Hey guys! We’ve discussed this as a group and gotten the majority of people’s input but we just want to put something here to keep everyone on the same page. The group is currently going through a major revamp including locations, characters, club logistics and the general plot. Pending January 1st we will have our big “re-opening” with all these changes on our new page! You all already know we love you and want you all to come with us, so below the cut is a little more information for you. This include how this will all work, but most importantly -- Your character(s) information you want to bring to the revamp. You can add or change as much as you want about your characters background. The sky is the limit. It’s important to know that this is not an application --- you’re not re-applying. We love and trust you guys, and most of us have worked on these changes together anyway. This is just so we know what to post on the new page! 

That being said, we are currently NOT accepting new applications. The submit will be closing and this main page will become viewable for dashboard only. We’ll start taking new applications in a few weeks when our new main page is up and running, and things begin to move. In the meantime, feel free to carry on with your threads you’ve got going on just for fun. 

We’ve already gotten sappy with you guys more than enough the last few days, but we just want to reiterate again how much it means to use to see that you guys love this group as much as we do. We’re beyond thrilled with the enthusiasm we’ve seen and how on board for all the upcoming changes you have all been. There really is no world to accurately sum up how happy all of this makes us. The last eight months have been an amazing ride and we can’t wait to keep writing and making magic with all of you.

OOC INFORMATION 

As mentioned above, we will not be accepting anymore applications for LOMK, and the main page will become a dashboard only viewable blog.

The next couple of weeks are hectic for everyone in general, and with the revamp, we will be allowing for more lax activity. There will be no activity warning or unfollows will be posted in this time. That being said, we ask that you please keep us in the loop if you’re going to be away. 

DECEMBER 28TH is a day to mark on your calendars. We will be formally closing LOMK 1.0 on that day, and will begin posting promo/interactions for the revamp on that day. This gives everyone a little over TWO WEEKS to figure things out for their characters. All biographies, edits and any new accounts* should be submitted by DECEMBER 28TH, all biographies will be posted two days after. On the 28th, you may begin interactions with everyone with your new revamped characters. Please make sure to see the New Member’s Checklist for the new tracked tags for this. 

If you want to change your characters age, FC, aspects of their biography -- Or even drop a character all together -- you’re welcome to do so. This also includes involvement in the MC. The MC has been a prominent part of the RP, but will be more of a side character from now own -- With LOMK taking on more of a “traditional” town RP vibe. If you would like to remove the MC aspect from your character, you’re more than welcome to do so. None of this will count against you if you desire to pick up another character later on! If you would like to drop a character, please DM one of the admins so we’re in the loop.

You are not required to change your character -- You’re more than welcome to keep everything the same, though we do ask that you review your biography and edit it accordingly to fit the new plot.

It’s a quiet Monday evening, long after last call when Kane Seifer is locking up the Dive -- It’s a typical evening, a bit slower than usual, but about as routine as one would expect. There’s a stillness about the bar, with all the drunkards gone and the cool November breeze filling the air. There’s something almost calming about it, in comparison to the chaos that reigns through the streets each day -- Often coming at the hands of the man fiddling with the keys in the front door. Ironic. The sound of an engine interrupts the uncharacteristically serene moment, a black van comes screeching around the corner, before slamming it’s brakes at the front doors of the Dive, and in front of Kane. Within a blink, the tides change: Two masked men leap out of the car, chloroforming their victim once they’ve caught him off guard, before tossing him into the back seat. No one sees it, no one hears them. They’re gone before anyone gets the chance. Their faces are covered, but one can assume just who has come to collect the debt they feel owed. 

You’d have to either be naive or live under a rock to think that the Primordial MC wouldn’t come for blood eventually. More specifically, the Thane brothers. With Old Lady’s left for dead, club members put into hospital beds, and warehouses blown to bits -- It was only a matter of time before the camel’s back broke and something like this happened. Their faces aren’t seen, but word travels in this town, leaving residents able to put two and two together, if history is any aid. The van drives and drives and drives until it reaches a gravel road and an old house*, before their unconscious victim is pulled from the backseat and brought to a grim basement, where the true horrors begin**. He’s subjected to brutal torture before finally being put out of his misery***, though there’s no neighbors around to smell the smoke or awful scent radiating from the home. Even if they had -- Most people know better than to stare when the MC is involved, you turn a blind eye or you end up in the grave next to him. 

This is the inevitable, a bloody means to an end and a message to the people --- This war is over. 

The first person to find a memento from the evening is a shop keeper from down the street, coming to open his store at sunrise, just like they do each day. His first thought is that those Trojan bastards hadn’t put away a cheap Halloween decoration, adding another thing for him to complain about in regards to the MC. Only upon further inspection, he finds a sight more gruesome that he had imagined. To insure their message is heard loud and clear -- Kane’s head is left on a stake, in the very spot he’d been taken from. There’s a tape attached to it, with something playing on loop. The shopkeeper can’t quite hear what it is until he reaches the Dive, now plagued with having to hear the sounds of a dying man’s screams on loop.

Well guys, we’ve now officially been open eight months and we can’t tell you how excited that makes us. We’re so glad to see the ways that this group has grown over these last months and how everyone has worked to develop their character. As we go into the third act of our plot, we’re going to bring back an old out of character event we had in the past that we felt went over great and have a COMPLIMENTS / MUNDAY. Once again, we encourage everyone to reach out to your fellow members and spread a little love in their inboxes! Not sure where to begin? Go to the people/characters that you haven’t plotted with much, or don’t chat with often (Whether it be IC, OOC, or both). Begin there, and let it snow ball. This is meant to spread kindness and show appreciation for each other and what we this awesome universe we’ve all worked to create over the last eight months. These don’t have to be long, drawn out love letters (or they certainly can be, if that’s how you roll!) but just a little something to help raise someone else’s spirits and put a smile on each other’s face. This can be done anonymously or not, whatever makes you feel more comfortable. 

This will go for a full 24 hours so that everyone has a chance to participate, starting Monday December 2nd at 9 AM EST until Tuesday December 3rd at 9 AM EST.

A few quick matters of housekeeping: 

The character JEFFERSON RHODES will be retired. Rather than reopen Typhon’s skeleton, we will be retiring the character entirely. Because of this, the ATF will now be entirely made up of NPCs. This is meant to eliminate any plotting struggles or issues, given that it can get a bit tricky with the plot at hand. 

After being continuously side tracked, I will be finishing up the NPC page by the weekend, which will include information on each ATF agent. 

Lastly, we’ll be having an event this weekend, beginning SATURDAY evening. It will include a BACHELOR AUCTION, so if you would like to be involved in that, please leave a comment on this post to let us know. Details on specific dates and further information will be posted tomorrow evening.

act iii: winter. 

There’s a headline that’s circulated around town for the past weeks, making it known to every resident in Olympus just what has happened: TROJAN MC LEADER FOUND DEAD. It’s five simple words, a watered down version of the truth. This was no accident, or suicide -- It was deliberate. Even if there’s no trail of evidence, it’s abundantly clear just who is responsible for the death of KANE SEIFER: Primordial MC. Most understand that this was only a matter of time -- It’d either be Kane Seifer or Jackson Thane’s head on a stake, the latter and the Primordial MC were just faster to make it happen. It’s a warning to the people and the declaration that this war is taking a new turn, one that brings it closer to it’s end. 

In the mean time, the Trojan MC has tried to rebuild, holding an election for a new set of leadership -- SETH CARTER has been voted in as the new President, bringing along Ryder Aeron as the Vice President and Ford Collins as their Sargent at Arms. The decision officially pushed ARTEMIS, the former Vice President of the MC prior to Kane’s death out of a position of power entirely. The election is something of a resurgence for the club, giving them hope that despite the death of their President -- They can stay afloat. It’s less than savory news for the Primordial MC, but the Trojan’s are no longer the primary concern. Kane’s death has been the topic of news for weeks now, but what you won’t find in the papers is that on the evening of Thanksgiving, while most families were settling in for dinner, SUTTON CHAMBERS is admitted to the ER after being found beaten and bloody in an alley way. You won’t find a headline about it, or a big news story -- Hell, you probably won’t even hear much about it at all. MC members come through the ER all the time, from stitches to setting bones -- It’s the norm at this point, no one bats an eye.

Only on this time, her injuries come at the hands of an ATF AGENT, one she’s been seeing romantically for several weeks now. It had been a plot, one created by the Primordial MC -- Have your Prospect get close to an ATF agent so they could keep themselves informed, and feed them the information they want the police to know. It helped control the narrative, until they decided the time was right to push them in the right direction. That push came in the form of the location to a Trojan MC drug warehouse, hoping that after Kane’s death that the ATF raiding their warehouse would be the last nail in the coffin, ending this war for good. The only hiccup? The Trojans get word of it, from their own mole -- Once the ATF arrives, kicking down the door in hopes to find the best score of their careers... 

They’re met with an empty warehouse, and a note that reads HAVE YOU CHECKED UP YOUR ASS? sitting at the center of the empty building. 

It’s a devastating hit to a case they’re holding on to by a hair -- In the six months the ATF has been in Olympus, they’ve yet to make a concrete case and truly move forward, and their higher ups have caught wind of it. They’re tasked with a Hail Mary: Make a case by the end of December, or they’re pulled from Olympus entirely and sent back to the drawing board. Needless to say, the loss has a few of the agents unhinged and working late nights, hoping to pin something to someone. While another has a different idea -- His night is spent in a bar, drinking away his sorrows and frustrations with each shot of whiskey, before making an attempt to stumble his way back to his hotel. Only he finds himself face to face with his ‘ex-fling’, Sutton Chambers -- And all hell breaks loose. She’s left covered in her own blood, face swelling up and injuries becoming more prominent as time goes on -- She’s left in the alleyway, with the Agent in question hoping no one will realize that he’d just beat up one of the people he’d been investigating. 

The war among the MCs may have to a halt, but the war with ATF has only just begun. The time clock has begun, and if Thanksgiving is any indicator -- The ATF are playing by the MCs rules.

With the start of a new week, we’re also going to be starting a new tradition here at Last of My Kind with DEVELOPMENT TASKS for everyone. These are completely optional and we won’t be keeping track of who does or doesn’t do them, but they are a fun little way of digging deeper into your character and their background. These tasks can be done in whatever way you think best! You can write a self-para or a headcanon, you can whip something up in photoshop, you could post a playlist --- whatever way(s) you feel inspired to complete it!

Our first prompt is FEAR. Tell us about your characters fears whether they be deep or surface level, rational or irrational. How do they react when faced with one of these fears?

This group has been open for roughly three and a half months, and I can’t tell you excited that fact makes me. We’re entering a new era with LOMK, one that brings new faces and plots to town -- But before we get our feet wet, there’s something important I feel the need to address. Let me begin by saying this is not a call out, or meant to seem like you’re being grounded by a parent. This is just a bit of housekeeping, something that naturally comes from a group being open, and so many of us being in one group chat together. 

A majority of the members at LOMK have been in the group since opening, and together -- We have all bonded, plotted, and made some pure magic. But the downside of that comes from us all being in the same group chat together. When you put a large (currently 14, but has been as large as roughly 25) group of people in one spot together for a long period of time, personalities are bound to clash. The hard part about all of this being over the internet, is that things like tone, sarcasm, and emotion can be difficult to read. Unfortunately, it’s not like a thread, where we can expand on an inner monologue to give a clearer view of intent and the meaning behind our words. I’ve seen this happen in the group chat before -- Clashes of personality, opinions, etc. It’s okay to have a different point of view and thought process, but miscommunication, flared tempers over the former, and hurt feelings can follow just as quickly. Given that we’re not all face to face, these things can begin to fester and pile up. We’ve all seen it happen first hand, whether it be in the past or the group chat. We’re all human, shit happens. 

What I’ve enjoyed so much about this group is the OOC bond that’s been created with members. Like I said, we’ve created magic here together -- Brought to life a story that keeps all of us at the edge of our seats, excited to see what happens next. Even with the wild nonsense our characters do, you can still find people in the group chat cracking jokes about farts and memes. I want for all of us to take a moment to remind ourselves of that, of the bond we have -- We’re a big, dysfunctional, loving family. I’d like to invite everyone to step back, and take a moment to fill up each others buckets, rather than knock them over.

From here on out, each Monday we will be having MUSE / MUNDAY, as a means of boosting moral and spreading positivity between one another. Each Monday, I ask all of your to reach other one another and leave a little love in different inboxes. I challenge you all to send both COMPLIMENTS, and MUSING QUESTIONS to one another. Not sure where to begin? Go to the people/characters that you haven’t plotted with much, or don’t chat with often (Whether it be IC, OOC, or both). Begin there, and let it snow ball. To kick things off, our first MUSE / MUNDAY will be going on from today (Wednesday, July 17th) through Monday evening. After that, each week we will have MUSE / MUNDAY on Mondays. I will be making a new post each Monday to remind everyone, and kick things off.

Now, to kick off our very first MUSE / MUNDAY, I’ll break the ice: I created LOMK when I was feeling the itch to write, but couldn’t seem to break back into the RP world. I didn’t expect it to blow up like it has, or last this long -- But it puts a smile on my face every time I read a new reply, catch up on the dash, and check in on the group chat. I know I’ve said it before, but I really feel like we’ve made magic here. I’m so incredibly grateful that I get to write with all of you (And if we don’t have a thread yet? Hello?! Lets make it happen!), and I can’t wait to see where this story takes us. Thank you, I love you, keep whooping ass.
