your image and who you are, a real support group and a band that had your back is very different than his experiences as a teen superstar. The more niche smaller fandom also helps.

-> Cel used to be the drummer but they later moved to mostly backstage as the band started having more special effects and production value. They also are one of the bands main song designers. Cel also tends to appear on shows anytime the band needs an unusual instrument cause they just know how to play almost everything. Fans always mark shows with Cel with explosions and fireworks signs cause is always the wildest shows (positively).

-> Wilde is the band's manager. He discovered the band at some point and baited them into accepting him and despite them butting heads at first he ended up being loved by the band for being great at his job, genuinely having their best interest at heart and being a good friend despite the horrible puns. Since the band met him Wilde had a scar he didn't like to talk about and it took a lot of coaxing from the for Wilde to appear in official pictires so he was a mystery manager for a long time. Thing is moment their first photo with Wilde goes online the internet exploded cause unkowest to the band Wilde had like 6 Tonys and used to HUGE on Broadway as a playwriter and actor on musicals until he simply disappeared one day. So now a bunch of theater kids suddently started following the band to try to find clues about Wilde and why he left Broadway and no one knows what to do about it. It does not help that while Oscar is CLEARLY having the time of his life with the theories he is not telling the band either (except Zolf but Zolf promissed to not tell) and it's driving them insane.

I promise I didn't ask myself, " can I make a hyper-cutesy-looking-doll, hyper-creepy-looking, or what!" Lol! I always wanted to try my hand at repainting one of the Lol OMG dolls, particularly the male ones. When I got my Rocker Boi back when the doll released a few years ago, I thought he would be perfect for me to try. I got two, so I could keep one in box (he comes with Punk Girl). Sadly, he is a plastic shade of sun-burned red IRL. So, I kept putting that repaint off. I did make a mockup, and even planned on replacing his default body with the Mattel BTS body (I own too many, and don't really need any of them now! Lol!). His default body is too tiny for my taste, I would rather have a taller broader version of it, but there's nothing of the sort, that I know of. I am not a fan of the BTS body either, but that's probably the palest mass-produced body I own too many of, that I don't have to import and already have a million of them. So, I'll be keeping this dude on that body for a while.

My mockup for this repaint/mod has tinier eyes, and chipmunk cheeks. I don't know why I did that with the cheeks, there's no way in hell I can do that to this sculpt. I do want him to have much smaller eyes though. But I had to fill in the sculpted eyes with my old rusty Aves Apoxie Sculpt a million years ago, when I got this doll, because the LoL OMG eyes are massive!! And they are literally sculpted to be deeply carved onto the head. I had a huge pain in the lower back sanding all of that as flat as possible, without making the sculpt completely flat or ruin it in the way. I still need to mod/flatten it a bit further (the eye area), but I didn't have to add any filler as I had feared. The first time I modified him, and repainted him, I feared I had done a sh1tty job because my Apoxie was so old. However, I lucky didn't had to do any additional, additive mods. Just needed to sand a million years more! And I'll probably need to sand even further to get the tiny eyes I want, next time!

That will be the next time I am feeling energetic! I layered the paint way too thin at first, to match the much paler BTS body, so I kind of shot myself on the foot doing that. I do appreciate texture on realistic HS, but not on hyper-sylized ones as much. At least, not bumpy texture. I don't mind painted/faux/pigmented on texture on stylized heads, but I kind of mind this kind of thick texture from too many layers of paint (love it on 1:6 realistic-ish heads, but not on melon-headed anime-ish ones). It was my mistake, however. The next time I'll probably try to get myself a can of white acrylic spray paint first, or go thicker on my initial paint layers, for the color matching aspect. He's a vampire, so I don't want texture of any kind of him, I just want him to look dead-pasty-white-kind-of-pale, and I'll probably rebody him by then. I quite like him for now, I wish there was no texture to speak of, but live and learn I always say! (;
