Lettie was determined to be outside more often than not now that she had posted bail. Things weren’t looking great. There was a witness that saw her, though she was sure there were others that could come forward. She was going to have to take the fall for Andy, there was no way around it. It made her stomach twist, but she couldn’t just let him go back to prison. She, at least, would get a reduced sentence. He wouldn’t get that lucky. She felt there was no point in making her presence less noticeable than normal, she was sure everyone knew what the charges against her were. Murder. Her lawyers were working on getting that changed, but for now she would be watching soccer moms pull their kids away from her when they saw her in public. So, of course, she wore one of her more obnoxious outfits and made sure to rev her engine before getting out of her car. At this point it was funny to fuck with everyone.
Getting out with her coffee, Lettie slide her little sunglasses down her nose, sneering at a woman who had stopped to stare at her. She pulled up the leg of her red cargo pants, to show off the ankle monitor that had come with her bail,“Don’t worry, Mama, the cops know where I am. You can stop contemplating if you should take out your pepper spray or not.” As the woman scurried away, Lettie let the pant leg drop, but the cuff got stuck on the ankle monitor and she growled at it, but didn’t fix it. Rolling her eyes, she went to walk away before catching another person’s eye. “She was staring, I’m allowed to call her out.”
